AquaBall Water Drink – Natural No-Preservative Sugarless Flavors?

on

AquaBall is a sugar-free, preservative-free, naturally-flavored water marketed to kids. Here’s our AquaBall review.

What Is AquaBall?

AquaBall is a distinctively-shaped bottled water designed to encourage kids to stay hydrated. The water comes in a plastic ball-shaped bottle featuring distinctive colors – like red, purple, or blue. The company claims to make sugar-free, preservative free, naturally flavored water “your kids will love”.

Like other “naturally sweetened” beverages on the market today, AquaBall is sweetened with Stevia leaf extract. It’s also enhanced with vitamins (vitamin B3, B5, B6, and C).

As far as I know, most bottled waters don’t require preservatives. You’re selling water – not perishable food items. So it seems weird that AquaBall is marketing itself as a “preservative free” bottled water.

In any case, AquaBall markets itself towards kids – and the parents of those kids. The official AquaBall website explains how the product “empowers us to make healthy choices for our kids” and that it was created “by parents for parents”.

In addition to featuring distinctive bottles, AquaBall features cartoon characters and children’s show characters. It’s designed to make children believe that drinking water is fun, which is something that can boost their health for years into the future.

AquaBall Flavors

AquaBall comes in all of the following flavors:

  • Berry Frost (features Elsa, Anna, and Olaf from Disney’s Frozen)
  • Fruit Punch (features Disney’s Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck)
  • Grape (features Marvel Avengers Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Panther)
  • Strawberry Lemonade (features Disney princesses Ariel, Belle, and Rapunzel)

AquaBall Nutritional Information

As mentioned above, the water is sugar-free but it’s sweetened with stevia, a lab-made extract that comes from a South American plant called stevia rebaudiana.

Meanwhile, the natural flavors inside AquaBall are, according to the makers of the water, “naturally derived from fruits and berries to create tastes kids love without artificial colors or flavors”. However, the bottle is careful to mention that each serving contains 0% juice. Key flavor enhancers include citric acid and malic acid.

  • Bottles work great for arts and crafts
  • Paying over $1 for a tiny bottle of water is a little ridiculous
