Capsiplex Sport – Safe Alternative To Boost Energy & Metabolism?

on

Capsiplex Sport is a nutritional supplement that promises to boost your energy before a workout and help you burn 300 extra calories. Here’s our Capsiplex review.

What is Capsiplex Sport?

Capsiplex Sport is a preworkout formula that comes in the form of a pill. You take the pill 30 minutes before a workout to boost your energy.

The makers of Capsiplex Sport claim that you can burn off 278 extra calories by taking the supplement before a workout.

Capsiplex Sport works using an ingredient found in chili peppers. The makers of Capsiplex claim that “chili is king when it comes to raising your metabolism, and keeping your weight and body fat under control.” It’s true: a growing number of diet pills and supplement manufacturers are now using capsaicin – an ingredient in chili peppers to induce thermogenesis in your body.

Thermogenesis is basically a fancy name for heating up your body and making you sweat. By inducing thermogenesis, you can burn more calories before and after a workout. In any case, Capsiplex Sport advertises itself as an ideal preworkout supplement for all types of gym-goers – including professional athletes or once-a-weekers.

How Does Capsiplex Sport Work?

Capsiplex Sport claims to work using pure and tested ingredients. You pop one pill before your workout, then wait 30 minutes and start exercising. The secret power behind Capsiplex Sport, as mentioned above, comes from a chili extract called capsaicin. Capsaicin comes from capsicum extract.

It’s the component that gives you the spice in chili. It’s also the reason why you sweat after eating a good curry. Capsaicin makes you sweat by inducing thermogenesis. It also increases your metabolism, heating up your body and increasing your energy expenditure.

There’s also evidence that capsaicin can stimulate lipolysis, which is your body’s fat breakdown. In addition to capsaicin, Capsiplex Sport contains ingredients like caffeine and L-arginine, both of which are very common in preworkout formulas. If you swallow a pill containing chili extract, are you going to be in pain? The makers of Capsiplex Sport claim that’s not the case.

They’ve specially designed their capsule to protect your taste buds from the spice. There’s a non-irritating outer coating, a capsicum extract layer, and an inert core. All of this means you get the benefits of capsaicin without the spiciness. It passes through your stomach before releasing its active ingredients in your intestines.

As evidence that Capsiplex Sport works as advertised, the makers of the formula cite 9 different studies on this page. Three of those studies cover chili pepper extract, while the other studies involve L-arginine, piperine, and other ingredients in Capsiplex Sport.

Will Capsiplex Sport Really Help You Burn 278 More Calories?

Capsiplex Sport makes a big deal out of the fact that it will help you burn 278 more calories per day. This claim is scattered all over the official website. It’s featured prominently on the packaging. That’s approximately the same number of calories you would burn in 30 minutes of cycling or jogging. It’s a huge number for taking just one pill.

However, none of the studies listed above were performed specifically on Capsiplex Sport. Instead, they were performed on the individual ingredients in the formula. So where does this number come from? The makers of Capsiplex Sport claim that a scientific test was based off a trial at the University of Oklahoma.

In that trial, subjects either took a Capsiplex pill or a placebo before existing. Researchers then monitored the 25 subjects for the amount of energy they expended, their oxygen consumption, and their heart rate.

Researchers concluded that the Capsiplex group burned three times more calories before exercise, 3% more calories during exercise, and 12 times more calories one hour after existing. This amounted to 278 extra calories in total.

Here’s the bad news: we could find no evidence that this study actually took place. There are no links to the study available on the Capsiplex website. We don’t have any further details about the study – like the type of people who were involved in the study, or how they came up with the 278 calories number.

Ultimately, there isn’t enough evidence that Capsiplex works as advertised.

Capsiplex Sport Ingredients

The makers of Capsiplex Sport, for some mysterious reason, refuse to disclose their full list of ingredients online. The company lists the names of the ingredients, but it never gives us any dosage information.

That’s a big problem: caffeine is a well-known stimulant and thermogenesis agent. It’s a listed ingredient in Capsiplex Sport, but the dosage is unknown. We’ve seen other supplement manufacturers use high amounts of caffeine in their formula to trick customers into thinking they’re taking a powerful dose.

The Capsiplex Sport sales page simply says that “the amount [of caffeine] in Capsiplex is roughly equivalent to a large cup of coffee”. A large cup of coffee has anywhere from 150mg to 300mg of caffeine (for comparison, a can of Red Bull has 80mg of caffeine). The use of a phrase like “roughly equivalent” worries us. Later on, the sales page says “there is only a tiny amount of caffeine”. It seems like they’re hiding something.

In any case, here are the four listed ingredients in Capsiplex Sport:

  • Caffeine
  • Vitamin B3
  • L-Arginine
  • Piperine
  • Capsicum Extract

Who Makes Capsiplex Sport?

Capsiplex Sport is made by an unknown company. The makers of the supplement never provide the name of the company – which is one of many red flags surrounding this supplement.

We do have basic contact information, including phone numbers and email addresses you can view here.

To get in touch with the makers of Capsiplex Sport, email [email protected] or call 1-888-761-9269.

Note: Capsiplex uses very similar marketing to a supplement called CapsiMax, a popular diet pill made by OmniActive Health Technologies.

In fact, Capsiplex Sport even cites the CapsiMax website when citing scientific evidence. It’s unclear if Capsiplex Sport has any link to OmniActive Health Technologies and CapsiMax, but the two products are suspiciously similar.

Capsiplex Sport Review Summary

Capsiplex Sport appears to be a scam. There’s no information about the manufacturer available online. The manufacturer refuses to tell us anything about the ingredient dosages – including the caffeine dosage (which is extremely worrying).

Safety concerns aside, the lack of dosage information makes it difficult to compare Capsiplex Sport to other similar supplements on the market. Many modern supplements use OmniActive’s Capsimax capsicum extract as part of their diet pill, for example.

Prices vary widely for these supplements – but most don’t cost $60 for one bottle (it’s also important to note that Capsiplex Sport doesn’t even explain how many capsules are in each bottle).

Ultimately, there are too many red flags surrounding Capsiplex Sport. Capsaicin and caffeine are proven weight loss aids. However, there are plenty of better – and cheaper – ways to get those ingredients in your body.
