DietSensor Review – Real Weight Loss Help?

Whether the goal is to lose weight or stay in shape, health and fitness revolve around a healthy diet. Healthy eating is doesn’t necessarily require strict dietary limitations, extreme weight loss, or depriving the body of all the cravings. The goal of healthy mental, emotional, and physical health is feeling good, having more energy, and improving one’s overall outlook on life.

Eating right allows the maintenance of a healthy weight, and the avoidance of specific health problems that arise from dietary deficiencies. Whatever food or drink is consumed into the body has an overwhelming effect on mood and a sense of well-being. The average Western diet consists mostly of processed meats, packaged meals, takeout, snacks high in sugar, and high calorie beverages. These unhealthy diets result in higher rates of stress, anxiety, depression, and mental health disorders.

With society stunned by the growing obesity problem and overall health risks, eating healthy has become more needed than ever before. Thanks to all the available literature and resources, healthy eating is not as daunting as it sounds. The first step is to set up a successful eating plan keeping nine tips in mind. The key to a healthy diet is moderation, reducing sugar, eating a variety of colorful fruits and vegetables, bulking up on fiber, choosing healthy carbohydrates and whole grains, adding calcium for bone healthy, adding protein for energy, being conscious of food intake, and including foods rich in omega-3 fats, “healthy” fats.

Although there are a number of diet strategies that have circulated mainstream media, weight management still boils down to the intake of calories versus the calories that are burned off. Calories are the energy from food, which the body demands. However, the stored calories will remain in the body and turn into fat unless they are used up. The simple solution to avoid weight gain is burn more calories than are consumed.

Smartphone technology has allowed individuals to download apps that make health and fitness customizable and easy to track. DietSensor is a French-based startup which has created a tool that scans food items and determines the nutritional value. Funding has been received, and the DietSensor app will be available on the market in September 2016. Revolutionary to the healthy living platform, this program makes healthy eating effortless.

About DietSensor

DietSensor asserts that in synchrony with a small molecular scanner known as the SCiO, that it is able to immediately collect accurate nutritional information on a variety of food. The SCiO device was developed by an Israeli company called Consumer Physics, and claims to be the frontrunner in this technology. The device is capable of reading the chemical makeup of all materials, non-intrusively. DietSensor is programmed to run on iPhones 5C,5S,6, 6 Plus, 6S, and 6S Plus. It is also available to run on Android devices 4.3 or higher. A Bluetooth connection is required to pair with the SCiO scanner.

The technology of DietSensor is much like other meal tracking apps in that is allows the user to scan food or barcodes for information. What makes DietSensor distinctive is the extent of which the nutritional coaching advice goes. DietSensor uses the user profile information that presents goals, and uses the food analysis to make judgments based on far more than just calories. The SCiO scanner is not only fast, but the only one of its kind. In a matter of seconds, the user has access to a breakdown of nutritional information displayed on the smartphone device, and how the selection will impact healthy eating goals.

DietSensor usually delivers the information from the SCiO Scan in a range of 8 to 10 seconds per item. This process includes the first couple seconds to aim the SCiO scanner, another couple of seconds to scan, 1 seconds for analysis, and another 4-5 seconds to then transmit the spectrum and receiving the results through a 3G internet connection to the DietSensor App. These receiving times are subject to change determining the strength of the smartphone data connection.

When choosing items to scan, the DietSensor has the ability to read any food that has a single, consistent, texture. In order to experience accuracy, the scanned surface as well as the internal components must be made of the same material. An apple would be considered homogenous, while a multilayered sandwich would not. Although non-homogenous foods cannot be scanned into the DietSensor app, they have equipped the program with one of the most exhaustive food databases on the market. The database has more than 600,000 food items, available from 50 countries, in 12 languages, to ensure than all food can logged.

Features of DietSensor

Once launched in September 2016, DietSensor will be available to download from all AppStores, Apple or Google, respectively. The app will be accessible in both French and English worldwide. Although the app will be available worldwide, the full feature version of DietSensor will only be available for Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States.

DietSensor is dependent on location in order to produce accurate results based on local foods and beverage. Although released worldwide, is is tailored to American and Western European style of foods and beverages. Though only released in French and English, the local food database will be tailored to be searchable in Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish, however, as the food database adds more countries, the database selections for style of foods and beverages will expand.

DietSensor uses the spectrometry process and the spectrometric scanner technology, SCiO, to detect the materials and concentrations measured 1% or more. The database is being improved over time as both companies, Consumer Physics and DietSensor, are populating the databases with a wider variety of food. Spectrometry allows for detection of not only materials, but cooking ingredients. It can recognize oil that has been added, or how much butter is on a slice of bread – unavailable on all other food databases.

Though DietSensor is capable of detecting a number of materials, it cannot detect allergens and users should not rely on the app to protect them from the consequences. The SCiO scans small portions of a sample or food at one time, and cannot guarantee the absence of a particular material, or molecules in each serving.

Another feature of DietSensor is its ability to collect data on alcoholic beverages. Alcohol contains ethanol, which measures almost as much as fat, to the diet. Tracking alcohol intake is important in maintaining a balanced diet, and limiting alcohol can drastically reduce calorie intake.

DietSensor has the ability to estimate weight if indicated in the entered data. However, estimating weight relying only visual approximates can be inaccurate. DietSensor can be connected to a Bluetooth scale by incorporating the “Serve (Weigh), Scan and Eat” function.

The primary, and most important feature of DietSensor is the ability to manage health by facilitating food intake by giving users the responsibility of sticking to their health and nutrition goals. DietSensor gives suggestions in real time each time an item is scanned, staying in sync with the diet goals to make the most impactful and efficient results. Whether the user is combating diabetes, obesity, or high cholesterol, each user is given tailor-made, personalized, nutritional advice.
