Purest Pour – Aerus Water Pitcher To Remove Heavy Metals?

on

Purest Pour is an As Seen On TV water pitcher filtration system that promises to remove impurities from your water. Find out how it works today in our Purest Pour review.

What is Purest Pour?

Purest Pour is a water pitcher that comes with a built-in filtration system. At first glance, it looks similar to a Brita water pitcher (or one of the many other water pitcher filtration systems on the market). You pour water into the top of the pitcher, and it filters through into the container below.

Purest Pour has recently been advertised through a series of TV infomercials. It’s yet another As Seen On TV product.

The water pitcher is priced at around $20 for the pitcher with a filter. The pitcher is relatively cheap, although you need to sign up for the filter replacement program. You won’t be able to buy additional filters at any store – which is how they hook you.

Purest Pour is made by a company named Aerus.

Purest Pour Features

Purest Pour comes with all of the following features:

-Four Stage Filter: Designed to remove the tiniest and “most dangerous impurities”. The makers of Purest Pour claim it specifically removes lead, mercury, cadmium, “bad taste”, and odor from your water. The four filters include a micro net, ion-exchange resin, activated carbon, and another micro net at the bottom.

-Electronic Filter Monitor: Lets you know when the filter needs to be changed.

-BPA Free: The plastic container and filtration system has no BPAs

-Large Container: Holds 12 cups of water

-Create Purified Water: Purest Pour meets FDA and NSF definitions for purified water.

That last feature is important. Purest Pour claims that it’s “one of the only filters that meets the FDA and NSF definition for purified water.”

Why would you need a water filter like this? The makers of Purest Pour claim that our water systems are crumbling. Aging infrastructure is causing harmful toxins and metals to seep into our drinking water. Purest Pour is being advertised as a way to stand up for your health and protect your family.

It’s important to note that the makers of Purest Pour never actually explain the filtration percentage of their water filter. Other filters make claims that they remove 99.9999% of contaminants from the water. Purest Pour doesn’t mention anything about this.

Purest Pour Pricing

Like most As Seen On TV products, Purest Pour advertises one price upfront, only to hide a higher price in the fine print. Here’s how the pricing works for Purest Pour:

-Purest Pour Pitcher: $39.99 + $9.95 Shipping (Includes one pitcher and one filter)

-Purest Pour Pitcher (With Filter Autoship Program): $14.95 (plus $36.90 every 2 months)

The $14.95 option forces you to sign up for a filter autoship program, where you receive replacement filters every 2 months until you cancel. You can cancel at any time.

Overall, Purest Pour is upfront about the terms and conditions of its autoship program. It doesn’t hide the pricing details in the fine print. Still, it’s a little misleading to claim that Purest Pour costs $14.95.

Oddly enough, Aerus doesn’t mention how many filters you get through the replacement program. However, they claim that filters need to be replaced every 40 gallons. In most households, that’s about 60 days’ worth of water. In other words, you’re paying $36.90 every 2 months for one filter.

To cancel your autoship program, you’ll need to call Aerus 10 days before your scheduled shipment. You can call the company at 1-888-764-0693.

Purest Pour Review Summary

Purest Pour appears to be capitalizing on the hype of water filtration systems despite the fact that it’s an average water filter. With Purest Pour, you’re paying $37 for one water filter (Aerus doesn’t actually disclose how many filters it ships with its autoship program, although it appears to be just one single filter every 2 months).

That water filter comes with four built-in filters, although two of those filters are just mesh nets. The other two filters are activated carbon and an ion exchange resin. Aerus does not list any tests confirming the effectiveness of the filters. They also don’t explain how much of the contaminants are filtered out – which is a problem considering competitors like Brita advertise 99.9999% effectiveness.

Overall, Purest Pour appears to be an average water filter that comes with a high price tag. There just isn’t enough information to support its filtration effectiveness. You’re better off buying a water filter from a more reputable brand.
