Holi offers several different smart products that aim to make it easier to get to sleep, stay asleep, and wake up refreshed and ready to start your day.
These products include the Bonjour Alarm Clock, the Sleepcompanion Sunrise Simulator, the Goodvibes Sleep Activator, the Smartlamp wi-fi enabled smart Lamp, and the Sleepsensor Sleep Tracker.
Holi Sleep Solutions Features: How Does It Work?
Holi products all work in different ways to provide more restful sleep and a more natural waking experience.
The Bonjour Alarm Clock offers integration with your daily agenda, news, weather, and traffic, and also supports integration with other smart devices in your house such as WeMo, Nest, or Philips Hue products, allowing you to control them directly via voice recognition. Bonjour also has built-in meditation and relaxation programs to help you sleep better.
The Sleepcompanion Sunrise Simulator is a smart LED light bulb that is designed to act on your body’s natural production of melatonin, a hormone that encourages restful sleep. Its connected LED bulb can provide easy wake-ups with gentle light, soothing light that encourages sleep at night, or any array of colors thanks to its included smartphone app.
The Goodvibes Sleep Activator is a round, flat disc that sits on your bedside table and provides gentle, glowing light in specific patterns that can help guide you to sleep using the proven 4-7-8 method inspired by yoga techniques. Breathing along to the slowly pulsing lights promotes sleep.
The Smartlamp is a connected light cube with advanced LED technology that offers an elegant design and a selection of ambient lighting choices that can be controlled through a companion app, available both through Google Play or the iTunes App Store. Smartlamp also comes with a “sunrise simulator” feature that allows you to wake up naturally.
The Sleepsensor Sleep Tracker is a small, unobtrusive sensor that can be placed on an article of clothing like a t-shirt in order to monitor your sleep patterns, which it then transmits to a smartphone app. The algorithms used by the sensor can offer analysis of your sleep cycles, duration, position, quality and fragmentation of sleep, and can offer advice on providing better sleep.
Who Makes Holi?
Holi products are made by a company based in Lyon, France founded in 2012 by entrepreneurs Grégoire Gerard and Jerome Schonfeld. The start-up specializes in connected devices that provide better health and wellness through restful sleep.
Holi is a member of the National Sleep Foundation and the French foundation for Sleep Research and Medicine.

Holi makes use of advanced electronics and connectivity such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth in order to create its products. Casings for their products include plastic, bushed aluminum, and digital screens to provide feedback.

Holi Reviews: What Do Customers Have To Say?
Holi products have a mixed review history on Amazon, with both the Smartlamp and the Sleepcompanion garnering 3.4 out of 5 stars and 2.8 out of 5 stars respectively. However, this could be a function of just not enough feedback, as both products have less than 10 reviews at this time of writing.
Pros:
- Bright and Colorful – The products reviewed were described as being able to produce bright and colorful light in the ways they were supposed to be capable of.
- Works Well, When it Works – While there are some serious control problems (see below), when one of these products work, it works well, offering a wide array of performance and customization options through its app.
Cons:
- Not Necessarily Effective For Sleep – Some individuals complained that the products weren’t exactly conducive to supporting restful sleep, which is one of the main claims that Holi makes with its products – especially its smart lights.
- Poor App Performance – A constant refrain we’ve noticed is that reviewers have complained about the performance of the included smartphone app. Some have said the app itself doesn’t control the product well, or doesn’t even connect to begin with. Additionally, the Android app seems to lag behind in compared to the iOS app, meaning that Android phone users are likely to get an even poorer experience.
Should You Buy Holi?
It’s hard to provide a blanket statement with Holi, as there are several different devices in its product line. However, we’ve got enough information that we feel we can make an overall recommendation of caution with Holi, as evidenced by this information.
Holi products seem to be well-engineered, but suffer when it comes to connectivity with an accompanying app or something similar. Unfortunately, nearly every single Holi product requires a companion app to program and control the device, which could end up turning owning one of these devices a frustrating experience.
We recommend waiting to see if Holi can get its act together. They may be able to fine-tune its controller apps, making their smart products, which are not so smart right now, a bit little wiser.
