Last week on Saturday Night Live, host Benedict Cumberbatch unveiled the latest product in the tech industry: the Koohl Toilet. It’s been described as a “game changer” in the toilet world. Here are 5 fast facts you need to know about it.
5) It Will Change the Way You Use the Toilet
The first and most noticeable thing about the Koohl Toilet is that it will change the way you use the toilet. Just like the iPod changed the way we listen to music, the Koohl Toilet will change the way you poop.
Decades in the future, your grandchildren will look at you and ask, “Did you really used to face the other way when you used the toilet?” And you’ll say, “Yes, until our lives were revolutionized with the Koohl Toilet.”
That’s right: the Koohl Toilet lets you sit the other way. It’s described as a “backward toilet”. When using the toilet, you sit facing towards the front.
When Benedict Cumberbatch unveiled the toilet, he was perched on it with his arms casually draped over the front – almost rebelliously.
4) You’ll Finally Look Cool When Using the Toilet
Sick of feeling uncool and unsexy when you use the toilet? You’re not alone. That’s why Apple (or Kohler, depending on your view) decided to disrupt the industry.
In the SNL announcement, a 1984-like voice drones that “No citizen can look cool while sitting on the toilet! This changes everything!”, right after Benedict Cumberbatch smashed open a large box with a sledgehammer to reveal the toilet.
Finally, someone has taken the time to think about what you look like when using the toilet. You’ll no longer be forced to hide behind bathroom doors – you’ll be free to share your bathroom exploits with the world.
3) Koohl Toilet Is Made by Kohler
The Koohl Toilet is made by Kohler, which has apparently partnered with Apple to bring the toilet to market. Kohler is a Wisconsin-based company best-known for its bathroom and kitchen products.
2) It Has Neon Trim
You have smartphones – now we have smart toilets. The Koohl Toilet is one of the most futuristic looking toilets you’ll ever see. There’s neon trim around the edges, giving the toilet a unique, high-tech, glossy look. It’s truly a sight to behold.
1) The Koohl Toilet Is Not Real At All!
In case you haven’t already figured out, Apple doesn’t announce new products on a weekly comedy sketch show. They also don’t plan on disrupting the toilet industry anytime soon. In fact, if you believed in any of this Koohl Toilet nonsense, you should probably take a close look at yourself in the mirror.
That being said, the Koohl Toilet does look pretty cool.
The entire SNL skit, by the way, was a parody of Apple’s famous 1984 commercial. That’s why there’s some confusion over whether the toilet is made by Apple or Kohler – or both.
The Koohl Toilet is scheduled for release in Spring 2017, although it’s already been released in Japan according to the initial product announcement. Once again, this is not a real toilet.
