Piracetam Reviews

Piracetam is one of the oldest of the Nootropics currently on the market today. For those of you who don't know what Nootropics are, it's one of the latest fields in self-help drugs that can give you the edge and business, school, and in life.

What is Piracetam?

There have been various movies in the mainstream media that focused on this new technology and universities have promoted these drugs in many cases during exam weeks (there was actually a news article about Harvard promoting nootropics) because they feel, they give students, a huge advantage while taking tests. Be that as it may, many people are buying Nootropic supplements either through prescription or as over-the-counter supplements.

Today we are going to take a look at Piracetam and see what it can do for you.

After you finish reading this article, you'll be better able to decide for yourself if this is the one that can help you in business, school, and daily life.

Effects of Piracetam On The Brain

Piracetam is not like any of the other Nootropics on the market, which in itself speaks of its abilities that make it still a bestseller after so long. Each of the drugs in the Nootropics class affects the brain differently.

Piracetam is a sensory enhancer, which means it makes sounds louder and clearer, colors brighter and more distinct and your sense of touch is heightened beyond what you're used to experiencing. It is believed that acetylcholine is responsible for many of the enhance brain functions that Nootropics are used to enhance.

Since Piracetam is one of a subclass of drugs that are called racetams, it affects this mechanism in the brain. Studies have shown that racetams can boost cognitive function and memory.

How much will it boost your brain?

This depends on the dosage and an individual's ability to tolerate the drug. Piracetam is different from its siblings, as it seems to affect the senses more than the others and by boosting the human senses improves concentration and improve concentration is a direct link to improving memory.

How this mechanism works with the use of racetams is not fully understood as yet however clinical trials and the number of people that are using this drug and studies have shown it to be highly effective for boosting memory and focusing concentration.

Why Should I Use Piracetam Over The Other Nootropics

Piracetam, as stated earlier, is the oldest and most tested of all the Nootropic compounds. That equates to a known constant and its reliability is a matter of record.

If you never used a Nootropic before Piracetam is a good supplement to start with. You can see how it affects you and what dosage level you need to use to get the best results. But, one of the other advantages of Piracetam is that it's a mood enhancer.

In the high-pressure world of college and university life as well as working in high-pressure jobs such as marketing, law, and the stock market where depression and stress go hand-in-hand, Piracetam's value to keep your stress levels low and your serotonin levels under control along with its ability to accentuate your mental capacities are invaluable.

For people looking to rise to the top in any profession, Piracetam is a great nootropic drug for helping keep you energized, and with a clear mind, 24/7/365-even in the most demanding of career fields. Nootropics are becoming much more mainstream for a reason-they work!

So the bottom line for you is that you can get better memory, focus more clearly on topics, and get a leg up in your job, career, or as you work toward your degree. The mood enhancement and boosting capability keeps you upbeat and you are more likely to finish and achieve your goals much easier than if you have to fight stress, fatigue, and depression that comes along with striving to the goals that you set for yourself.

Piracetam Dosages

Typical dosages of Piracetam range from 8-2400mg, taken 1-3 times daily. Megadoses are often times used to increase short term effects….though no long term studies have been done on this method of administration. For this, users take piracetam in excess of 5-9 grams for several days in a row.

Side Effects Associated With Piracetam

As within any Nootropic supplement there may be side effects.

The standard for these types of drugs and is a blanket list of side effects include:

— Agitation
— Excitability Including Anxiety
— Headache
— Irritability
— Nervousness
— Sleeplessness Or Insomnia
— Tremors

However, these side effects are highly unlikely for most users.

But once again, you need to check with your doctor, especially if you have a preexisting medical condition or allergies. Having given you all the legalese in actual testing, Piracetam is actually less toxic than table salt.

However, one of the problems with Nootropics is that the FDA will not give approval to them as they only approved drugs that are created synthetically to treat, cure or alleviate a disease. Enhancement of brain function is not something that the FDA wishes to involve itself with or approve any drug or supplement that falls into this category.

This is probably a holdover to the days of the “Nazi Superman” in Germany, where they were actively attempting and performing eugenics experiments on human beings to create a “Master Race.” The FDA probably wishes to steer clear of any potential pitfalls in this area. As eugenics is a touchy subject even today, in a world filled with cloning, gene manipulation, brain-boosting drugs and other mind enhancement technology.

As with any supplement, you should always check with your physician before starting to take them. You should also check with your physician to see how this type of supplement can affect other medications that you may be taking currently. It's always best to check with a medical or health professional before starting any new drug or supplement.

