What is Laser Trim?
Laser Trim is a new precision shaving system created by Micro Touch. Like many As Seen On TV products, Laser Trim comes with all sorts of bonus gifts – including a 10 piece grooming kit. And, like other As Seen On TV products, it also comes with enormous non-refundable shipping fees.
In any case, Laser Trim promises to replace your scissors, razors, trimmers, and other shaving tools by providing a better solution. Thanks to Laser Trim, according to the manufacturer, you can get closer, cleaner, smoother, straighter shaves.
The secret power behind Laser Trim is a small LED light on the tip of the blade. The light marks exactly where you’re shaving on your skin, so you can use the light to see exactly where the razor is going to land.
In a promotional video, Laser Trim advertises the shaver as a way to clean up sideburns, get the perfect beard cut, eliminate unsightly unibrows, and shave that annoying hair on the back of your neck. It also claims to be powerful for “manscaping” and is “powerful enough for the tough stuff”.
There’s even a light switch that turns the laser-guiding into a spotlight so you can shave your nose hairs.

Laser Trim comes with all of the following features:

Yes, “German stainless steel blades” is a word-for-word benefit described on the Laser Trim sales page. Because just putting the word “German” in front of something makes it better. It doesn’t say “German engineered” or list the actual manufacturing facility, but it is made in Germany, for what it’s worth.
Aside from the features listed above, there really isn’t a lot of information listed on the official Laser Trim website. We don’t know a whole lot about how it works or what type of material it uses. However, based on other As Seen On TV products, and based on the fact that a good razor typically costs over $80 at a minimum, it’s unlikely that Laser Trim is going to replace everything in your shaving kit.

Who Makes Laser Trim?
If you look at the official Laser Trim website, then you’d believe that Laser Trim is made by a company named Micro Touch.
In reality, Micro Touch is just a brand name owned by Idea Village, one of the biggest companies in the As Seen On TV space. That company is responsible for compression sleeves like Copper Fit and claims to be “developers of the most successful consumer products in the “As Seen On TV” industry”, according to their official website.
In any case, Idea Village product reviews all pretty much say the same thing: you’re getting cheap stuff made from cheap materials at a reasonable price. You can probably find significantly better stuff for just a few dollars more, and most Idea Village products have ratings of 3 stars or lower on Amazon and other retailers.
Should You Use Laser Trim to Help Trim your Beard?
Laser Trim is a razor with a light on the end. That’s pretty much all it is. I don’t know about you, but I can see the edge of my razor perfectly fine when I’m shaving and I’ve never felt the need to use a “laser” to guide my way and get perfectly cut edges.
However, if you’re looking for extra precision and you always find yourself chopping off too much eyebrow, beard, sideburn, or body hair, then the Laser Trim may be the shaver for you – I just wouldn’t expect it to replace everything in your shaving kit.
