Gather Meal Delivery Review

Gather is a new meal delivery service created by Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry. The meal delivery service has not yet been launched, but we’ve got some early details to keep you up-to-date about her new food delivery startup.

What is Gather?

Gather is a new once-a-week boxed meal delivery service that delivers seasonal ingredients and delicious recipes handpicked by Youtube-famed Little Lights of Mine star Ayesha Curry.

Those meals will be delivered directly to your doorstep each and every week. With each delivery, you’ll receive the ingredients needed to make some of Ayesha’s favorite hand-crafted meals so you can “gather together and cook”.

You don’t actually get pre-made meals: you get the ingredients needed to make those meals. You’ll need to combine the ingredients and cook them on your own and then “share with your family and friends”, Ayesha explains on the official Gather, Inc. website.

We like the unique spin on the cooking vs the pre-made, meaning your food would be fresh and prepared exactly to your tastebuds liking vs a standard one-size fits all approach like most meal planning startups.

Aside from that, we know absolutely nothing about Gather. So far, the entire company is just a landing page on their official website of GatherMeals.com. There’s no other information available at this time but expect their to be updates in the near future or by jumping on their email newsletter. .

However, much of what we know or suspect to know about Gather comes from Ayesha’s well-publicized cooking background – including her YouTube channel and the pop-up restaurant she recently opened in San Francisco. Using this information, we can take some educated guesses about how Gather Meals is going to work.

Gather Meals Pricing

Gather Inc hasn’t announced any pricing details so far.

However, competitors in a similar space typically charge between $8 and $15 per meal. Breakfasts and lunches are available at one price, while dinners typically cost more.

Will Ayesha’s Gather charge a high price due to the celebrity name? Or will she offer a more reasonable pricing scheme that caters to families with an average budget? We’ll learn more pricing details over the coming months.

What we do know is that it is different than meal replacement shakes and powdered protein drinks like you might be accustomed to. We have a meal planning guide that might be of some help to you when deciding which at home food delivery service is best for you.

We wonder how it will stack up again industry favorites like Blue Apron or Hello Fresh? What we can gather from Mrs. Curry's Gather is that it will have a unique twist and plenty of personality behind foods and recipes used.

Gather Meals Availability: Where Will Gather Be Available?

It’s unclear if Gather Meals will be available in just the Bay Area around San Francisco or if it will launch nationwide.

Typically, meal delivery services like Gather launch in a small local area before expanding as they grow their customer base.

Who Makes the Food?

Gather claims that all meals come from Ayesha’s own unique background.

Ayesha is a cook with genuine experience: earlier in June 2016, Ayesha teamed up with celebrity chef Michael Mina to open a pop-up restaurant in San Francisco.

In recent months, she has also launched a cookbook and a cooking show on Little Lights of Mine YouTube channel – so this isn’t some spur of the moment thing designed to capitalize on her recent popularity. She does have plenty of genuine cooking experience.

In any case, Ayesha’s Gather will likely feature meals that reflect her diverse heritage. She claims her cooking is influenced by her Jamaican, Chinese, Polish, and African-American heritage. All of these backgrounds have contributed to her unique cooking style.

To get an idea for some of the meals you can expect with Ayesha’s Gather, check out her cooking channel here.

Stay tuned as we learn more about Gather going forward! So far, details are extremely scarce. The at-home meal delivery world is an extremely crowded industry already, so it remains to be seen how Ayesha’s Gather will differentiate itself from the pack.
