Pocket Pack – Lightweight Backpack That Fits In Your Pocket?

on

Pocket Pack is an ultra lightweight packable backpack that you may recognize from a recent infomercial. Read our Pocket Pack review to find out if it’s the right backpack for you.

What is Pocket Pack?

Pocket Pack is a miniature backpack that folds down into a shape smaller than a paperback book. The backpack promises to be an ultra-portable, ultra-lightweight way to carry stuff around with you wherever you go.

The backpack is available through a recently-released 2-for-1 As Seen On TV offer. In an infomercial, customers are seen being amazed as they pull the backpack out of their pocket, then unfurl it to reveal its true size.

The backpack is priced at $34, and you receive two backpacks with that offer. Oddly, there’s no way to order just one backpack at a time.

Let’s take a closer look at the features to see if Pocket Pack is the right backpack for you.

Pocket Pack Features

  • Full-sized backpack that folds down into a shape smaller than a paperback book
  • Weighs only 8 ounces
  • Multiple pockets to organize and store your gear
  • Made of durable, rip-stop nylon with reinforced stress points
  • “Weather-resistant” (they don’t claim that it’s waterproof, nor do they even say “water-resistant”)

The backpack folds down into a shape approximately the size of a paperback book. In the Pocket Pack infomercial, customers are seen pulling the backpack from their pockets. However, you’re still going to need an above-average size pocket if you want to fit the Pocket Pack inside – which is weird considering that the word “Pocket” is in the name of the backpack.

Pocket Pack Pricing

Pocket Pack is available through a mandatory 2 for 1 offer. You cannot purchase just one backpack: you need to buy two backpacks at a time. That’s odd, but we’ve seen similar purchasing conditions before through ASOTV companies. In any case, here’s how pricing breaks down:

  • 2 Pocket Packs: $33.97
  • 4 Pocket Packs: $67.94
  • 6 Pocket Packs: $101.91

Pocket Pack has a deliberately confusing pricing policy. The company never reveals the final price of the backpack on the sales page. They confuse you by stating that the backpack costs “just $19.99”, and then add hidden fees (like the mandatory double offer and pricey shipping) on top of that. You never see the final price when you hit the “Process Order” button, which charges your credit card. That’s a red flag, and it’s something we don’t see with many legitimate companies.

Who Makes Pocket Pack?

Pocket Pack is made by a company named Spark Innovators Corp. That company specializes in the ASOTV market and has brought a number of popular products to market in recent years, including Page Brite, Chef’s Edge, Sift Away, and Luma Smile.

Spark Innovators is based in Fairfield, New Jersey.

You can get in touch with the company by phone at 866-772-9561 or by email at [email protected].

Should You Buy Pocket Pack?

Pocket Pack is a misleading name for this backpack. Yes, the backpack folds down into a shape the size of a paperback book. But do you really have pockets that can comfortably hold a paperback book? Probably not – so you’re not going to be able to carry this backpack in your pocket. You’re going to need a purse or a separate backpack.

Pocket Pack is also hampered by its confusing pricing policy. The backpack is advertised at a price of “just $19.99”, but the actual price you pay is $33.97, and you receive two backpacks whether you want them or not.

If you’re going to pay $34 for a backpack, you can probably do better than the Pocket Pack.
