Ab Cuts Review – Trusted Brand?
Ab Cuts is a nutritional supplement manufacturer that makes a wide variety of fat burning products designed to target excess fat across your body. Here’s our Ab Cuts review.
What is Ab Cuts?
Ab Cuts is a nutritional supplement company that currently sells six different products, each of which is designed to burn fat in some way or another. Some of the products provide targeted fat loss – like their “Midsection Solution” or “CLA Belly Fat Formula”.
The company was founded by a guy named Matte Hesse. Matte founded the company “because he believes in holistic health.” He saw others around him being consumed by quick-fix diets, counting calories, and other short-term approaches, and decided he wanted to take a different approach. So he created the Ab Cuts lineup of athletic supplements.
Today, Ab Cuts are available online at AbCuts.com as well as at Costco retailers across America. They include oil-based weight loss formulas as well as oil formulas mixed with caffeine and other conventional weight loss agents.
How Do Ab Cuts Supplements Work?
Many Ab Cuts supplements rely on an active ingredient called CLA. Here’s how the makers of Ab Cuts explain CLA:
“The CLA in Ab Cuts promotes an improved body fat percentage and healthier body composition. Clinical studies have shown that CLA not only helps the body burn fat more effectively, but it also helps create lean muscle mass.”
They claim their formulas can be successfully used to target fat loss in the hips, abs, thighs, and other stubborn places.
Although Ab Cuts has a “Clinical Studies” section of their website, they never actually mention or list those clinical studies. They just vaguely describe how “clinical studies have shown…”. That’s not enough evidence. There’s a huge debate in the weight loss industry about whether or not you can actually target weight loss in parts of your body. Most of the evidence points to no. If Ab Cuts is claiming they can specially target weight loss in one part of your body, then we need to see more evidence showing that.
In any case, Ab Cuts is open and honest about its ingredients. All products come with complete dosage information – so Ab Cuts isn’t exactly hiding anything.
There are also no stimulants in the original CLA formula (and several other products). It’s just healthy oils – like CLA. In cases where the supplements do use stimulants, they’re clearly labeled with complete dosing information.
What is CLA?
Conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, is an omega 6 fatty acid. It’s been thought to have fat burning properties and has been rapidly growing in popularity in the fitness world over the last two years.
It started with a study called “Conjugated Linoleic Acid Reduces Body Fat Mass in Overweight and Obese Humans.” That study was published in 2000 but has been increasingly cited in recent years.
That study involved 47 subjects (out of 60 who initially signed up for the test). These subjects were divided into groups. One group took one capsule of olive oil (the placebo) three times a day before breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while the other ground took CLA. The three doses were split across 4 capsules. The CLA capsules were 1000mg with 75% pure CLA, although the CLA group was split into doses of 1.7, 3.4, and 6.8 grams.
Over a 12 week period, subjects were evaluated on body fat mass, lean body mass, body weight, blood pressure, and heart rate. Researchers also took blood tests and measured physical performance while also asking participants to rate their quality of life.
The end results of the study were that subjects did not actually lose weight or change their BMI.
However, there was a significant difference in body fat mass in groups taking 1.7, 3.4, and 6.8 grams of CLA and there were also significant differences within the 3.4 gram and 6.8 gram groups. The 6.8 gram group also increased in lean body mass significantly. They also improved their physical activity.
Overall, researchers concluded that CLA consumption among obese or overweight individuals can slightly increase lean body mass, decrease body fat mass significantly, and improve muscle strength over a 12 week period.
Please note that this study did not actually lead to any weight loss: it did, however, lead to a change in body composition.
Ultimately, CLA has shown increasing evidence that it can have an effect on your body composition. That’s why Ab Cuts uses CLA in its supplements.
How Does The Original Ab Cuts Formula Work?
The original Ab Cuts Formula uses CLA to trim belly fat. It mixes 1000mg of Safflower Oil (80% CLA) with 300mg of Omega 3 Fish Oil, 150mg of Borage Oil, 100mg of Flax Seed Oil, and 50mg of Sesame Seed Oil. As you can see, it’s basically a softgel capsules packed with oil from plant and fish sources.
There are no stimulants used in the product. There’s no caffeine or other conventional weight loss ingredients. The fish oils come from anchovy, sardine, and mackerel.
The original formula is priced at $26.99 for a package of 80 softgel capsules.

Conclusion: Should You Use Ab Cuts to Lose Targeted Weight Across Your Body?
There’s still limited evidence that CLA – or any ingredient – can create targeted weight loss in specific spots of your body. There’s just not enough evidence to suggest that it works like that. However, CLA – which is the active ingredient in most Ab Cuts supplements – does appear to have a positive effect on your body composition. It’s an omega 6 fatty acid that has been linked to increased lean muscle mass in some studies – although it hasn’t been definitively linked to weight loss.
Ultimately, Ab Cuts appears to work as advertised to help affect your body composition. But it does not appear to provide targeted weight loss across your body. The manufacturer has also not performed any tests on its products to show that they’re more effective than just taking a CLA supplement straight up (which is important because CLA supplements are available for a cheaper price).
Nevertheless, the original Ab Cuts formula is available at a price of $26.99, and it’s like taking a bunch of different oil supplements at once – including oil from fish and plant sources.
The 5-in-1 fat-burning formula also appears to be an effective weight loss option, as it combines proven ingredients like green coffee bean extract and green tea extract with caffeine at a reasonable price ($22.99 for a one month supply)
If you want to add more omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids to your diet and are looking for a convenient way to do so, then Ab Cuts may be the right option for you.
