Neuro Fuel – Revolutionary Mood Enhancement Nootropic Beverage?

on

Neuro Fuel is a new nootropic beverage created by a Tennessee-based company. Read our review to find out if Neuro Fuel is right for you.

What is Neuro Fuel?

Neuro Fuel is a nootropic beverage that comes in a can similar to an energy drink. The can features a distinctive font style that makes it immediately stand out from competitors like Rockstar or Red Bull at the convenience store.

Neuro Fuel was relatively popular between 2010 and 2015, but suddenly started disappearing from shelves in 2016. Today, it’s nearly impossible to find online or in stores, and the company’s social media profiles have all gone quiet.

Nevertheless, Neuro Fuel occupies a cult status among nootropics users and energy drink fans. The company still appears to be active, although it’s unclear what the future holds for Neuro Fuel.

Neuro Fuel was launched in 2008. Today, the company’s official website just features a slideshow of the Neuro Fuel flavors and varieties that were once available.

Benefits of Neuro Fuel

Neuro Fuel claims that you can drink the product to enjoy a number of cognitive benefits, including:

As the name of the formula suggests, it’s fuel for your brain: neuro fuel.

How Does Neuro Fuel Work?

Neuro Fuel claims their formula was developed “after years of research and formulation”. Their beverage specifically claims to work by raising dopamine and serotonin levels in the brain.

How does Neuro Fuel raise levels of these crucial neurotransmitters? The formula uses “a mix of proponents, cofactors, antioxidants, and precursors”. After drinking Neuro Fuel, you can enjoy benefits like improved concentration, better sexual drive, improved happiness, and better overall performance.

Some of the key ingredients in Neuro Fuel include Piracetam. There’s a whopping 750mg of piracetam inside. Piracetam is one of the more popular nootropic ingredients on the market, and its effectiveness has been reinforced in numerous studies to date. Neuro Fuel’s official website claims that 300 studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of Piracetam.

Oddly, Neuro Fuel is one of the few beverage companies that actually recommends mixing their product with alcohol. The official website states that “Neuro Fuel’s effects mix very well with alcohol by actually potentiating the beneficial effects (euphoria) and decreasing the negative ones”. This seems like the type of clean that could get a company in legal trouble – especially since Neuro Fuel contains approximately 130mg of caffeine.

If you’re taking drugs, then you might also want to drink Neuro Fuel before or after:

“Neuro Fuel makes for an amazing hangover cure as well as protecting the brain from the detrimental effects of alcohol and other drugs.”

Typically, you don’t see beverage manufacturers recommending that you use their products with drugs or alcohol, or use it as a hangover cure. That’s not necessarily a problem, but it could pose some legal issues (although we could find no evidence of any Neuro Fuel legal issues online).

Neuro Fuel Ingredients

It’s difficult to find any information about Neuro Fuel’s ingredients online. The company claims that it has 5415mg of active ingredients in total, including a 750mg dose of piracetam. They don’t, however, provide additional details on the official website.

However, Neuro Fuel’s ingredients include mostly B vitamins – including vitamins B6 and B12. These are popular B vitamins responsible for energy production in the body, and they can be found in a wide range of other energy drinks.

Other key ingredients, according to the side of a Neuro Fuel can, including vitamin C (100% of your daily value), 6 B vitamins in total, 127.5mg of caffeine, taurine, choline, L-carnitine, DL-Phenylaniline, piracetam, glucuronolactone, and inositol.

The Original formula has 21g of sugar and 100 calories, while the Sugar Free version has 10 calories and no sugar.

How to Buy Neuro Fuel

Neuro Fuel appears to be a discontinued nootropic product. Between 2012 and 2015, the product was sold at convenience stores throughout Tennessee and surrounding states, but it’s rarely seen anymore. Originally, you could order it online through DrinkNeuroFuel.com, but that website features virtually no ordering information whatsoever.

Types of Neuro Fuel

Neuro Fuel had two main varieties or flavors on the market, including:

  • Original (Blue can)
  • Sugar Free (White can)

Both cans featured the distinctive Neuro Fuel logo. They were also well-known for their citrus-y flavor, which one reviewer described as “Red Bull flavor with a touch of pineapple thrown in”. Some reviewers claim there was an awkward aftertaste. Most reviewers agree it has that awkward medicine-like flavor associated with other energy drinks – which may or may not be a bad thing for you.

Who Makes Neuro Fuel?

Neuro Fuel, according to this article by a Knoxville-area media outlet, was created by Utopian Enterprises. That company distributes Neuro Fuel from its beverage center in Kingston, Tennessee.

The two founders of the company are UT grads Waylon Howell and Joe Elmore. When the product launched, the founders claimed that Neuro Fuel “provides the same boost as an energy drink, [but]it has vitamins and doesn’t give you the jitters”.

Back in 2008, Neuro Fuel was sold in 1,000 stores across Tennessee and the rest of the United States, where it typically occupied shelf space next to energy drinks. Neuro Fuel could be found “from Grand Rapids, Mich., to Key West, Fla.” explains the article.

The company’s Facebook page lists its address as:

2500 Buttermilk Rd. W
Lenoir City, TN 37771

That Facebook page, by the way, is filled with people asking if Neuro Fuel is still being produced. There are posts from 2016 and 2017 from some customers who claim to have found the beverage at local convenience stores. The company hasn’t released an official post since 2015.

Should You Buy Neuro Fuel?

Neuro Fuel was one of the first big nootropic beverages to hit the market back in 2008. The beverages contained a strong dose of Piracetam mixed with B vitamins and other nootropic ingredients.

Today, Neuro Fuel is oddly hard to find across America. The company’s social media profiles have gone dark, and we haven’t seen official updates from Neuro Fuel since 2015.

That being said, a quick look at Twitter, Facebook, and other social media shows that customers continue to find Neuro Fuel at convenience stores across America. Your local convenience store might have a forgotten case in the back. Otherwise, it’s difficult to find a place to buy Neuro Fuel online. We’ll keep you updated if we have more information.
