Simply Fit Board Review – Worth It?
The Simply Fit Board is a new workout device that promises to slim your waistline and improve your balance using a simple plastic balance board. Here’s our review.
What is Simply Fit Board?
Simply Fit Board is a piece of fitness equipment that recently appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank. It consists of a small curved plastic board. You stand on the board and twist around in various positions to improve your balance.
As the makers of the board explain, it’s “a balance board with a twist”.
Some of the promised benefits of the Simply Fit Board include a slimmer waistline, improved balance, stronger core, toned legs, and low-impact workouts.
The board can easily be used at home or the office. It’s a low-impact piece of workout equipment.
How Does the Simply Fit Board Work?
The Simply Fit Board calls itself “a balance board with a twist” because you literally twist while using the device. Most balance boards simply allow you to stand in one spot and balance during use. The Simply Fit Board, on the other hand, contains a curve in the middle that lets you twist while working out.
The makers of the Simply Fit Board claim that twisting helps you increase your heart rate to burn unwanted fat. Twisting is also one of the few exercises you can do that works every single muscle in your core.
Simply Fit Board comes with a number of suggested 10 minute workouts and exercises you can perform. Some of the proposed workouts include:
- A simple twist (you stand on the board and twist back and forth)
- Twisted bridges (tones your legs)
- Bicep curls (stand on the Simply Fit Board while doing bicep curls)
- Plank twists (place your two hands on the board while holding the plank)
Free 10 minute workouts are available online on the official Simply Fit Board website. They’ll also frequently post things like the “squat and push up challenge” or the “six pack challenge” to keep your workouts interesting and varied.
The device is designed for men and women of all ages – including kids. In fact, the company releases dedicated workout programs and recommended exercises for kids.
Simply Fit Board Pricing
The Simply Fit Board is priced available in five different colors, all of which are priced at the same rate:
- 1 Simply Fit Board: $44.95
Available colors include Electric Blue, Bright Magenta, Vibrant Lime, Radiant Red, and Atomic Orange.
How to Use the Simply Fit Board
After buying the Simply Fit Board, you can work out “almost anywhere”, according to the manufacturer. All you need to do is place the board on a firm, smooth surface and start twisting to engage your core, legs, and back. The only place you shouldn’t work out is on cement or a rough surface, as the twisting motion can damage the board. Working out on carpet, tile, or any other surface should be fine.
There are a few basic moves you can start to perform on the board, including:
The Walk:
Standing with your feet shoulder width apart, rock the board to walk it forwards and backwards
The Surfer:
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and squad down low with your arms out parallel to the ground like a surfer riding the waves. Stand back up and repeat the movement.
The Twist:
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and twist back and forth. Play music to help lift your energy during this workout.
The Rock:
Stand with your feet shoulder width apart, turned so they’re facing one end of the board. Then, rock the board back and forth like a teeter totter, making sure to rock in both directions.
Who Makes the Simply Fit Board?
The Simply Fit Board is made by a mother/daughter team from Colorado named Linda Clark and Gloria Hoffman.
Linda, a mother of 4 and grandmother of 6, hit her 60s and realized she had a “battle of the bulge” problem. So she called her daughter, Gloria, for advice on how to lose weight. Gloria’s fitness background mixed with Linda’s need for a simple, fun, and effective workout. Within 2 years, the Simply Fit Board had become a full-fledged phenomenon.
Today, the Simply Fit Board factory is based at:

Should You Use the Simply Fit Board to Lose Weight?
The Simply Fit Board is a low-impact workout device that promises to help men and women of all ages lose weight in a fun, easy, and effective way.
If you’re looking for a high-intensity, sweat-inducing workout for well-trained athletes, then the Simply Fit Board probably isn’t what you’re looking for. However, if you’re looking for a low impact workout you can easily perform at home, with your kids, or with your grandkids, then the Simply Fit Board may be exactly what you need.
I have herniated disks in my lower back. Is the simply fit board something that I could use?
I’ve had mine for 4 months now, love it! It’s easy on and off and great workout for your cardio and core. Good way to lose extra weight and tone your whole body. Easy on your body cause you are not jumping or pounding on anything resistant. I use mine 15 to 20 minutes a day 3 times a week. Glad I bought it!
Have you lost any weight? His so how long did it take you?
I love it ! It took a couple days to get used to it , but I got the hang of it. My lower back was hurting at first. I read that might be if you are twisting a little too much. So I I tried that and it works. My balance is so. Ugh better too.
I would recommend it !!
I am 53 years old. I have been working out at the gym for about a year. I got the simply Fit board to use on the days that I didn’t feel like going to the gym. I love it! At first, I was a bit wobbly on it. After just a few days, I have the hang of it, and I have no problem twisting on the board. I can control the board and keep it from walking away off my carpet pad. All it takes is a little persistence. It has to be good for you. It may not be a gym workout, but if you use it, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
I bought the Fit Board 4 days ago. It took me a couple hours to get the balance down. I feel it working already.
