ProVanax – HFL’s Anxiety, Panic, Depression & Stress Eraser?

on

ProVanax is an over-the-counter herbal remedy that purportedly helps to treat depression and anxiety without the use of prescription drugs. Here’s our ProVanax review.

What Is ProVanax?

ProVanax is a nutritional supplement available in 725mg veggie capsules that you can take twice a day to help lower anxiety and limit the symptoms of depression, according to the product’s website.

How Does ProVanax Work?

ProVanax works through the use of several different herbal remedies that are thought to have some positive effects on the human body when it comes to reducing and eliminating stress, anxiety, and depression.

These ingredients help to increase and optimize levels of certain hormones within the body like dopamine and serotonin while reducing other less helpful hormones like cortisol.

It is also claimed that ProVanax may also help you if you suffer from insomnia by providing deeper, more restful sleep.

ProVanax Creators

ProVanax is a product of Health, Fitness, and Longevity Solutions (HFL Solutions). The company was founded by Dr. Sam Robbins, who claims to have backgrounds in endocrinology and psychology.

Nowhere does Dr. Robbins reveal where he received his MD, if he received a PhD, or if he is board-certified or accredited anywhere to practice medicine.

ProVanax Ingredients

There are many different ingredients in ProVanax, separated into two main categories.

The first is simply 25mg of magnesium oxide. Lower magnesium levels have been linked in scientific studies with sleeplessness, painful muscle cramps, depression, and anxiety, and one way to treat these conditions is to take magnesium supplements.

The other category is nearly 700mg of what HFL Solutions calls its Synergy Optimizer Technologies blend, which contains the following:

Phenibut

A synthetic form of a neurotransmitter known as GABA. Phenibut has a history of being used as an over-the-counter anti-anxiety medication based on clinical trials in animals.

However, Phenibut’s effect on the human body has not been researched sufficiently to reveal whether it has the same effect on people.

Griffonia Extract 5-HTP

The precursor to the hormone serotonin. 5-HTP has shown some anti-anxiety effects in clinical trials with rats but has yet to be tested on humans. However, Griffonia has been used as an herbal remedy for years to treat a number of medical ills.

St. John’s Wort

An herbal remedy used for generations because of its alleged anti-depressive properties.

Some scientific research studies have shown mixed results in proving whether St. John’s Wort truly does have these properties; the herb tends to perform marginally better in human trials than in placebo groups.

Passion Flower

Another herbal remedy linked to treating both insomnia and anxiety.

In this case, the evidence for passion flower being useful to treat anxiety is stronger than that it is for treating insomnia, but scientific research has shown this herbal remedy has promise in doing so.

Valerian

A common herbal remedy used to treat insomnia and anxiety. There is more evidence that valerian helps with insomnia than anxiety, almost as a mirror image of Passion flower, in a way that may be synergistic.

Inositol

A vitamin-like substance present in cell and plant walls.

Scientific research reveals that inositol may be useful in treating panic disorders such as agoraphobia or generalized anxiety disorder, though the jury is still out on how much inositol can influence these disorders.

L-theanine From Green Tea Extract

L-theanine is an amino acid that is thought to help promote feelings of tranquility among those suffering from anxiety. However there is no definitive clinical evidence to unequivocally prove this theory.

L-taurine

Another amino acid that plays a central role in cardiovascular health. However, many suspect that taurine plays a role in strengthening mental acuity and reduces sleepiness in those suffering from sleep deprivation.

There’s no definitive proof of these capabilities yet.

GABA

Or gamma-aminobutyric acid, a neurotransmitter that may reduce stress. More research is needed to prove or disprove whether GABA has stress-relief capabilities.

ProVanax Pricing

A single bottle of ProVanax is available directly from HFL Solutions for $49.97 plus shipping.

Other options include a 20% discount for an auto-ship option, which drops the price to $39.97 plus shipping for each bottle, or a buy 2, get 1 free promotion where you can receive 3 bottles for just $99.97.

ProVanax Customer Reviews

Feedback about ProVanax and HFL Solutions has been hit-or-miss. Ratings average at about 3.5 stars out of 5 for the product, based on an aggregate of positive and negative reviews.

Pros:

  • Generally Recognized as Safe – the ingredients used in ProVanax are generally recognized as safe or likely safe by the FDA, meaning there are few dangers to those who decide to take ProVanax.
  • Limited Clinical Proof – many of the ingredients are backed by promising data from initial clinical trials indicating they may be useful in treating anxiety, depression, and insomnia. However, the majority of these ingredients need to be researched more clearly to substantiate these early results.
  • Guaranteed to Work – HFL Solutions provides a money-back guarantee for dissatisfied customers.

Cons:

  • Expensive – compared to other over-the-counter herbal anti-anxiety remedies with many of the same ingredients, ProVanax is much more expensive.
  • Spurious Endorsement – ProVanax is “doctor endorsed,” but it is unclear if this is just from Dr. Robbins or if it is endorsed by other medical professionals as well.
  • Lack of Proof of Overall Effectiveness – there’s no clinical trials or research associated with ProVanax as a whole and how effective it is.
  • Customer Service Issues – there are very many customer service complaints lodged against HFL Solutions and Dr. Robbins.

ProVanax Summary

ProVanax may not work as well as advertised, based on the many customer complaints found lodged against HFL Solutions.

Dr. Robbins himself has a very abrasive personality and refuses to reveal what specific degrees he has, leading to unanswered questions about his certifications.

With the high levels of unsatisfied customers and the high price tag of ProVanax, you may want to find a different supplement, one that has similar ingredients, that’s from a more reputable source that doesn’t charge as much for its products.
