Kor Shots is a lineup of energy shots made by a Malibu, California-based company. Find out how these “raw shots” work today in our Kor Shots review.
What Are Kor Shots?
Kor Shots are a lineup of energy shots that, at first glance, seem similar to popular beverages like 5 Hour Energy. Take a closer look, however, and you’ll see that Kor Shots are made from natural, organic ingredients – most of which are certified USDA Organic.
The company’s shots are made from cold-pressed juice. They contain trendy ingredients like organic turmeric, organic ginger, and organic sea buckthorn. There’s also a “Black Magic” charcoal shot to cleanse your body.
Kor Shots calls itself “the original raw shot”. The shots are cold-pressed in small, artisanal batches, and each shot is made from locally-sourced produce handpicked from small farms in Malibu and Hawaii.
Kor Shots were created by company founder Jordan Retamar. You can order them online through the official website or through Amazon. They’re also available at certain Whole Foods locations, where you typically pay about $2.99 per shot.
Types of Kor Shots
Four types of Kor Shots are available online today. Here are all four:
Wellness – Ginger
The Wellness Ginger shot promises to deliver the health benefits of ginger root “in a single zingy hit”. To give the shot an extra kick, Kor Shots has added a pinch of cayenne pepper along with juice from freshly-squeezed Malibu lemons. Ginger, according to Kor Shots, is “one of the healthiest spices on the planet”. It’s been linked to better digestion, and even a reduced risk of colds and flus.
Ingredients in the shot include organic ginger, organic lemon, organic coconut water, and organic cayenne pepper.
Vitality – Turmeric
The Vitality – Turmeric supplement is handmade in Malibu using ingredients from Hawaii. Like the Wellness Ginger shot, all ingredients in the Vitality Turmeric shot are certified USDA Organic.
Key ingredients in this shot include organic turmeric roots (from Hawaii), organic lemon (from Malibu), and organic fresh Thai young coconut. Altogether, the ingredients claim to provide a strong dose of antioxidants to your body in a “single, smooth hit”.
Black Magic
This shot comes in a distinctive black bottle. Black Magic uses charcoal to cleanse and detoxify your body. In case you missed the news, charcoal is one of the most popular cleansing ingredients of the past few years. Eating charcoal might seem strange, but charcoal actually has a unique molecular shape that picks up toxins in your body. Charcoal molecules pass through your body, latching onto toxins and harmful molecules, then carry them safely out of your body.
Ingredients in Black Magic include organic ginger, organic lemon, and organic coconut water.
Youth – Sea Buckthorn & Baobab
Sea buckthorn and baobab are two other trendy nutrients that have been making headlines over the past few years. Baobab, for example, is an African fruit prized for its high levels of antioxidants. Meanwhile, sea buckthorn is a sour berry that’s surprisingly rich with vitamins. We’ve seen plenty of sea buckthorn formulas in the skin care industry, but it’s not as common in the nutritional supplement industry.
In any case, this shot claims to deliver 12 times as much vitamin C as an orange. It’s also the only berry to contain omega 3, 6, 7, and 9. Each Youth shot is enhanced by raw baobab powder, described as “a super fruit to help maintain a healthy metabolism”. Organic sea buckthorn berry and organic raw baobab are the only two listed ingredients.
