Truve, which is technically spelled Truvé, calls itself an Anti-Aging Facial Serum and a potent Wrinkle Reducer.

The cream promises to provide all of the following benefits for your skin:

— Tightens, Firms, Moisturizers, And Firms The Skin
— Smoothes Out Fine Lines And Wrinkles
— Boosts Collagen Synthesis
— Works As A Natural, Gentle Formula Across All Skin Types

The formula includes ingredients like Trylagen and Gatuline In-Tense.

Priced at $125 for a tiny bottle, Truve certainly isn’t cheap. So what makes this skin cream one of the more popular options on the market today? Let’s find out.

How Does Truve Work?

Truve claims to be clinically proven by to reduce wrinkles by 45% in just one month – although the company doesn’t cite any sources or evidence for that claim.

In terms of ingredients, Truve uses two active formulas, both of which are made by third party manufacturers. The formulas include:

— Gatuline In-Tense: This formula promises to stimulate “the fibroblash biomechanical functions” to “reorganize the dermis architure”, in the words of the official manufacturer. Even if those words were spelled correctly, they wouldn’t mean anything. The manufacturer appears to be trying to throw scientific terms at you to trip you up.

— Trylagen: Trylagen is a better-known beauty formula that contains peptides (chains of amino acids responsible for essential processes throughout your body). The main purpose of Trylagen is to boost the quantity and quality of collagen in your skin. Once again, the manufacturer resorts to oddly-worded scientific descriptions to justify the benefits, including this crazy line, “Controls uniformity of fibril diameter and the regular spacing of collagen fibrils when the fibrils are formed, ensuring the correct organisation of the collagen network.”

I have no idea what the manufacturer of Truve is trying to say with the lines listed above. But it’s clear that the formula includes at least some concentration of Trylagen.

What is Trylagen and Does It Actually Repair Wrinkles?

Trylagen is one of the two active ingredients listed in Truve. Let’s take a closer look at it.

Trylagen is a proprietary formula created by Lipotec with the goal of boosting the synthesis of collagen types I, III, and IV. In one study performed by Lipotec, a formula containing 5% Trylagen was applied twice daily on one side of the face of 10 female volunteers, while another 10 female volunteers received a placebo cream. This treatment lasted 30 days. Wrinkle depth was measured after the 30 day period using an optical 3D measurement tool called PRIMOS. Researchers concluded that there was a 29% decrease in wrinkle depth after 30 days.

Of course, that study was performed by the formula’s manufacturer and it also only involves 20 female volunteers in total – so the sample size was small.

The other problem is that Truve doesn’t actually list the concentration of Trylagen in its formula. In fact, it doesn’t list any information about its ingredients aside from the fact that it contains some amount of Trylagen and some amount of Gatuline In-Tense.

So we know that Trylagen appears to work at a concentration of 5%, but we don’t know if the formula actually contains anything close to 5% Trylagen.

If you’re the type of person who likes to be careful about which ingredients you put into your skin, then Truve probably isn’t the beauty cream for you.

Truve Wrinkle Reducer is exclusively available through an online trial. That trial is advertised as being “free” or “risk-free”. However, like most free things online, that trial is too good to be true.

Here’s how much that trial will really cost you:

— You have 18 days from the order date to try the product (the cream takes up to 10 calendar days to arrive)

— 18 days after you ordered, you’ll be charged the full price of $93.12 at the end of the trial period

— If you don’t want to be charged this full price, then you’ll need to contact the makers of Truve at 1-888-685-0227 for a full refund

Your skin cream comes in a 1.0 fluid ounce (30mL) jar, good for a one month supply. The cream does not appear to come with an autoship program: so you’re not charged $93.12 every month. You’re just charged a one-time fee.

This information is clearly listed on the ordering page, but the way in which the company advertises the trial is “free” is a little shady. In any case, customer reviews online have indicated that many people were surprised by the large charge that appeared on their credit card at the end of the trial.

If you don’t want to worry about the weird terms and conditions of the trial, then you can also purchase the cream for $125 for one jar.

Should You Use Truve to Reduce your Wrinkles?

Truve makes bold promises about its anti-aging effectiveness, but there’s really no evidence supporting these claims. The manufacturer has only listed two ingredients, both of which are proprietary formulas backed by limited evidence.

It also doesn’t help matters that the skin cream is one of the most expensive creams we’ve ever reviewed, priced at an incredible $125 for a miniscule jar that will hardly last you a month.

For these reasons, Truve hasn’t given us many reasons to recommend its use as an anti-aging skin care product.
