What is MentalFlex?
MentalFlex is a nutritional supplement that claims to use natural ingredients to “enhance focus, boost energy, and improve memory”. It also labels itself as an “elite brain supplement”.
Obviously, we’ve seen plenty of nutritional supplements sold online with similar promises. There are hundreds of nootropics that also claim to use natural ingredients to supercharge your cognitive ability.
So is MentalFlex really any different? Or does this supplement really have the ingredients and research to back up its bold claims? Let’s take a closer look at how it works.
How Does MentalFlex Work?
MentalFlex claims to use “the best all natural nootropic ingredients” backed by extensive scientific research. The makers of the formula claim to have analyzed “decades” of nootropic research before picking the ingredients in MentalFlex.
Like many nootropic formulas we see sold online these days, MentalFlex hides most of its ingredients within a “proprietary blend’. When ingredients are hidden within a proprietary blend, it means the manufacturer doesn’t have to tell you about each individual ingredient’s dosage. This is exceptionally popular for nootropics.
Unfortunately, dosing is extremely important in the nootropics world. A few milligrams (or even micrograms) of one powerful ingredient can be the difference between effectiveness and ineffectiveness.
Worse, dosing can be dangerous: MentalFlex hides “caffeine” in its proprietary blend. It doesn’t list the dosage of caffeine. Does MentalFlex contain about the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee (100mg)? Or does it contain the same amount as 3 cups of coffee? We’ve seen both dosages in nootropic supplements. This is important information if you’re caffeine-sensitive.
In any case, MentalFlex contains your usual blend of trendy nootropic ingredients. There are a blend of B vitamins and vitamin D3, for example, along with Bacopa monnieri, L-theanine, caffeine, phosphatidylserine, alpha GPC, alpha lipoic acid, L-Tyrosine, vinpocetine, and Huperzine A. The dosages for the B vitamins and vitamin D3 are clearly listed, although the dosages on the remaining ingredients are not.
Without dosage information, it’s difficult to tell whether or not MentalFlex works or not. The manufacturer cites studies where researchers used a dose of, say, 20mg of vinpocetine – but it’s unclear if that same amount of vinpocetine is found in MentalFlex.
Making things look worse for MentalFlex is that the supplement’s manufacturer has not performed any clinical studies on the supplement. All of the evidence comes from third-party studies on the individual ingredients.
MentalFlex Ingredients
As mentioned above, the makers of MentalFlex are extremely vague and non-transparent about their ingredients. We only know basic information about the ingredients listed. Here are those ingredients:

-15mg of Vitamin B3 (75% DV)
-5mg of Vitamin B6 (250% DV)
-30mcg of Vitamin B12 (500% DV)

The only other thing we know about these ingredients is that there’s a 2:1 ratio of L-theanine to caffeine. Once again, it’s unclear how much caffeine there is in the supplement.
It’s also important to note that the dosages above are for each 2 capsule serving. There are only 7 servings in each package of MentalFlex.
Another important thing to note is that MentalFlex repeatedly tells you that it uses “100% all natural ingredients”. Do ingredients like “FD&C Yellow #6” sound natural to you? Probably not. Many of the ingredients are derived or originally processed from natural sources, but calling the supplement “100% natural” is a ridiculous stretch. You’re taking a bunch of ingredients that have passed through a lab or processing facility at some point.

MentalFlex isn’t doing well so far in this review. It’s under-dosed, comes with mostly-unlabeled ingredient dosages, and is only available online from one website. Well, MentalFlex gets even worse when you find out the price:

Should You Take MentalFlex to Improve your Cognition and Focus?
MentalFlex is a scam, plain and simple. The manufacturer has taken well-known nootropic ingredients, mashed them all together in an unknown blend, refused to disclose dosage information, and then packaged everything up into a ridiculously expensive bottle with shady marketing tactics (like claiming “100% natural ingredients” when few things inside are actually natural).
Priced at $60 for just a 7 day supply, MentalFlex may be the most expensive nootropic on the market today. Making things worse is that the ingredients appear to be relatively weak compared to most other nootropics on the market. For all we know, the pill consists mostly of caffeine.
It’s also important to recognize that MentalFlex has never been studied at all. There are no clinical trials reinforcing its safety or effectiveness. The individual ingredients inside the supplement have been tested (and the makers of MentalFlex happily cite those studies), but we have no evidence MentalFlex actually works as advertised.
For all of these reasons, MentalFlex is one nootropic supplement you should definitely avoid. After all, you can buy each individual ingredient at a higher dosage and a cheaper price.
