Montel Williams Launches LenitivLabs
Former TV talk show host Montel Williams has always been an outspoken advocate for medical marijuana. And now, he’s launching his own premium-grade medical marijuana product company.
Montel Williams has launched a new medical marijuana product company called LenitivLabs. The news was announced in a press release on September 8, with the company officially launching at the Cannabis World Congress and Business Exposition held next Tuesday at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Montel Williams has a history of medical marijuana advocacy, so it’s no surprise that he has launched his own premium-grade cannabis product lineup.
The company promises to create a “line of proprietary products” that “utilize the latest cannabis manufacturing technologies and research” to bring patients “the highest quality and consistency available”.
There are two parts of the company, including Lenitiv Scientific and LenitivLabs. The over-arching goal of the company, Montel says, is “to ensure that seriously ill individuals – like myself – have access to the medicine they need.”
Montel experiences neuropathic pain 24 hours a day because of his multiple sclerosis. Doctors have recommended cannabis as part of his treatment for the last 17 years, and he has used it regularly since.
“Only someone suffering from a debilitating disease can understand cannabis’s therapeutic value,” Montel added.
Montel Has Worked to Pass Cannabis Law Reform Across America
Montel has been out of the talk show world for a few years. But he hasn’t disappeared completely from the public eye. Montel has been an outspoken advocate for cannabis law reform across America.
The press release announcing LenitivLabs stated that Montel has “worked to pass medical cannabis legislation in states such as New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut”. He also continues to advocate for reform at the federal level and in other states.
Montel, who served 22 years in the military after graduating from the United States Naval Academy, has also led the push for military veterans to legally access medical marijuana without being threatened with losing their benefits.
The LenitivLabs Team Includes Pharmaceutical Industry Experts
Montel Williams is a founding partner of LenitivLabs. Other founding partners include David Racz, who will serve as the company’s CEO. Racz has operational experience in both the pharmaceutical and cannabis industries. Marvin Washington, who played 11 years in the NFL and has been an outspoken advocate for medical marijuana access among athletes, also joined the company.
Meanwhile, the advisory board includes Former Director, Central Intelligence, Ambassador R. James Woolsey, and Retired Vice Admiral Edward M. Straw.
Where Will LenitivLabs Operate?
Lenitiv Scientific will only sell products in states that currently allow for the sale of medical marijuana.
As marijuana laws inevitably change across America, the company will continue to expand.
