It can help shrink your pores and help reduce the acne-causing bacteria in your skin which will clear your skin up as well.

  • Potassium – Potassium will help hydrate your skin and make sure it gets enough moisture. It will help lock in the moisture, preventing dry skin. It can also help prevent oily skin by locking in moisture so your skin doesn’t create excess oil it if is too dry.

Acne-Busting Egg White Face Mask

This egg white based face mask combines the anti bacterial properties of honey with the skin benefits of egg whites. It is meant to reduce inflammation and get rid of acne.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon of honey

Honey is a great ingredient because it contains natural antiseptic and antibacterial enzymes that will help clean out the bacteria that clogs pores and causes acne. Lemon juice is a powerful astringent that will lighten the skin and help repair discoloration from the blemishes.

Directions:

  1. Mix together the egg white and lemon juice in a clean mixing bowl. The lemon juice will neutralize the scent of the egg white. When the mixture is frothy and bubbly, add the honey and mix together well.
  2. Wash your face with your normal cleanser and warm water. The warm water will help open your pores so the mask can clean them out.
  3. Use a cotton ball or clean hands to apply the mask to the face. Relax and allow the mixture to dry on your face (approximately 15-20 minutes)
  4. Gently scrub the mixture off of your face with a soft washcloth. Using circular motions, make sure that you get the mask completely off your face. Once your face is completely clean, pat dry with a towel and apply moisturizer or toner of your choice.

Tips:

  • When applying the mixture start from your chin and work up to your cheeks using small circular motions.
  • Avoid using this mask in sensitive skin areas such as the eyes and around the mouth. These areas have much less skin than others and can become damaged with too much product on them.

Skin Lightening Egg White Face Mask

This egg white face mask is great for evening your skin tone back out after you clear blemishes. It can also take care of dark spots or bags under the eyes. It is perfect for brightening your skin tone and replenishing your skin.

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 teaspoon orange juice
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

Orange juice (citrus) is a known skin toner and is used in many different natural skin care products. Turmeric reduces dark spots and can help even out your complexion.

Directions:

  1. Mix together the egg white and orange juice in a clean mixing bowl. The citrus in the orange juice will neutralize the scent of the egg white. When the mixture is frothy and bubbly, add the turmeric and mix it in well (also, you need to ensure that the mixture is not too runny, or it will not do well as a mask-type product).
  2. Wash your face with your normal cleanser and warm water. The warm water will help open your pores so the mask can clean them out.
  3. Use a cotton ball or clean hands to apply the mask to the face. Lay down to help the mixture absorb deep into your skin (instead of it dripping off while you are standing up or sitting).
  4. Gently scrub the mixture off of your face with a soft washcloth. Using circular motions, make sure that you get the mask completely off your face. Once your face is completely clean, pat dry with a towel and apply moisturizer or toner of your choice. (olive oil is a great natural moisturizer for after this mask. You can use 3-4 drops, rubbed on your face in gentle, circular motions).

Tips:

  • Turmeric can stain clothing, so wear a cover over your clothes or an old shirt.
  • Egg whites can dry your skin if you do not properly moisturize after the mask is off.
  • Try not to move your face too much while you are setting and the mask is drying, or it can stretch and pull your skin and actually cause wrinkles.

Hydrating Egg White Face Mask

Egg whites don’t only clear blemishes and acne, but they can be very nourishing and moisturizing too, when paired with the right ingredients! The egg whites can feed your skin and help it repair itself, and when paired with a food that contains natural fats, this can mean beautiful, moist skin. This face mask is designed to drench your skin in moisture and restore balance and beauty.

Ingredients

:

  • 1 egg white
  • ¼ ripe avocado
  • 1 teaspoon yogurt

Avocado is an intensely moisturizing ingredient because it has natural fats that hydrate and nourish the skin. Yogurt contains live cultures and good bacteria that kill off bad bacteria that causes acne. It can help moisturize and nourish dry skin.

Directions:

  1. Mash the avocado into a paste. Make sure that you get all of the chunks out of it.
  2. Add the egg white and yogurt and mix together until you get a creamy consistency.
  3. Wash your face with your normal cleanser and warm water. The warm water will help open your pores so the mask can clean them out.
  4. Use a cotton ball or clean hands to apply the mask to the face. Lay down to help the mixture absorb deep into your skin.
  5. Gently wash the mixture off of your face with a soft washcloth. Pat your skin dry with a towel. For extra moisture, apply a light moisturizer or oil while your skin is still damp.

Tips:

  • Use a fresh, ripe avocado it is easier to mash into a smooth paste.
  • Use unsweetened, unflavored yogurt in this mask recipe.
