The American Supplements Lab (ASL) claims to produce clinically tested cognitive enhancement supplements designed to help you become the best version of yourself. With a slogan like “Be the Best You”, we were intrigued by the company’s line of products.

In this review, we’ll be looking at the company and their products, and will provide you with an unbiased opinion about their products and their ingredients.

With the supplement subsector blowing up, and making so much money –the sector does about $122 USD billion annually in the US alone and is projected to do approximately $278 USD billion by 2024, unbiased reviews have become increasingly important.

This way, consumers don’t get hurt for spending a lot of money on supplements that were meant to help improve their health and cognition.

About American Supplements Labs

American Supplement Labs is a small health startup whose primary focus is on cognitive enhancement and nootropics supplements. But don’t’ let the fact that they are a startup fool you. The company claims that they employ rigorous quality control measures to ensure that their products adhere to the industry’s highest quality standards.

Some of their quality control measures which are performed both in-house and in independent third party labs include the use of methods like High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to verify product purity, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS) which detects even the tiniest amounts of impurities, and Water Activity analysis which helps determine the shelf life of their products.

dREM Sleep

Between being stressed, overworked and not getting enough deep, restorative sleep, the average adult American is a just one or two steps away from serious health issues as well as mistakes at work and in their personal lives. As a result, many often need sleep aids that helps them sleep better at night. Enter American Supplement Labs’ dREM Sleep.

The company claims that dREM Sleep supplement which contains a proprietary mix of minerals, natural hormones and amino acids can help you get better sleep. The products main ingredients include

  • Magnesium Aspartate -300mg
  • L-tryptophan -250mg
  • Gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) -150mg
  • 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) -50mg
  • Melatonin -1mg

Each of these ingredient are often useful aids in anti-anxiety treatment, mood elevation and immune boosting. For instance, GABA and magnesium have been linked to improved sleep because of their ability to help relax your body and inhibit the production of cortisol, the stress hormone. 5-HTP which is often produced naturally by the body, is also useful in the treatment of sleep disorders, anxiety relief and depression.

Unfortunately, the amount produced by the body is often insufficient, which necessitates the need for supplementation. When taken as a supplement, it gets broken down into serotonin and melatonin.

One of Melatonin’s function in the body is to help you relax so you can fall asleep. So, it does appear that dREM Sleep is essentially a combination of sleep inducing compounds, minerals and amino acids. dREM Sleep is currently priced at $35.99 for 30 capsules.

ChemiLift

ChemiLift claims to help you stay focused and energetic throughout the day. This is possible through its ingredients which give “clean” motivation and energy). When most people say they have “clean” energy, they mean, long, sustained, unrushed energy, unlike those produced by ingesting caffeine supplements and drinks.

According to the company, ChhemiLift was designed and has been clinically tested to help you compete better, enhance your cognitive processes so you’re able to process information faster, retain data, sustain your focus and concentration, limitless memory (this is doubtful) and enjoy improved memory recall. The supplement contains ingredients such as:

  • Magnesium Aspartate -150 mg
  • Vitamin B-6 -25 mg
  • Choline bitartate -250 mg
  • Inositol -250 mg
  • Avena sativa – 20 mg
  • L-Phenylalanine -150 mg
  • 20% Phosphatidylserine -75 mg
  • Acetyl L-carnitine -250 mg
  • L-Theanine -50 mg
  • Noopept -10 mg
  • Vinpocetine -2.5 mg
  • L-Tyrosine -150 mg
  • Alpha GPC -125 mg

Looking at all these ingredients, it is possible that their claims might be true seeing as most of these compounds are commonly used for cognitive enhancement purposes. It’s currently priced at $42.99 for 60 capsules.

Intensify

Athletes and fitness enthusiasts often need help to complete more reps, go more sets, go faster and harder, and in general improve their performance during workouts and sporting related activities.

As a result, many often turn to pre-workout supplements which help enhance their training sessions. Most of these however, only act as stimulants and primarily target your muscles. Yet, the most important organ, the brain, is left unattended. Intensify is American Supplement Labs’ answer to that.

The company claims it is the first ever pre-workout supplement targeted at preparing your brain for your workouts by enhancing your neuro-function. The goal therefore is to help improve your workout sessions resulting in more reps, sets and ultimately, more gains.

Whether these claims are true or not remain to be seen. It has similar ingredients to ChemiLift with the exception of caffeine and has no magnesium aspartate. It’s currently priced at $45.99 for 60 capsules.

Packaging And Branding

Unlike many other supplement companies, ASL’s branding is quite underwhelming. Now, we don’t know if “minimalism” aka barebones branding, was the intended design or they’re just careless about their branding. Either way, the good thing is you get to see what’s inside the bottles before you even take them. So, there’s that.

American Supplements Labs Review Summary

The company does a great of job of being transparent –you can easily reach the team and the CEO is not camera-shy. While the company’s list of ingredients for each of their products are in line with the industry standards and other popular proven nootropic supplements, there’s sparse reviews on the products themselves.

Maybe it’s because they are new entrants into the market, and many people haven’t used them yet. That said, they do offer a 30-day money back guarantee, which makes them reputable and honest. So, you can take the supplements for a spin, and if they don’t work, simply request a refund.

In the final analysis, all the supplementation in the world won’t help you become faster, stronger and brighter if you don’t make the necessary lifestyle adjustments. It’s not just about taking the pills and hoping you feel better. Sure, many of these nootropics work even without making any lifestyle changes. But they are usually more effective and produce longer lasting results when you adopt a healthier lifestyle.
