How Can Lazy People Lose Weight?
The answer seems easy – stop being lazy. But is it really that easy? Of course it is not. If it was, there would not be a need for this article to have been written in the first place. A lot of people can't just change their lazy lifestyle overnight. It has to be a gradual process. And in the case of some folks, they are not too lazy to exercise.
Instead, they happen to be too busy to be able to squeeze exercise into their daily routine. That is why I decided to do some research and found some of the best ways for super lazy people and super busy people alike to be able to lose weight.
And since it is still the first month of 2017, there is no better time than now to start taking the necessary measures to lose that weight that you made New Year's resolutions to lose back in December.
10 Simple Weight Loss Tip:
1.) Say no to Burger King and McDonald's
You have probably heard this a million times and there are really good reasons for why this is stressed so much. Fast food is highly detrimental to not only your weight loss goals, but to your overall health.
And I get it – fast food is cheap and as the name suggests, it is fast. For those who are super busy, fast food is all too convenient. But when you think about all of the unhealthy additives that are put in fast food to make it taste good, it starts to appear more inconvenient.
If you need a quick snack on the go, get a nutrient bar or some yogurt. Or just pick up an apple or banana. Do not go to Burger King for a burger or some fries. And when it comes to your main meals like breakfast, lunch, and dinner, make an effort to find time to eat proper meals.
2.) Your body has an internal schedule
I do not think we humans give our bodies enough credit. We think that we are in total control of our bodies and that is simply not the case. You see, the human body gets used to a certain routine.
If you usually eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the same time each day, your body will get used to it. And if you end up changing up that routine, your body will react in potentially negative ways. If you skip breakfast one day, your body might go into panic mode and think that it is starving.
Therefore it will cause your metabolism to slow down to preserve your fat reserves because your body thinks they will not be replenished. And slowing down your metabolism is something that you definitely do NOT want to do if you are trying to lose weight. Eat your meals at normal times.
3.) Learn to like oats
Oats are a great food to eat to start off your day. This is because they are very filling and will make you less likely to snack on other foods in the time between breakfast and lunch. Not only are they filling, but oats are also jam-packed with all kinds of nutrients that the body needs to function at optimal levels. The best part is that they are very low in fat as well.
4.) Split up your meals
If you can't rearrange your schedule to make yourself able to eat your meals at regular times, I have a different solution for you. You can split up your main 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) into 5 to 6 smaller meals that you eat throughout the days.
This is a great way to speed up your metabolism as your body will never go into panic mode when it does not get fed at the appropriate time. Instead, it quickly metabolizes what you have eaten in anticipation for the next small meal. And you should know by now, the key to weight loss is a fast metabolism.
5.) Refresh yourself with some water
Water is a boring tasteless beverage. And because of this, a lot of people opt not to drink it in favor of more flavorful beverages like soda and various artificial juices. The problem is – these drinks are not good for your health and are packed with so much sugar that causes weight gain and diabetes.
The solution? Water. Believe me, I used to be just like you. I would drink so much soda that it is a miracle that I do not have diabetes right now. I decided to change my habits over a year ago and I have not looked back since.
I replaced soda with water as my main beverage of choice. Unlike soda, water actually quenches your thirst. On top of that, water leaves you feeling full and thus making you less likely to snack on things throughout the day.
But wait, there is more. Water replenishes various vital parts of your body that regulate necessary processes associated with digestion and muscle growth.
6.) Take the stairs, not the elevator
Don't have time for exercise? No problem – there are various activities you can do while you are on the go to get the necessary exercise. Do you usually take the elevator? Start taking the stairs. Do you usually take a cab or bus to your workplace? Walk or ride a bike instead (unless your workplace is super far away).
Does your job require you to sit for long periods at a time? Start standing instead! All of these activities can help your body burn fat because they all expend energy. And the more fat that is burnt, the less that is stored that contributes to body weight.
7.) Look into some diet supplements
One of the easiest ways for lazy (or super busy) people to lose weight is to take diet supplements. These usually come in the form of pills and contain various beneficial vitamins and nutrients that have been shown to aid in weight loss. The diet supplement market can be a bit risky, though.
There is very little regulation by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) so almost any product can hit the market and be sold to people, regardless of how safe or unsafe it is. Make sure to buy from trusted brands with plenty of positive customer testimonials.
8.) Replace the carbs with protein
A big problem that those looking to lose weight is that they eat too many foods with carbs. These foods are various bread products like pizza and noodles. You do not necessarily have to cut out these foods completely, but you can balance them out with some protein-rich foods.
And while protein from meaty foods can be good for you, it also has the potential to be bad for you because fats derived from animal products have negative effects on your body. Stick to protein from plant-based foods.
9.) Start keeping records of your progress
Once you embark on this journey to lose weight, you will definitely want to keep records of your progress. It will motivate you to not give up and stay the course. On top of that, if you record everything you eat in a day, you can identify problem areas that you can address.
Do you happen to snack on something unhealthy at the same time each day? Take the necessary measures to cut that habit out. And the most satisfying part will be at the end of this whole ordeal when you can look back and see how far you have come. It will be a true pat on the back moment for you that you will definitely deserve.
10.) Sweat your weight off
What if I told you there was a way for you to lose weight by doing nothing at all? You would not believe me, I'm sure. But there is. It is called going to a sauna. You can just sit in a sauna and sweat off the weight.
This may be perhaps the easiest way for lazy people to lose weight. Even those who are super busy should try to fit in at least a half hour visit to the sauna in their schedule.
