Nawgan Review
Nawgan is an alertness beverage available in six different flavors. Find out how this drink works today in our Nawgan review.
What is Nawgan?
Nawgan is an “alertness beverage” (not an energy drink) available online for about $2 per can. Each can contains a blend of caffeine, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, and vitamin E along. The beverages are also low in calories (containing anywhere from 0 to 45 calories) and have 0 grams of sugar.
Together, these ingredients purportedly help boost your mental energy. The creators of Nawgan cite two clinical studies where Nawgan demonstrated its ability to boost brainpower, concentration, and mental performance among drinkers.
The nootropic energy drink was created by a company named Nawgan Products, LLC based in Dana Point, California. That company was founded in 2007.
Today, six different flavors of Nawgan are available. Those flavors include the original Red Berries flavor along with Mandarin Orange, Strawberry Kiwi, Lemonade, Grape, and Mango Lemon Lime.
You can buy the energy drinks online through Amazon or through the official website. The drinks are also available at The Vitamin Shoppe stores across America.
How Does Nawgan Work?
Nawgan claims to be scientifically formulated to help you focus. Some of the key ingredients in the drink include:
— Caffeine: Each can of Nawgan contains about the same caffeine as a cup of coffee. The manufacturer never actually lists how much caffeine is in Nawgan until you check the side of the can. It turns out there is 110mg of caffeine in each can.
— Cognizin Citicoline: Cognizin Citicoline is a registered trademark formula that combines choline and cytidine together to boost brain power. Every can of Nawgan contains 250mg of Cognizin Citicoline to keep your brain alert.
— Vitamin E: Nawgan calls this ingredient D-alpha tocopherol acetate, but that’s just a fancy name for natural vitamin E. There’s 50% of your daily recommended value of vitamin E available in each serving of Nawgan.
— Alpha-glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline: This chemical compound works synergistically with Citicoline because it’s a good source of choline on its own (95mg of choline, or 17% of your daily recommended value of 550mg).
Nawgan Ingredients
Nawgan prominently advertises all of the ingredients listed above because they’re the most active ingredients within the beverage. However, a quick look at the side of the can will reveal a list of other ingredients you may or may not be aware of:
The manufacturer of Nawgan claims that it doesn’t use artificial sweeteners or artificial ingredients. Nevertheless, all Nawgan flavors contain sucralose, which is considered by most to be an artificial sweetener. Sucralose commonly goes by its more popular name, which is Splenda.
How to Drink Nawgan
The manufacturer recommends taking Nawgan once a day, or whenever you need a boost of energy. Specifically, they say:
“You know what they say, a Nawgan a day keeps the underachieving GPA away.”
How Many Calories Are in Nawgan?
Nawgan varies from 0 calories to 45 calories. The Red Berries, Mandarin Orange, and Strawberry Kiwi flavors all contain 45 calories while the Lemonade, Grape, and Mango Lemon Lime flavors contains zero calories.

What Does Nawgan Taste Like?
People describe the taste of Nawgan in many different ways. Here’s what one reviewer at CaffeineInformer.com had to say:
“…imagine what the taste equivalent would be of an off-white color. For me, that nails it. It’s not quite transparent, but is lightly tainted with an unattractive and bland character.”
A reviewer on Amazon was more positive and appreciated the Nawgan Lemonade flavor:
“Whether or not you'll like Nawgan's Lemonade drink is going to be a matter of personal taste, but I can describe what it tasted like for me. This is not carbonated and has the milder taste of tea or Kool-Aid with a medium amount of sugar. For me, this was at its best icy cold (personal preference). I didn't taste any funny after taste as you get with a lot of other energy drinks.”
Another Amazon reviewer echoed that sentiment:
“This is the first energy drink I've tried that I actually like the taste of! The taste is great (like Grape Kool-Aid)”
One more reviewer said the taste was okay, but noticeably bitter:
“I did not really care for a weak Lemonade taste. This also has to be iced cold for anyone to drink it. For me it tastes bitter and had a bad after taste, and made me thirsty on top of it all.”
Red Berries seems to be the most popular flavor, which makes sense considering it’s the original Nawgan formula. However, if you prefer zero calories, then Lemonade seems to be the most popular flavor.
