Propecia – FDA Approved Hair Loss Treatment

Propecia Review – Does It Work?

Hair thinning and hair long among men is a rampant problem that is often treated as irreversible an untreatable. Current statics show that 95% of male hair loss is caused by Alopecia. The condition normally sets in around age 35 and gradually increases in severity as a man ages. If you are currently experiencing hair loss, then you are not alone and you are also not relegated to your condition; there are actually some great treatments on the market.

One of the most popular treatments that everyone is buzzing about is called Propecia. Before you try this product, here is an overview of everything that you need to know.

What is Propecia?

Propecia is a revolutionary medication that helps treat hair loss in men. Taking one 5mg tablet of the medication on a daily basis can help reverse hair loss and enable you to keep any existing hair that you have left. The best quality about this product is that it is recognized as one of the easiest and most convenient methods to obtaining a head of lush and beautiful hair. In addition, unlike most products on the market, Propecia is known for its all-natural results. Those who developed the product advocated for non-harmful ingredients so that you can use a product that has no serious side effects.

Generic and Brand Name

If you look into Propecia, you will notice that there are different versions of the product. While Finasteride and Proscar are generic names for the product, it does not necessarily mean that they are exactly the same thing. These two products were mainly developed to combat other health conditions like enlarged prostate glands and unlike Prospecia, they do not contain the same mechanisms of action.

It was during the drug trials with these generic products that researchers understood that the products also help cure make hair loss. Dissimilar to Prospecia though, these products do not contain the same dosage of the mechanisms of action. For example, in 1997 the FDA approved an online 1 mg dose of Finasteride to treat male pattern baldness. Compared to Finasteride, Propecia uses a larger dose and is much more effective in treating baldness.

The Ideal Candidate

The good news about Propecia is that it is ideal for any man who is seeking to reduce hair loss and to retain his full head of hair. There is no exact age for the appropriate user, but based on statistics, it seems that the average male taking Propecia is over the age of 35.

Hair loss is not the only issue that Propecia is effective in treatment. Men who are experiencing hair thinning, bald spots, secession, and any other hair issues are ideal candidates for the product. Another great quality about the product is that the results are clinically proven to work.

In clinical studies, it was found that 83% of users experienced retention of existing hair and in addition, continuous use of the product also enabled hair growth that restored a majority of hair that led to less baldness overall. With this product, you can certainly get the results that you are aiming for.

How Does Propecia Work?

As with every product you use, it is imperative to understand how the product works. By understanding how the product works, you can better compare the product to other options on the market.

Male baldness occurs when the body starts to combine free floating testosterone and an enzyme known as 5-alpha reductase. The interaction then leads to the creation of a sexual hormone called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone). As hair loss starts taking place, the empty hair follicles release DHT at the receptor site. Upon attachment, the receptor site (hair follicle) then treats the follicle as a foreign object. As a result, itching, oiliness, and inflammation takes place and hair growth at the particular follicle starts to slow down.

As you can imagine, Propecia remedies the problem by blocking the development of DHT. By lowering your body’s levels of DHT, your hair follicles will stop releasing the hormone and continue to produce full and normal hair.

While male baldness may seem like a natural and commonplace occurrence among mot males, it does not necessarily mean that it is a condition that you have to suffer through.

The Rumored Side Effect

There is a rumor going around that Propecia leads to a loss of libido, no sex drive, and even pain in the groin area. All of these rumors do seem logical, since to provide you with results, the product essentially drastically reduces the development of a sex hormone in your body.

At the heart of it – the rumors are partly true. Not everyone who takes Propecia suffers from the negative side effect of the product. If you do end up taking Propecia and are unhappy with the results in the sense that they lead to a loss of sex drive, then you can stop altogether and your drive will return within days. Keep in mind though that once you stop taking Propecia, your hair loss will go back to its natural condition.

Other than this minor issue, no other side effects have been reported and in general, many people are very happy with the results. Currently, Propecia is the only FDA approved hair renewal product on the market. With the obvious results and the FDA approval, you really are getting a product that works and that is effective at treating hair loss.

Overall, if you are looking to combat hair loss, then Propecia is the product to go with. With this product, you can get a lush head of beautiful hair that you can be proud of. Another thing to note about the product is that it does not come cheap. One pill is $2 and you need to take the product on a daily basis to maintain results. Worse, insurance companies do not foot the bill. Regardless, if you are able to afford the product and do choose to buy it, then you really are making the right choice since it does work.
