Kyowa Hakko introduced the Setria Performance Blend on April 27, 2017 in New York. The company recently completed testing in resistance-trained males. Prior to launching the Setria Performance Blend, the company had sold a popular supplement called Setria with Glutathione. The Setria Performance Blend promises to be a new and improved version of that formula.
Kyowa Hakko doesn’t sell Setria supplements directly: the company partners with third-party manufacturers. You can buy Setria as part of other nutritional supplements, for example. Setria-based supplements can be found on Amazon and at nutritional supplement retailers worldwide.
Scientific Evidence for Setria
The manufacturer of Setria, Kyowa Hakko, recently completed testing on resistance-trained males. In those tests, Setria proved to be more effective than other NO-boosting compounds.
Participants in the study were measured passed on their nitrate concentration. After taking a placebo or L-citrulline, participants had a nitrate concentration of around 3.1. After taking Setria, that concentration rose to about 3.3. A combination of Setria and L-citrulline, however, improved the concentration to over 4.0.
Participants in this study took 200mg of Setria for one week orally along with 2g of L-citrulline. NO levels were measured at 30 minutes post-exercise.
Benefits of Setria
The key benefit of Setria is that it can enhance the effectiveness of L-citrulline. According to the company’s research, L-citrulline doesn’t work very well on its own. By combining it with Setria, however, you can significantly raise post-workout nitric oxide levels in your bloodstream. The three advertised benefits of Setria include:
