Orogold Cosmetics Review
Orogold Cosmetics is a lineup of makeup and body care products made by an American company named Orogold. Here’s our Orogold Cosmetics review.
What Are Orogold Cosmetics?
Orogold Cosmetics are makeup products created by an American company called Orogold. Many of the makeup products contain real gold.
The company’s wide range of products includes daily essentials, moisturizers, serums, masks, eye care, men’s products, DMAE products, and more. There are dozens of products to help you look and stay beautiful throughout the day.
Orogold Cosmetics are sold at pop-up stores across the country. You can find Orogold Cosmetics retailers at many malls in the United States and Canada, for example. You can also order Orogold products online from Orogold.com.
Orogold calls itself the “world’s leading brand of luxury gold infused skincare products” and promises to provide products that carry customers “away to a spa in your mind.”
The skin care and cosmetics products are typically priced higher than you might expect, with average products priced at around $150 for a one month supply and more premium products priced at $400 or more.
Orogold Cosmetics Products
Orogold Cosmetics sells a wide range of cosmetics products across seven different categories. Those categories include:
Men’s Collection
This three-product collection includes products catered specifically towards men.
— 24K Men’s Hydrating Moisturizer ($118): Fights dry skin using gold, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, and green tea extract.
— 24K Men’s Pre-Shave Facial Serum ($158): Contains gold, aloe extract, and citrus extract to soften facial hair and skin before shaving.
— 24K Men’s After Shave Balm ($118): Uses a combination of gold and aloe extract to calm the skin after shaving, moisturize your skin, and “provide a gentle fragrance”.
24K Vitamin C Collection
This collection contains products that rely on the power of vitamin C to purify and refresh the skin while removing fine lines and wrinkles. Products include:
— 24K Vitamin C Booster Facial Serum ($198): Contains gold, vitamin E, and vitamin C to brighten your skin and diminish the appearance of wrinkles.
— 24K Vitamin C Facial Cleanser ($108): Gentle facial cleanser that contains gold and vitamin C to create a gentle foaming action that removes dirt, oil, and makeup.
— 24K Vitamin C Mask ($218): Contains gold, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, witch hazel extract, and tangerine fruit extract to smooth, brighten, and nourish the skin.
24K Bionic Collection
The 24K Bionic Collection reduces the formation of wrinkles by effectively stiffening your skin. The key ingredient here is acetyl hexapeptide, which can be reduce the movement of your smile muscles and other muscles that create fine lines.
— 24K Bionic Complex Cream ($198): Contains gold, acetyl hexapeptide 3, and palmitoyl oligopeptide to “reduce the contractions of facial muscles” and thereby reduce the formation of wrinkles.
— 24K Bionic Complex Serum ($198): Contains the same ingredients as the cream but is available in a sprayable liquid.
— 24K Bionic Complex Thermal Mask ($298): Contains vitamin C, vitamin E, gold, and acetyl hexapeptide 3 to create a heating sensation when applied to the skin. This heat reduces the appearance of wrinkles while targeting toxins and washing them away.
24K Lielle Collection for Sensitive Skin
This product lineup is exclusively for people with sensitive skin. The entire lineup contains gold (just like the other Orogold products) although the formula is less harsh.
— 24K Sensitive Skin Cleanser ($128): Provides advanced cleansing action using ingredients like Lauryl Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Sarcosinate, Glycerin, Polyquaternium-7, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Olea Europea Fruit Extract, and Peg-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate.
— 24K Sensitive Skin Encapsulated Serum ($778): This unique and high-priced skin care product comes in the form of small capsules. You use those capsules weekly and rub them into sensitive skin to kickstart your body’s natural repairs. Key ingredients include Isododecane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Plukenetia Volubilis Seed Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Citronellyl Methylcrotonate, Tocopheryl Acetate, and Gold.
— 24K Sensitive Skin Eye Cream ($248): This skin cream is designed to improve the appearance of dull and tired eyes using ingredients like gold, Olea Europea Fruit Oil, and Butylene Glycol.
— 24K Sensitive Eye Serum ($248): Uses the same ingredients as the eye cream above, but is available in the form of a serum.
— 24K Sensitive Skin Hydrating Moisturizer ($198): Promises to hydrate your skin using ingredients like gold along with xanthan gum, zea mays germ oil, PEG-100 stearate, and Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer
Typically, when a skin care product calls its lineup of products “sensitive”, it switches to natural ingredients instead of synthetic formulas. Orogold appears to have taken a different approach: all of the sensitive skin creams still contain potential irritants like gold, but they also contain synthetic formulas that could dry out or irritate your skin even further.
24K Collagen Collection
This collection is specifically designed to boost your skin’s collagen production using gold and other ingredients. Collagen is responsible for creating your skin’s natural elasticity. As you age, collagen production decreases.
— 24K Collagen & Seaweed Mask ($398): Contains gold, seaweed, collagen, and aloe vera to “balance skin moisture levels and increase elasticity” without the need for painful collagen injections.
— 24K Collagen Renewal Serum ($298): Contains gold, beta-glucan, and collagen to reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.
— 24K Collagen Renewal Cream ($248): Priced slightly cheaper than the serum, the cream can be spread on your skin to smooth and plump it.
— 24K Collagen Renewal Night Repair ($248): Designed to be applied overnight, this skin cream contains gold, pamitoyl oligopeptide, sodium hyaluronate, and collagen to reduce the appearance of wrinkles while you sleep.
24K DMAE Collection
DMAE is a well-known skin care ingredient that has been shown to plump and smooth the skin. This collection focuses on combining gold and DMAE together.
— 24K DMAE Instant Stretching Mask ($278): This mask is designed to be used once a week and uses gold, DMAE, vitamin A, and vitamin E to soothe your face over the course of 15 to 20 minutes.
— 24K DMAE Lifting Concentrate Serum ($298): Reduces the appearance of wrinkles using vitamin C, vitamin A, gold, and DMAE.
— 24K DMAE Deep Wrinkle Tightening Solution ($318): Contains gold and DMAE to boost skin elasticity and “fight the appearance of aging in your skin”.
— 24K DMAE Lifting and Firming Cream ($298): Tightens, smoothes, and lifts the skin using a combination of vitamin C, vitamin E, gold, and DMAE.
24K Bio-Brightening Collection
This collection involves using unique ingredients like mother of pearl to reduce the appearance of unsightly blemishes and smooth out your uneven skin tone.
— 24K Bio-Brightening Complex Peeling ($148): This cream is designed to be used once or twice per week on dampened skin. Key ingredients include mother of pearl, calendula, and vitamin C.
— 24K Bio-Brightening Pigment Balancing Mask ($378): Uses vitamin A, vitamin B5, and oligopeptide-68 to spread an even glow across your skin.
— 24K Bio-Brightening Dark Spot Solution ($378): This targeted solution is designed to be rubbed on dark spots once or twice per day to slowly remove them over time.
— 24K Bio-Brightening Skin Tone Moisturizer SPF 30 ($298): Protects your skin from sun damage while healing current sun damage using ingredients like green tea extract, aloe, and vitamin E.

Does Gold Actually Work for Skin Care?
Gold is found in virtually every Orogold product listed above. The manufacturer does not disclose how much gold is in each product. But since the products are priced so high, we’re led to think that there’s a significant amount of gold in each skin care product (gold is currently priced at around $1,100 per ounce).
On the company’s official website, Orogold has published a few paragraphs explaining its use of gold in its skin care supplements.
Orogold claims that gold has been used in healing and skin care for millennia:
“Cleopatra was said to have slept in a gold mask to preserve her beauty. Chinese empresses were also drawn to the metal and included it in their beauty routines.”
In more modern times, Orogold also claims that gold has become popular in medical treatments. Gold salts were used to cure arthritis in the early 1900s, for example. Colloidal gold, which is a suspension of gold in a liquid formula, has been shown to be particularly valuable for its anti-inflammatory effects.
Additionally, spas around the world use gold to help women look more beautiful:
…we know one thing for sure – gold is the ultimate in skin care indulgence. Many of the world’s top spas offer facials with gold infused products or even gold facials with actual gold leaf.
Scientifically speaking, gold doesn’t seem to be quite as powerful as Orogold claims. One major study showed that using gold in skin care actually accelerated the aging process. That study was published in Nanotoxicology and concluded that gold nanoparticles accumulate in your body and disrupt cellular functions.
Researchers showed that even small exposure to nanoparticle gold “interfered with cell division and collagen contraction”, both of which are necessary for your body’s natural skin repair functions.
Thus, researchers concluded that:
“Disrupting these vital cell processes also accelerated wrinkle formation and triggered the onset of diabetes, but what's more disturbing was that it threw genetic regulation off-course and stopped the cells from becoming fat cells.”
In other words, gold was worse than useless at repairing skin damage – no matter what skin care manufacturers like Orogold want you to think.
Nevertheless, skin care companies that use gold often counter these statements by talking about how they made a new formula that uses gold in the correct amount, or that they use a unique colloidal gold formula that has better bioavailability.
How to Buy Orogold Cosmetics Products
You can buy Orogold Cosmetics products online from Orogold.com or OrogoldCosmetics.com.
All the prices for Orogold products have been listed above. After filling up your “bag” (Orogold doesn’t call it a shopping cart), you check out using PayPal or your credit card.
If you don’t want to shop online, then you can also buy Orogold Cosmetics products from retail locations across The United States and Canada.
Orogold Cosmetics Retail Locations
Orogold Cosmetics retail locations can be found at malls across the country. These stores are infamous for their pushy salespeople. Many of the Orogold Cosmetics reviews found online claim they walk into a store to be greeted by salespeople who, as one reviewer put it, “prey on your insecurities”.
These salespeople also start bargaining and negotiating with you in an effort to make the sale. That same reviewer said she wanted to buy a product that retails for $178. The salesperson told her that just for today, they had a 2 for 1 deal that would give her the product for $178 along with a free moisturizer. The same salesperson “also tried to push a $400 mask on me.”
Other tactics include the employee offering to let the customer use his “employee discount”, which dropped the price for the $178 product down to $150. But the most controversial tactic used by Orogold Cosmetics retail locations involves the infamous “return policy” scam, which you’ll learn about below.
Orogold Cosmetics Return Policy
If you Google Orogold Cosmetics, you’ll find dozens of complaints online about their refund and return policy.
Here’s how most of the complaints work:
— The customer purchases an Orogold Cosmetics product from a brick-and-mortar retail location in a mall
— The customer asks the salesperson if a refund is available if they’re unhappy with the product or it doesn’t work and the salesperson always says “of course”
— After the credit card transaction has been completed, the salesperson hands over the receipt in a sealed envelope. Once the customer gets home and opens that sealed envelope, they realize that the receipt says “NO RETURNS” across the top.
Some people claim to have allergic reactions to the product and are unable to use it (some people are sensitive to gold, for example). These people file complaints because they’re unable to return their products and are unable to use the products either. Since the products are priced as high as $150 or more, they’re left with an expensive product that they cannot use and cannot return.
