StimFit – BodyLogic’s Ab Shaping Swiss Stimulation Technology?

on

StimFit is a body training device that electronically stimulates your abs to give you a six pack with minimal effort. Read our review to find out if StimFit really works as advertised.

What is StimFit?

StimFit, found online at GetStimFit.com, is an exercise training system that relies on electronic muscle stimulation (EMS) technology to give you stronger, firmer, better abs.

Have you been doing sit-ups and reducing your calories to get abs? You’ve been doing it wrong! StimFit claims you don’t need to do any of those things. By simply wearing their belt, you’ll get the “best abs you’ll ever have”.

The training system was created by a company called BodyLogic. It’s priced at around $200. It’s also endorsed by Leah Garcia, a fitness expert, author, and TV personality.

The device was invented by Dale Henn, who first pioneered the introduction of Ems technology to the United States in 2003 when devices like Slendertone and Complex, then followed it up with the Contour Core Sculpting System in 2008.

How Does StimFit Work?

StimFit sounds a little too good to be true: so can you really get rock hard abs simply by wearing a vibrating belt a few times a week?

StimFit claims to rely on something called “Swiss stimulation technology”. If it’s made in Switzerland, it has to work, right?

The device itself looks like a WWE championship belt. It covers most of your waist area, from your hips up to your belly button. Your wrap it tightly around your body then turn it on. The device sends electronic signals into your body to tingle your muscles, causing similar effects to a good ab workout.

While wearing the device, it promises to work both your abs and your lower back. You activate the belt to run through different programs. You can program it for increased endurance, for example, or to improve your muscle strength. There’s also a program to increase blood flow, or to soothe back pain.

The secret behind StimFit is in its ability to send “bio-identical electronic signals to muscle nerves located just beneath the skin to activate muscles”.

These signals are similar to the signals your body receives when you’re working out – like the signals your abs get when you’re contracting and expanding the muscles during a sit-up.

As the makers of StimFit explain, the device “does what the brain can’t do”. It activates 100% of the muscles in the region to give you better muscle contractions and perfect repetitions.

If your sit-up form or crunch form isn’t perfect, then StimFit may be able to help you get better abs regardless.

Some of the specific benefits of StimFit include:

  • Compression belt for shape
  • Easy-to-use and wear, it’s just a Velcro snap
  • Covers all of your lower back
  • Increases circulation
  • Increases strength
  • Increases endurance
  • Relieves tight muscles and back pain

Scientific Evidence for StimFit

StimFit cites a study where researchers used electronic muscle stimulation (EMS) on sedentary muscles to increase calorie burning by 16%. In another study, researchers were able to increase calorie burning by 20%.

There was also a study where they raised it by 50%. The StimFit website also shows thermographic images of exercisers who did 50 sit-ups or who wore the exercise belt for 5 minutes.

The group that wore the exercise belt has a large warm patch across their entire ab region, while the group that just did 50 sit-ups only has a warm patch across the top of their abs.

You can view these studies and images at the StimFit page here. The company is open and honest about EMS studies, and they link to the PDF files supporting their research. That being said, there’s one problem with these studies: they didn’t actually involve the StimFit.

They involved other EMS technology. It’s possible that StimFit works as effectively as these systems, or it’s possible that it doesn’t. We would have liked to have seen independent research specifically involving the StimFit.

About BodyLogic

BodyLogic is a Minnesota-based company headquartered at the following address:

4444 W 76th Street Suite 450

Edina, MN 55435

You can contact the company by email at [email protected]. Or, you can call them at 1-612-248-2330.

The company sells a wide range of EMS shapewear that uses the same “Swiss stimulation technology” you see in StimFit. There’s EMS shapewear for your butt, for example, or socks that enhance circulation down through your toes. You can theoretically wear EMS shapewear over all parts of your body, or use the StimFit Strips to apply them to specific muscles.

StimFit Review Summary

StimFit is obviously a unique training system. The system relies on electronic muscle stimulation, which gently sends electrical impulses into your muscles in a “bio-identical” way to the signals your muscles receive while exercising.

StimFit doesn’t just promise to replicate the effects of exercise – it claims to be better than exercise at training your abs, giving you a flat tummy, and getting you in the best shape of your life.

In promotional images, we see people using the StimFit while lying on the couch – so instead of sweating at the gym, you can relax at home while enjoying the same level of activity.

At least, that’s the idea behind StimFit. We’re skeptical that it works as advertised – despite a handful of studies showing EMS can help you burn more calories.

Still, StimFit’s ab training system comes with a 30 day money back guarantee – so you can try it yourself and return it if you’re unhappy with the results. Just be aware that your purchase comes with a $30 restocking fee (15% of your purchase).