It does get your heart rate going. Between the twisting and keeping your balance – it is a great core workout. I can’t wait until tonight to work out on it again. It’s a great product!
Why not just put some hand weights in your hands twist your upper body and march in place. You will not have to take a risk in falling & burn calories.
After about 10 minutes ( that’s equivalent to 1000 steps)… it seems
To be the wrong angle on your ankles, this is saying with your feet square
with your shoulders. I’m in pretty good shape so the weight of your body
Is putting more stress on your ankles… how could that even be good for
A person recovering from an ankle injury. I don’t have an ankle injury but this feels like it could cause an ankle injury because it’s not a square and even stance on your ankles.(“I know I can spread my feet further but that just takes away from the core workout”) your mayoclinic advice..WRONG!
i don’t know how you are standing but i have never felt that way. maybe it is your build or something.
Thank you for your review. I have previously had a couple of bad ankle sprains in the past & you saved me from a purchase that wouldn’t have been right for me. I’m sure that it is a good product & does work for other people.
I enjoy my Fit Board. I’m 59, but have always worked out, so balance wasn’t an issue. I put on a jive dvd and, boy, was it fun.
You should use additional padding if not you will destroy your carpets, rugs or finished wood floors
before you loose the first pound.
It’s the first time ive beem able to stick to something and I have felt my balance improving iam not as winded and it’s easy enough that I dont quit cause its to hard. Also use a wall untill you find your balance then no walll needed……
I LOVE mine! I am 53 and use the hand weights while dancing on the board! It works great and yes you can lose weight because you are burning up calories 😊
Absolutely the stupidest, most ridiculous exercise tool out there. My God, save $45 and do the Twist in socks on a slippery floor. This is a piece of plastic people!!!! Wake up!
Jim – the balancing part makes it such a good workout. Go to the store and try it out.
hahahahha….YES!! I LOVE DANCING AND TWISTING IN MY SOCKS!!! LIKE JAMES BROWN, I FEEL GOOOD!
This is not for older people it is hard to balance! You put it on carpet it walks away with you hard to stay in one place! They advertise anyone can use it don’t believe it try it first! I seen someone mention the old square one I prefer that one to this!
i’m 61..it is fine for me. a friend 5 or 6 years older uses hers too. not all ‘old’ people have the issues you think. and, you can hold onto something until your balance improves or forever if you want to.
Out of shape and 60 years old, I decided to buy myself a SimplyFitBoard last week. I was shaky at first because I have terrible balance, so, I hung onto the corner of my couch with one hand until I got the hang of it, kinda. Already I can tell my balance is better. I also expect with due diligence my twisting will improve. It’s nice to not have to leave the house to work out. i can do it at my leisure! Great way to do something besides heading to the fridge during commercial breaks on tv. Very satisfied. I feel the results, but I can’t wait to see the results.
Through out our customers feedback, they all are so satisfied with the simply fit board to loose weight and stay healthy with a great work out. Cyres Internet Mall for only $39.99.
If you can manage to stay on it and continue to do the waist twist and keep your balance and you do this on a regular routine, yes… you would loose weight added to watching your calorie intake. When I was in my teens, I had a square wooden board called the twister board and I used it daily along with watching my calories and got a waistline of 19-1/2 inches with weight at 105 (I’m 5’6″). As of today, I’m 61 age and I tried the simply fit at Walmart and I wouldn’t trust it for nothing. I still have my twister board and will use this to try and loose weight :)
Unless you have extremely good balance, it’s not for you at all! It is dangerous for us older people who have difficulty with balance. Very easy for the board to slide right out and your whole body to slip and slide out and crash and slam to the floor possibly twisting an ankle or some other injury.
They tell you to use a chair or something next to you until your balance improves.
wrong! i have balance issues and i am fine on it. i held onto something until i got my balance better. now, no problem. and if balance really is a problem, you can hold onto something for the whole time you are on it. you can still work out.
Sooo you wont lose weight?
I have the same question.
If you just stand on it and twist, you will improve your balance, but probably won’t loose any noticeable weight. BUT if you do the exercises you can find on youtube with dumbbells and such, you can loose weight with this board.
As with all exercises it’s important that you do them repeatedly and don’t give up after a while. So the Simply Fit Board by itself won’t magically help you loose weight. But if you put in the work it can be a nice tool to help you stay fit and loose weight.
Hope this helps
I’m heavy and 70. Can I use this board safely?
Talk to your doctor first. But it does handle larger folks and is low impact. I do it near a wall or furniture though so if I lose my balance I’ll have something to lean on instead of risking a fall.
