What is eMeals?

eMeals is an online meal planning service which promises to make meal planning as simple as possible. Plans start at $5 per month. You can choose to follow over 50 different diet and meal plans, including the paleo diet, clean eating diet, low carb diet, or low fat diet.

Whatever your dietary goals may be, eMeals aims to help you achieve those goals by outlining weekly menu plans. If you want to follow a paleo diet, then eMeals will deliver 7 paleo-friendly breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for you. eMeals emails the recipes and shopping lists to your inbox once a week on the date you request.

eMeals has actually been around since 2003, when it was known as e-Mealz. The company was founded by Jane DeLaney and her sister, Jenny Cochran, both of whom were frustrated trying to find the time to shop for, prep, and cook delicious and healthy meals for their families.

Jane – a mother of 4 – and Jenny – a mother of 3 – decided to team up to launch eMeals. Since 2003, the site has grown to feature over 50 meal plans with thousands of customers around the world.

eMeals has recently generated a flurry of attention after being endorsed by finance expert Dave Ramsey. Ramsey supports eMeals because he claims that prudent shopping and cooking is an excellent way to start saving money and building wealth – of course, he’s also likely being paid quite a bit of money to support eMeals.

The company has also been featured on ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, and Southern Living.

What Kinds of Meal Plans Are Available?

eMeals has over 50 different meal plans available. eMeals.com claims that it has a meal plan to “fit your family, your budget, and your lifestyle.”

Plans are separated into dinner, lunch, breakfast, and dessert plans. You can choose to order just a dinner plan, for example, or receive recipes and meals for all three meals per day (plus dessert).

Here are a few of the most popular meal plans included in eMeals: Classic Meals, Clean Eating, Paleo, Low Calorie, Slow Cooker, Budget Friendly, 30 Minute Meals, Kid Friendly, Low Fat, Low Carb, Portion Control, Heart Healthy, Vegetarian, Diabetic, Gluten Free, and Simple Gourmet.

How Do the Meal Plans Work?

Depending on the plan you chose, you’ll receive a weekly email featuring full meal details for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or dessert (or all four).

A sample meal plan looks like this:

As you can see, each meal includes a thorough description of the ingredients required. You can also see the prep time, cook time, and total time, as well as the macronutrients of each meal (calories, carbs, and fiber).

Make each meal by following the instructions. In addition to the meal plan listed above, you’ll receive a grocery shopping list. This shopping list explains the specific amount of each food to get as well as the meals in which those ingredients are used.

The end result looks like this:

Some plans work at every grocery store. Other plans, however, are specially chosen to correspond with different sales at different grocery stores. Affiliated grocery stores include:

— ALDI
— Costco
— Kroger
— Publix
— Safeway
— Target
— Walmart
— Whole Foods

According to most reviews online, the meals are delicious and nutritious. They’re also relatively easy to make – especially if you choose the short-prep time plans. By carefully following the included shopping list at the grocery store, you can end up saving a lot of money.

How Much Does eMeals Cost?

— 12 Month Dinner Plan: $58 ($5 per month)
— 6 Month Dinner Plan: $48 ($8 per month)
— 3 Month Dinner Plan: $30 ($10 per month)

The prices listed above are for dinner meal plans. You can add breakfasts, lunches, and desserts to your meal plan at the following rates:

— 12 Month Lunch Plan: $48 ($4 per month)
— 12 Month Breakfast Plan: $36 ($3 per month)
— 12 Month Dessert Plan: $36 ($3 per month)

eMeals currently offers a 14 day trial. This trial lets you receive two 7 day meal plans for your family. You can see what eMeals is all about and sample some delicious meals in the process. You can sign up for this free trial simply by creating a free account at emeals.com.

Many of the eMeals.com reviews center around the idea that customers will make their money back after just a few short months of using eMeals. You won’t be wasting as much money at the grocery store, for example, and you’ll be focused only on buying the foods you need.

Who Should Use eMeals?

eMeals is one of the easiest ways to maintain a healthier lifestyle. Maybe you’ve always wanted to try the paleo diet, but don’t know where to start. Or maybe you just want your family to eat cleaner.

Whatever the case may be, eMeals will give you a full meal plan and shopping list for every day of the week. From main plates to side dishes, from prep time to cook time, eMeals makes meal planning ridiculously easy.

If you’re willing to pay the $5 to $10 per month fee, then eMeals could be one of the best dietary – and financial – choices your family makes this year.
