Provillus – Minoxidil Hair Loss Treatment System

Provillus Review

Provillus is a two part hair loss treatment system that uses minoxidil along with herbal ingredients like horsetail extract. Here’s our Provillus review.

What is Provillus?

Provillus is a two part hair loss treatment system. There are two different versions of Provillus – one for men and another for women. The first part of the system uses the drug minoxidil, which is FDA-approved to promote hair regrowth.

The topical minoxidil treatment is just one part of the Provillus system. The other part is a specially formulated vitamin supplement containing herbs and minerals.

By applying the topical solution daily and taking the nutritional supplement orally, the goal is to regrow your hair from both inside and outside your body at the same time.

How Does Provillus Work?

Provillus requires you to apply the topical treatment twice daily while also taking the oral supplement daily.

The makers of Provillus claim you can start seeing results in two months, but it may take up to one year to see really strong results.

The topical treatment uses the active ingredient Minoxidil, which is a well-known and clinically proven way to regrow lost hair. It’s the same ingredient found in Rogaine and most other topical balding treatments.

Provillus’s manufacturer has not disclosed the concentration of minoxidil in their topical treatment formula.

You can get minoxidil from any supermarket or pharmacy. It’s not a unique treatment exclusive to Provillus. So this part of the formula is virtually identical to every other topical balding treatment on the market today.

For that reason, the best way to compare Provillus to other treatments is to look at the second part of its hair loss treatment system: the nutritional supplement.

The manufacturer of Provillus claims that the nutritional supplement uses a blend of different ingredients that have been specifically chosen to block DHT, which is the hormone primarily responsible for loss of hair as you grow older.

Those ingredients include vitamin B6, biotin, and magnesium, three essential nutrients that benefit your body in numerous ways.

More importantly, there are also additional ingredients like horsetail silica and para-amino benzoic acid that are more unique.

Horsetail silica claims to have been “used in folk medicine since the time of the ancient Romans and Greeks”, according to the manufacturer of Provillus.

Para-amino benzoic acid, on the other hand, is “known for its ability to absorb ultraviolet (UV) as well as reducing skin wrinkles.”

It’s unclear how either ingredient can prevent hair loss.

Even if the ingredients were linked to hair regrowth, we don’t know the dosages of the ingredients in Provillus. The manufacturer refuses to give us that information. This makes it impossible to assess the benefits of the supplement or compare its results to other supplements with different dosages.

Ultimately, the lack of ingredient information on Provillus is shady and suggests that the supplement isn’t very powerful. In any case, none of the ingredients have been linked to hair regrowth or balding treatments.

Provillus Pricing

Provillus is priced at identical rates for both the men and women’s formula. Here’s how much you can expect to pay for the different package deals:

— 1 Bottle: $49.95 + $6.95 Shipping ($56.90)
— 3 Bottles: $99.90 + Free Shipping
— 5 Bottles: $149.85 + Free Shipping

Who Makes Provillus?

Provillus is made by a company named Pacific 298 Ltd.

That company’s About Us page claims that it’s a “trusted name in Health and Beauty” and is dedicated to providing safe and effective products that help people supplement their lives.

The company was founded in 2002.

There’s very little information about Pacific 298 Ltd. available online. Googling the company reveals a handful of corporate registration listings. The company appears to have been founded on March 27, 2015 in Cyprus. You can view registration information here.

Should You Use Provillus to Treat Balding?

Provillus markets itself as a cure for balding and an effective way to regrow lost hair.

That’s only partially true: the active ingredient in the Provillus topical spray is minoxidil, which is an FDA-approved treatment for balding and a clinically-proven way to regrow hair.

The main problem with Provillus is that minoxidil can be purchased from just about any supermarket for a fraction of the cost of what you pay with Provillus. Rogaine, for example, uses minoxidil as its active ingredient.

If you want to pay an enormous premium for bundling minoxidil with a nutritional supplement that may or may not work, then Provillus is a good choice. If you’d rather save your money, then purchase a minoxidil treatment from a more reputable manufacturer like Rogaine and skip the nutritional supplement.

There just isn’t enough evidence supporting Provillus’s claims or high price tag at this time.