History

Piracetam was first synthesized by Dr. Corneliu Giurgea in 1964. It is a synthetic derivative of GABA. Released commercially in the 1970s it is being used in many European nations at this time. As of this writing, the FDA has still not given its blessing on the use of Piracetam in the US. However, it is perfectly legal to purchase to be utilized in any way you see fit.

With many decades of safe use, it is the backbone of many Nootropic stacking regimens.

Stacking is where one or more Nootropics are used in conjunction with each other as they balance off each other and give better results than using one Nootropic all by itself.

How much do you have to take in order to see the effects of Piracetam

The recommended dosage is 4800 mg though in some studies is 8-1200 mg taken 3 times a day, as this has been proven to enhance mental functions, memory, concentration, and to induce mood elevation

Legal Status

Piracetam is legal worldwide…except for only recently..in the UK, since their psychoactive drugs legislation that was passed even on the so called “legal highs” of the country. US, other parts of Europe etc. it is all entirely legal-as with all other non-prescription nootropic drugs.

Long Term Effects

As of this writing Piracetam has been in use for decades and no long term harmful effects have been noted. However, every person is unique and different so what may be true for one may not be necessarily that… for another. Piracetam, in doses of 8-5000mg per day, taken over periods of 90 days to a year, has shown no excess or additional, long-term side effects.

Short-Term Benefits

Within 30 minutes to 45 minutes, you will start to see colors more vividly, sounds will become more distinct, and as a whole, your brain seems to be moving at a faster pace.

In some respects, the world seems to slow down around you. This gives you time in the virtual sense to think about a particular topic in more detail and depth than you ever thought it was possible to do before. Your memory function will be boosted and you be able to recall facts figures much better than you ordinarily would.

The effectual experience are very similar to those of a person in what is called an altered state of consciousness (ASC) as popularized by Jean Houston and Robert Masters in their seminal book, “Mind Games.” During the 60s and 70s Doctors Masters and Houston worked together to find alternatives to the effects and mind expanding potentials that they and other researchers had discovered with the use of psychotropic drugs.

These drugs, which were in the late 60s outlawed by the United States government and so they attempted to use other means to induce these altered states of consciousness without using any drugs at all.

The results however, are subjective and home-based on the degree to which an individual has the ability to control their internal visualization and mental processes.

Nootropics allow this without intensive mental training or going into a trance state as what the final results of Dr. Master’s Research project concluded their study with.

NLP built upon this research and Doctor Richard Bandler, co-founder of NLP and a Long time advocate of altered states of consciousness is able to induce ASC in his patients and clients almost at will. However, very few NLP practitioners have developed the skill and expertise to match Doctor Bandler.

Final Thoughts on Piracetam

Now students can enhance themselves and take on the High Technology and research required to keep America on the forefront and the cutting edge of future advancement in all fields of endeavor.

Piracetam also has applications in high stress job areas to not only relieve the stress and anxiety but increase cognitive development, memory, and concentration all at the same time.

Myasthenia gravis From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Under normal conditions, nerves direct your muscles to work by sending a message through an area called a receptor. The chemical that delivers the message is called acetylcholine. When acetylcholine binds to a nerve receptor, your muscle knows to contract. In myasthenia gravis, you have fewer acetylcholine receptors than you need.

Myasthenia gravis is considered to be anautoimmune disorder. In an autoimmune disease, some of the body’s antibodies (cells in your body that are supposed to be programmed to fight foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, or fungi) mistake a part of your own body as foreign, resulting in its destruction. In the case of myasthenia gravis, antibodies attack and destroy the acetylcholine receptors needed for muscle contraction.

The initial symptom of MG is related to the muscles around the eye.[3] There may be eyelid drooping (ptosis due to weakness of levator palpebrae superioris)[6] and double vision (diplopia,[3] due to weakness of the extraocular muscles).[4]

Weakness of the muscles involved in swallowing may lead to swallowing difficulty

Weakness of the muscles involved in speaking may lead to dysarthria and hypophonia.[3] Speech may be slow and slurred,[8] or have a nasal quality.[

Due to weakness of the muscles of facial expression and muscles of mastication, there may be facial weakness, manifesting as inability to hold the mouth closed[3] (the “hanging jaw sign”), and a snarling appearance when attempting to smile.[4] Together with drooping eyelids, facial weakness may make the individual appear sleepy or sad.[3] There may be difficulty in holding the head upright.[8]
