Pasta Perfecto – Microwave Cooker For Making All Noodle Types?

on

Pasta Perfecto is a convenient and easy to use microwave pasta cooker that takes the guesswork out of cooking pasta. Here's our Pasta Perfecto Review.

What Is Pasta Perfecto?

Pasta Perfecto is a plastic rectangular container with a specialized lid that makes it easy to measure uncooked portions of pasta and then cook them in the microwave with the aid of some water.

There are several pre-cut holes in the product's lid to aid in sizing pasta and draining it after it's been cooked. The bin itself has fill lines on the side to be used as a gauge for filling with water.

Pasta Perfecto Features: How Does It Work?

One of Pasta Perfecto's main selling points is its ease of use. To cook some pasta, first, you gather a handful of spaghetti and measure it with one of the round holes in the top of the lid.

These holes are meant to measure a certain amount of uncooked spaghetti, with larger holes being bigger food portions.

Once you've selected how much pasta you would like to cook, you remove the lid and place the pasta in the plastic bin. You then fill the bin to the appropriate fill line on the side and then replace the bin.

Cooking the pasta itself is as easy as placing the sealed bin in the microwave and pressing a few buttons. After just a few minutes, your pasta will be ready.

At this point you can take it from the microwave to drain. The other side of the lid, opposite the round sizing holes, features several long vents that make it easy to drain the water out of the bin once the pasta has been fully cooked.

Simply drain the excess water into the sink, remove the lid, and place the pasta on your plate. It's as simple as that.

Who Makes Pasta Perfecto?

Pasta Perfecto is made and marketed by a US-based company known as APG. Unfortunately, there's little information about who's behind the company besides a vague location being somewhere on the East Coast.

That APG does offer is a telephone contact number: (877)885-7154.

This number has been associated with several other “as seen on TV” type products, but again all of the promotional materials for these products don't provide any contact information for APG besides this phone number.

As it stands, “APG” is a rather vague acronym. This makes it just about impossible to pin down which of the literally dozens of companies calling themselves APG makes Pasta Perfecto and which doesn't.

Pasta Perfecto Materials

Pasta Perfecto is made from BPA and BPS-free plastic. The product is sturdy and reusable.

In addition to being microwave safe (obviously), Pasta Perfecto is also dishwasher safe for easy clean-up.

Pasta Perfecto Pricing

Pasta Perfecto currently retails for $14.99 plus $4.99 shipping and processing. This includes:

  • 1 Pasta Perfecto microwave pasta cooker with sizing/strainer lid
  • 1 Recipe Guide, complete with cooking times and recipe ideas for cooking other pasta dishes as well as vegetable dishes
  • 1 bonus cheese grater

However, customers can get a second set of the Pasta Perfecto product by just paying a separate $4.99 shipping and processing fee. This doubles the order completely – 2 pasta cookers, 2 recipe guides, and 2 graters.

APG provides a full 60-day money back guarantee on its product.

Pasta Perfecto Reviews: What Do Customers Have to Say?

Pasta Perfecto seems like a brand-new product. To that end, there are no reviews of this product to be found online.

That being said, Pasta Perfecto isn't the first product of its kind. There are countless other microwavable pasta cookers on the market that are practically identical to Pasta Perfecto.

We went through several of the reviews for these products to find some common benefits and drawbacks to using microwavable pasta cookers similar to Pasta Perfecto.

Pros:

  • Safe – no need to deal with an open pot of boiling water
  • Quick – pasta in a fraction of the time of the traditional method
  • Easy Clean Up – dishwasher-safe means clean-up is a breeze
  • Convenient – ideal for dorms, RVs, campers, or anywhere there's a microwave and not a stove

Cons:

  • Gluten-free problems – some say these products have trouble cooking gluten-free pastas
  • Possible boil-over – a few have reported boil-overs when using the lid in the microwave
  • Small size – the product may be too small for larger families to cook several servings at once

Pasta Perfecto Summary

While we don't have any information about how Pasta Perfecto itself works specifically, microwavable pasta cookers that are designed the same way as Pasta Perfecto seem to work quite well and to leave a long trail of satisfied customers behind them.

The best of these pasta cookers are also available for about the same price of the Pasta Perfecto, but none offer a “buy one, get one free” special.

This makes Pasta Perfecto a pretty attractive offer, but do keep in mind that while its retail price is just $14.99, those shipping and processing fees will begin to add up – increasing the price to close to $20 for just one and nearly $25 for two. You may want to shop around a bit to see if you can find a better deal first.
