Symbicort – Safe & Effective Medicine For Asthma & COPD?

on

One of the scariest things that a person can experience is the feeling of not being able to breathe. Whether it’s caused from being underwater, having an airway restricted, or being suffocated, the feeling of not being able to get air into the lungs can cause terror and leave people shaking and confused. While most people won’t experience a scary moment like this, there are those who experience similar things on a daily basis.

According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), almost 25 million people in the United States suffer from asthma, a number that is growing on a yearly basis. In addition to those who suffer from asthma, the CDC found that an estimated 24 million people have chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which causes similar feelings of breathlessness as found in asthma. In fact, refractory asthma is considered a COPD.

For the millions of people who suffer from asthma or COPD, the feeling of not being able to get air in their lungs is something they have to fear on a daily basis. And while inhalers and other fast-acting treatments are able to provide relief in the worst case scenarios, many people want to improve their breathing each and every day, so that rescue medications are needed less.

Symbicort products were created around providing users better breathing solutions, whether they suffer from asthma or COPD. While Symbicort products are not intended to be rescue medications and don’t replace fast-acting inhalers, they are able to work as maintenance treatments for those who are tired for struggling with their breathing on a daily basis.

What Is Symbicort?

Symbicort is a company that provides two products, both focused at helping the breathing of users. The first product is Symbicort for COPD, which was designed for maintenance treatment of the condition. The second product offered by Symbicort is for asthma patients over the age of 12. By offering these two treatment options, Symbicort hopes to help user’s live better, more breathable days.

The power behind Symbicort is found in its formulation. The medication contains a blend of budesonide and formoterol, each essential ingredients in helping those who struggle with breathing, whether due to asthma or COPD. Budesonide is a steroid that works to decrease the amount of inflammation throughout the body, helping those who struggle with swollen airways. Going hand in hand with the budesonide is formoterol, which is a bronchodilator. A bronchodilator is a compound that aids in relaxing muscles, specifically in the airways. This aids in the general improvement of breathing.

While Symbicort for COPD can be used by anyone diagnosed with those conditions, Symbicort for Asthma was designed to only be needed for those experiencing severe, uncontrollable asthma. If patients haven’t had quality results using other asthma medications, doctors might prescribe Symbicort for Asthma. However, once the asthma of users is under control, they may discontinue the usage of the medication.

Symbicort is a medication and therefore needs to be prescribed by a doctor. However, Symbicort offers several amazing deals and discounts for those who are interested in starting the medication. A more detailed description of these discounts can be found in the purchasing section below.

Benefits of Symbicort

Because Symbicort comes in two different options, the benefits will vary depending on which one patients are using. A description of the benefits for each Symbicort product can be found below.

Symbicort for COPD

When Symbicort for COPD is used continuously over time, it is able to give users amazing benefits. For example, every time Symbicort is taken, it supports better breathing within five minutes. For those who struggle with their breathing on a daily basis, knowing that once they take their Symbicort for COPD, they’ll get relief offers a huge peace of mind. And for those who have constantly struggled with their breathing, having this peace of mind is a much bigger deal than can be imagined.

In addition to offering faster breathing control, Symbicort for COPD also offers users a sustained effect. Multiple studies were done on Symbicort COPD and it was found that when it was taken over a 12 month period, there was significant improvement in lung function and overall control. These studies were done on those who suffered from sinusitis, upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, and other COPD.

Symbicort for Asthma

As mentioned above, Symbicort for Asthma isn’t intended to be a long-term treatment option. The inhaler was designed to be used for those who are struggling with control over their asthma symptoms. The role Symbicort plays in this, which is one of the medications biggest benefits, is that it is able to help users gain control over their asthma, so they no longer have to take the medication.

Symbicort for Asthma offers users better control over their breathing, and this control comes quickly considering the inhaler is not a rescue or fast-acting treatment. Within 15 minutes of taking Symbicort for Asthma, users find they are better able to control their breathing. As Symbicort for Asthma begins to work, it gives users a better sense of control, so they don’t feel as fearful throughout their days.

In addition to providing fast control and a sense of control, Symbicort for Asthma offers a sustained effect. This means that as Symbicort is used over time, the benefits it offers continue to improve. In fact, in a 12 week study done by Symbicort, users of the asthma inhaler had improved their control by 90% at the end of the study.

How Symbicort Products Work

The biggest point for users to remember when considering getting either Symbicort products is that it needs to be used regularly to be of any use. Unlike emergency inhalers or rescue treatments, the effectiveness of Symbicort and its ingredients become more and more effective over time, which requires consistent dosages.

The key to how Symbicort works in the body is found in the two main active ingredients used in the medication. Already mentioned above, these two medications are budesonide and formoterol. Budesonide is a medication that falls in the drug class corticosteroids, which are used to relieve pain and decrease inflammation. Budesonide works in Symbicort by decreasing any irritation and swelling that is in the airways of users, giving them a sustainable relief throughout the day.

The second contributing factor to how Symbicort works is found in its other medication, formoterol. Unlike budesonide, formoterol is a long-acting beta agonist, which opens the airways and serves as a preventative treatment for those who suffer from asthma or COPD. In Symbicort, formoterol works to open up the airways, specifically in the longs, making overall breathing easier for users. When combined with budesonide, formoterol is able to aid in the control of breathing throughout the day, allowing users to get back to their lives.

Purchasing Symbicort

As mentioned above, Symbicort requires a prescription to be used. However those who are interested in trying Symbicort for their uncontrollable asthma or COPD should ask their doctors if they think the medication would work for them.

Symbicort offers a savings offer for eligible commercially insured patients. At participating pharmacies, those who have been prescribed Symbicort will be able to get a 30 day supply of the medication for only $25, if the co-pay is more than $25. And, for new patients, the first month of Symbicort is free. Restrictions do apply to this offer, however, so interested customers should speak with their doctors and insurance companies to find out if they qualify.

  1. Able to breathe in a relaxed way without forcing the breath and without wheezing. Asthma “controlled” meaning symbicort used hardly at all (after decades of relying on it).
