Andarine SARM – Does It Boost Lean Muscle Mass?

Andarine Review

Andarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) prized for its ability to boost lean muscle mass and increase bone density. Here’s our Andarine review.

What is Andarine?

Andarine is a SARM developed by GTX, Inc. GTX originally developed the compound to treat conditions like muscle wasting, osteoporosis, and an enlarged prostate. Today, it’s more popular among the bodybuilding community, where Andarine is praised for its steroid-like benefits.

Out of the four most popular SARMs available today, Andarine is typically viewed as the “weakest” in terms of raw, steroid-like benefits. Since the drug was originally developed for medical purposes, it doesn’t offer the same dangerous side effects as SARMs like Ostarine, LGD-4033, and others.

Andarine is also known as S-4, S4, or SARM S4 – so if you see people talking about any of these things online, then you know they’re talking about Andarine.

How Does Andarine Work?

Andarine works in a similar way to most SARMs – it selectively targets certain androgen receptors in your body, maximizing the benefits of steroid-like compounds while minimizing the downsides.

Andarine also has the unique ability to dry out your muscles and the skin surrounding those muscles – which can help increase your tone, reduce fat, and benefit your cut. This is the same reason why Andarine is prized for weight loss.

At the same time, Andarine is also used to build and repair muscle.

Many people compare the effects of Andarine to the popular steroid Winstrol.

Benefits of Andarine

— Cutting (this is the most popular use for Andarine)
— Non-methylated
— Provides a hard and dry look by tightening your skin and drying out muscle
— Stimulates fat loss
— Minimizes estrogen conversion
— Full PCT is not recommended by some users (but you should probably still do it just in case)
— Inexpensive

How to Use Andarine

Andarine is typically used at doses of 50mg. Doses beyond that amount can lead to some unwanted side effects.

One reviewer at Evolutionary.org claimed to gradually increase Andarine throughout his cycle before doing post-cycle therapy:

— Week 1: 50mg
— Week 2: 60mg
— Week 3: 70mg
— Week 4: 100mg
— Week 5: 125mg

By week 5, the reviewer noted that he had permanently yellow eyes and no night vision – similar to what happens when you take certain steroids for a long period of time. Andarine’s yellow eyes side effect appears to be particularly common when taking prolonged doses over 50mg. The reviewer concluded that “sides [side effects] far outweigh the benefits at this dose”

Nevertheless, the reviewer also reported massive increases in strength and endurance and increased lean muscle mass. By week 5, he claims he felt like he was on Winstrol or Anavar.

Ultimately, that reviewer went on to recommend that you use Andarine for 5 days on, 2 days off at doses of 50mg to negate any side effects.

He also recommended post cycle therapy.

If you’re taking Andarine to reduce symptoms of gynecomastia, then the reviewer recommended a cycle of 6 days on, 1 day off at doses of 20mg.

Is Andarine Legal?

Andarine, like all SARMs, is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency according to their 2008 decision. So if you’re participating in any type of athletic competition under the jurisdiction of that agency, then you should probably not take Andarine.

If, however, you’re taking Andarine for personal use, then the supplement is in a bit of a grey area: at this point, nobody is really sure whether or not SARMs are legal or illegal. The FDA’s 2014 decision to enact the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act (DASCA) made it effectively illegal to sell anabolic steroids, making SARMs the next-best legal alternative.

However, even the most optimist bodybuilding supplement manufacturers don’t believe that SARMs like Andarine will stay legal for very long.

Part of the problem lies in the supplement’s powerful medical benefits. As mentioned above, the supplement was initially created in order to reduce enlarged prostate problems, treat osteoporosis, and reduce symptoms of muscle wasting disease. As a result, many people classify Andarine as an actively researched medical drug – which should thus disqualify it as a nutritional supplement and put it under the jurisdiction of the FDA.

Nevertheless, Andarine hasn’t faced the same scrutiny as other SARMs like Ostarine and it has not been the subject of any lawsuits.

How to Buy Andarine

S4 (Andarine) is available from a small number of retailers online. Companies like SARMS1 sell S4 (Andarine) at doses of 50mgs/mL @ 30mL for $79.99.

Even at the sales page for Andarine on SARMS1.com, the retailer admits that the product is “intended as a research chemical only” and “bodily introduction of any kind into humans or animals is strictly forbidden by law.”
