Nudie Sparkling is a line of carbonated fruit drinks featuring all-natural ingredients and no preservatives.
Here’s our Nudie Sparkling review.
What Is Nudie Sparkling?
Nudie Sparkling consists of four unique flavors, each of which is available in a 275ml bottle (9.3 fluid ounces). These flavors are Apple & More Apple, Lemon, Lime & Apple, Berry, Apple & Coconut Water, and Orange, Mango & Passionfruit.
Nudie Sparkling Features: How Does It Work?
Nudie Sparkling products are all created without any preservatives or artificial sweeteners, instead relying on naturally sweet fruit juices and Australian cane sugar. As a result, all Nudie Sparkling drinks feature less than 25g of sugar and anywhere between 87 to 100 calories per 275ml serving.
This makes Nudie Sparkling drinks an excellent alternative to more soft drinks made with more processed sugars and preservatives.
Who Makes Nudie Sparkling?
Nudie Sparkling is a line of products made by Nudie, an Australian juice company founded in 2003 with the philosophy of providing natural, pure blended juice drinks using fresh ingredients.
Nudie is committed to sourcing as many of its ingredients locally as possible, resulting in 94% of the fruits used in its products coming from GMO-free Australian sources. While Nudie doesn’t use preservatives in its products, it does flash pasteurize its drinks to provide additional shelf life.
In addition to Nudie Sparkling products, Nudie produces 100% fruit juice drinks, blended fruit and vegetable drinks, coconut water, coconut yogurt, breakfast shakes, and real fruit-flavored water.
Nudie Sparkling Ingredients
Nudie Sparkling drinks all combine carbonated filtered water with at natural fruit juices comprising at least 50% of each bottle. These drinks are additionally sweetened with Australian cane sugar. There are no other additives to Nudie Sparkling products.
Nudie Sparkling Pricing
Nudie Sparkling products – and other Nudie products – are available nationally across Australia at convenience stores and supermarkets. Typical pricing for a Nudie Sparkling is around $3 AUS per bottle, though it can be found at many distributors at bulk pricing of around $40 AUS per a case of 15.
Unfortunately Nudie products are not available outside Australia at this time, which means the only way to get your hands on any of this product is to be within the country or have someone you know in Australia ship you some from overseas.
This is of course prohibitively expensive and will likely have you run afoul of Customs regulations for transporting food internationally.
Nudie Sparkling Reviews: What Do Customers Have to Say?
Nudie as a company is one of Australia’s great local success stories, especially considering the company suffered from a devastating warehouse fire just a year after it was founded, only to bounce back and expand.
The company is still going strong today, and has a wide footprint when it comes to the distribution of its products – a surefire measure of success.
- Delicious Taste – Nudie has a vociferous fanbase that isn’t shy about talking about how delicious these drink products are. Nudie Sparkling drinks are included in this category, with many customers preferring them to artificially flavored soft drinks sweetened with high fructose corn syrup.
- Local, non-GMO Ingredients – Many Australians enjoy having a brand of juice drinks that are made from fruit sourced almost entirely from Australia and that are certified to come from non-GMO sources.
- No International Availability – While Nudie products are ubiquitous in Australian supermarkets and convenience stores, there’s no international market for the company’s drinks.
- That means there’s no way to get your hands on one of these products if you don’t actually live within Australia (or possibly nearby New Zealand).
Nudie Sparkling Review Summary
From all apparent sources, Nudie makes some truly delicious fruit drinks that have a passionate following in Australia. Nudie Sparkling is part of this, and its use of no artificial sweeteners or preservatives has earned it accolades from health-conscious Aussies who still fancy a sweet tasting carbonated soft drink now and again.
The problem we encounter here is that at this point Nudie Sparkling products are exclusive to Australia. You’re not going to be able to walk into your local Tesco in the UK or a 7-11 in the US to pick up a bottle of the stuff, as it’s simply not shipped out of the country. This has the unintended effect of limiting its appeal on an international level.
There’s little to be done for this. There’s no hints that Nudie is going to look into international product distribution, especially since that might require adding preservatives to their product to keep it stable while shipping.
This also means that it’s a complete impracticality to have a friend or relative ship you some Nudie products internationally without some expensive refrigerated packaging.
In essence, if you happen to be Australian or you’re already planning a trip to Oz, you’ll have a nice treat waiting for you. Otherwise, sadly, you’re out of luck.
