Fibersol Review – Worth Taking?

Fibersol is a lineup of fiber supplements that promise to make it easy to increase your fiber consumption. Here’s our Fibersol review.

What is Fibersol?

Fibersol is a lineup of fiber supplements including Fibersol-2, Fibersol-2AG, and Fibersol-LQ.

The formulas are sold to food, beverage, and supplement manufacturers, who then add the highly bioavailable form of fiber to their own products. Today, you can find a wide variety of Fibersol supplements sold online and in stores around the world.

Fibersol was created after the founders of the company realized most of the world wasn’t getting enough fiber. So they set out to create a product that could easily be added to common foods.

What they ended up with was Fibersol, which is categorized as a soluble, non-viscous dietary fiber. These fibers, according to the makers of Fibersol, “typically have a positive effect on intestinal health, provide very little ‘bulk’, and are mostly undetectable in finished products.” They don’t affect the taste or viscosity of a food or beverage, for example, so they can easily be added to increase something’s nutritional profile.

Fibersol also cites a study from the US National Cancer Institute where they found that increasing dietary fiber intake is associated with a lower risk of dying from cardiovascular, infectious, and respiratory diseases.

How Does Fibersol Work?

Fibersol contains a minimum of 90% dietary fiber. It’s a tasteless source of soluble dietary fiber that can easily be added to foods, beverages, and supplements.

By taking Fibersol daily, you can enjoy health benefits like increased digestive regularity, better immune system health, and weight loss.

Fiber works by increasing satiety. It makes us feel fuller. At the same time, fiber binds to food items in our digestive tract, helping to physically remove them from the body.

Fiber won’t work unless you hydrate, so consider drinking more water when you’re taking Fibersol.

The recommended amount of fiber per day, according to WebMD.com, is 25 grams a day for women under 50 years old and 38 grams a day for men under 50.

How is Fibersol Used?

The Fibersol website specifically describes how the fiber formula is used in a variety of food products and beverages, including all of the following:

  • Baking
  • Beverages
  • Dairy Products
  • Confectionary
  • Dips, Sauces, and Dressings
  • Cereal Applications
  • Snack Applications

Scientific Evidence for Fibersol

The makers of Fibersol claim high levels of fiber can facilitate weight loss, encourage digestive regularity, and provide other health benefits. The company’s products – including Fibersol-2 – have gone through several scientific studies reinforcing these benefits.

One study by researchers at Iowa State involved 19 people (9 men and 10 women) who were asked to consume a standard-sized meal and then given a tea containing 0, 5, or 10 grams of Fibersol-2. Blood samples were then taken every 30 minutes.

The study found that the group who took 10 grams of Fibersol-2 had a significant delay in hunger along with increased satiety 1.5 to 2 hours after digestion. Lower doses of Fibersol-2 (including the 0 and 5 gram teas) were not observed to have the same effects.

Another study showed that FIbersol-2 could increase digestive regularity. The study involved 20 people (14 females and 6 males) with fecal frequency fewer than three times per week. Subjects received 3.75 grams of Fibersol 2 every day for 5 days. After that supplementation, the participants increased their average digestive regularity from 2.6 times to 4.0 times per week. The volume also increased, as did levels of a probiotic bacteria called bifidobacteria, which our body needs to digest food and maintain the effectiveness of our immune system.

Other studies have reinforced the benefits of Fibersol 2, including showing that it reduces body fat, blocks fat accumulation, improves carbohydrate metabolism, lowers total cholesterol levels, and lowers LDL cholesterol levels.

Ultimately, Fibersol’s benefits appear to be backed up by good science showing that it can provide a wide variety of health-boosting benefits.

How to Buy Fibersol

Fibersol can be found in many foods, drinks, and supplements sold all over the world.
