Supplement companies are seemingly taking over the globe with their vast numbers.
It’s getting to the point where one must wonder if these companies truly make different products? Or is the only thing different about the supplements the name?
I get it.
That’s precisely why I’ve decided to take apart one of these companies to truly see what makes it tick and if they make high quality products like they claim to.
The name of today's company is Poliquin Group.
Poliquin Group Store
Poliquin is another supplement company that offers products such as vitamins, minerals, workout and performance products, and any other kind of product you can think of that supports health and wellness.
Poliquin says there products are based on scientific research (hint: all supplement companies say this) and they are of the highest quality (see last parentheses).
Now, I’m neither for nor against Poliquin, but already I have my suspicions given that they sound like every other supplement company in existence right now.
Poliquin use GMP to produce their supplements and they also claim to adhere to strict FDA standards. This is a plus because supplement companies aren’t required to work with GMP.
GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices and generally means that the company isn’t misleading you with their label. If you’re going to buy supplements, at least make sure you’re not being lied to.
Poliquin Products
Poliquin has a slew of products.
All of their product fall under the banner of the “Foundation Five”. These include Fish Oil, Magnesium, Multivitamins, Probiotics, and Vitamin D.
Below is an explanation of each of these types of products along with the specific products that Poliquin offers.
Fish Oil
Fish oil has become one of the most in demand supplements on the market. In fact, it’s the only supplement that most specialist agree that people should take.
It contains essential fatty acids, EPA and DHA, and allow for better cellular communication. IN short, it helps your body burn fat for energy instead of glucose.
Some of the products listed under Fish Oils include High Concentrate EPA-DHA Liquid, Uber DHA Px, Opti-EFA Liquid, and EPA/DKA 4 Veg.
Magnesium
Magnesium is an underrated mineral, which is unfortunate because it’s kind of needed for your body to survive. Just to give you context, it affects more than 300 processes in the human body.
Pretty important, huh?
Magnesium is crucial for blood sugar levels and also produces a calming effect on the nervous system. This allows it to aid in decreasing stress and improving the quality of sleep.
Some of the products listed under Magnesium include Ubermag Px, Topical Mag, Zen Mag 2.0, and Poly Mag ATP.
Multivitamins
Of course they have to offer multivitamins. If you’re like me, you probably subscribe to the notion that multivitamins are over-rated. But that’s not to say they are without benefits.
According to a 2010 NHANES survey, most people suffer from micro-nutrient deficiencies and they aren’t even aware of it. A few of the vitamins that most people are deficient in are Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Potassium, Choline, and Magnesium.
Kind of makes you rethink things.
Some of the products listed under Multivitamins are Multi Intense, Multi Power Chewables, Complete Multi 2.0, and Complete Multi 2.0 IF.
Probiotics
Probiotics are all the craze in the health nut culture. These are basically tiny bacteria that live in your gut. Freaky, I know. But these little critters are great for your health.
Probiotics help the process of digestion and absorption of nutrients. As if that wasn’t enough, these guys can also aid in improving your cognitive functioning as eel as improving your mood.
Some of the products listed under Probiotics include Proflora Excellence DF caps, S.B 1.0, and Proflora Chewables.
Vitamin D
Vitamin D is another one of those nutrients that most people are deficient in. It’s kind of hard to believe considering that you get this vitamin from sun exposure.
Vitamin D can help prevent disease, improve body composition, and reduce illness. All the more reason to get more sunshine. If that’s not realistic for you, you def should supplement.
Some of the products listed under Vitamin D include D3 Excellence 1000IU, D3 Excellence 5000IU, and Mega D3 2.0
Poliquin Review Summary
So, is Poliquin a worthwhile investment?
That depends. If you’re new to taking supplements, I would advise against it.
Why? Because I get the feeling that Poliquin makes supplements for people who’ve experienced many supplements already.
I say this because all of their products are nuanced. Meaning that you can get 4 different types of a vitamin d supplement.
If you’re someone who’s new to the supplement world, you’ll be lost in a flurry of options.
Now, for those of you experienced with supplements, I’d say this is the perfect company for you. You can get the perfect supplement that fits your needs with Polaquin, no matter how nuanced.
