Ergo Posture Transformer is a unique wearable device that promises to align, support, and strengthen your posture. Here’s our review.
What Is Ergo Posture Transformer?
The Ergo Posture Transformer promises to give you perfect posture instantly. It’s a wearable device that brings you back to relieve. It strengthens, and supports your body in various places.
The device recently blew past its Kickstarter fundraising target, reaching over $36,000 of its $5,000 goal within a few days. The Ergo Posture Transformer is made by a Miami, Florida-based company. The product is estimated to start shipping in May 2017.
How Does Ergo Posture Transformer Work?
Ergo lifts and holds your body in proper spinal alignment by supporting your mid-back and vertebrae. This ergonomically prevents you from slouching. The company recommends wearing it for 1 to 6 hours a day to improve and strengthen your posture.
You can also stretch with it throughout the day to relieve pain in your neck, back, and shoulder.
Using the system, you can relieve up to 70 pounds of pressure off your neck and back. The device is totally adjustable – so it can fit any body.
ERGO Posture Transformer Benefits
Some of the promised benefits of the Ergo include:
- Effortlessly sit up straight at your computer
- Relieve excess strain off your back, neck, and shoulders
- Improve balance and equilibrium
- Rapidly gain stronger, confident, and a more attractive posture
- Unleash more energy and core power
Most of us know we don’t have perfect posture. You’ve probably looked up ways to correct that posture – sit up straight, clench your abs, and hold your head straight up and forward.
However, it’s difficult to remember all of these things at the same time. The Ergo promises to do all of that work for you.
When you wear the device, your whole body shifts into alignment. The device encourages your shoulders to roll back and down while your head stays balanced over your shoulders. It also expands your chest and engages your abdominal muscles.
How Does ERGO Posture Transformer Improve Posture?
The device itself is composed of one elastic resistance tube held in a figure eight design using a rubber fixture. The system claims to use science to improve your center of gravity.
The key part of the system is the plastic piece in the middle. That patented support cushion “triggers a spinal righting reflex”.
It’s placed right over your posture pivot point, which supports the mid-back vertebrae and adjusts them into the correct alignment, then rebalances the head on top of the shoulders.
Meanwhile, the cushion is held into place in the rubber fixture by the tubes on the shoulders back and down in a relaxed position, while pads attached to the cords on the front of your chest gently guide your chest into an open, comfortable position.
When you’re wearing the device, it kind of looks like a backpack. Two straps slide over your shoulders, while a center piece sits in the middle of your upper back.
Another key part of the system is the two handles that drop down from the middle of the upper back, they help you align your back. The handles are gently splayed outward for optimal weight balance.
Overall, the makers of Ergo claim this system is “like wearing a mini ergonomic chair”. It can relieve slouching, reduce neck pain, and alleviate back pain, for example.
The makers of Ergo even claim that it can improve your concentration, increase self-confidence, optimize breathing, and improve your metabolism – among other unexpected benefits.
ERGO Posture Transformer Pain Treatment App
While wearing the Ergo, you’re encouraged to go through several different stretching routines. To help you out, there’s a Pain Treatment App. The app is available for free from the Play Store and iTunes App Store.
The app walks you through various stretches you can do while standing or sitting – like neck rolls, shoulder rolls, power positions, spine stretches, and chest stretches.
By performing these movements regularly throughout the day, you can avoid neck and back pain and improve circulation – even if you spend all day sitting at a desk.

ERGO Posture Transformer Creators
Ergo was made by a Miami, Florida-based team called Perfectore Corp. The system was created by industrial designer – and company founder – Collon Brown, who teamed up with Marina Prospero (posture specialist and current CEO) and Erika Furman (chief product tester and wellness expert) to bring the system to market.
The company launched the product on Kickstarter in March 2017, where it quickly achieved its funding target.
Ergo Posture Transformer Summary
The main benefit of the Ergo Posture Transformer is that you can turn any sitting or standing arrangement into an ergonomic environment with a convenient, wearable device.
In promotional images for the Ergo, we see people wearing the device while sitting on an exercise ball, a conventional office chair, and other arrangements. You can also use it while using a standing desk.
The device has not yet been released – so we don’t know how well it works, or how customers like it. However, that’s part of the risk with backing a Kickstarter project early.
Most of us could use a little help improving our posture. If you frequently experience back pain or neck pain after long hours of sitting or standing, then the Ergo may be a life changing product for you.
Hi, I would like you to correct some errors that you have in your review of our Kickstarter project/ ERGO Posture Transformer product.
You have made a series of erroneous assumptions and I would like to assist you in reporting the correct information so your readers can trust that you are relaying the truth.
1. wearable device that wraps around your chest.. The device does not wrap around your chest
2. The device itself consist of a series of cords.. it is composed of one elastic resistance tube held in a figure eight design using a rubber fixture.
3. cords attached to the cushion… the tube is not attached to the cushion, the cushion is held into place in the rubber fixture by the tubes.
4.is the two handles that drop down from the middle of the upper back. This balances out the weight of your chest and helps to align your spine…. no the two handles do not balance out the weight of your chest.
5.You reach behind your back and pull the two handles down to tighten the entire system … this is incorrect. The size of the device is adjusted and then locked into place by the cushion, it does not get tighter if you pull the handles.
I would really appreciate you correcting these errors as soon as possible. If you require any other details about the system you can contact me directly.
