What is Bulletproof Aging Formula?

Bulletproof Aging Formula is a nutritional supplement that promises to provide metabolic support against multiple aging conditions. By taking it daily, you can “optimize clear cognitive potential.

Other benefits of the supplement include:

Each bottle of Bulletproof Aging Formula is priced at $49 (sold online through Bulletproof.com) and contains 30 capsules. You take one capsule per day.

So far, Bulletproof Aging Formula has attracted good reviews on the official website: over 500 Facebook users have “liked” the supplement, and it has an average rating of 5 stars out of 5 with 37 reviews.

But does Bulletproof Aging Formula actually work as advertised? Let’s take a closer look at its ingredients and methods of action.

How Does Bulletproof Aging Formula Work?

Bulletproof claims its Aging Formula was released “after years of testing”. After much experimentation, they found a new substance that rose above the rest and provided safe, effective benefits in your brain.

That substance is called oxaloacetate, or OAA.

OAA, according to Bulletproof, is “shown to protect neurons in the brain from common environmental toxins. Bulletproof also claims the compound improves short-term memory while also raising quality and length of life.

Oxaloacetate may sound like an exotic compound, but it’s actually a nutrient found in many foods. Your body relies on oxaloacetate as a critical metabolic compound:

“In fact, it’s so critical that oxaloacetate is actually required for your body to make energy, to make proteins, and even to make its own fat”, explains the official Bulletproof website.

Does Oxaloacetate Actually Work?

Obviously, oxaloacetate is the key active ingredient in Bulletproof’s Aging Formula. But does it actually work to turn back the clock on aging?

Bulletproof has written an extensive “Science” page to answer this question. That science page claims that oxaloacetate can give you all of the benefits of calorie restriction while saving you from the negatives. That’s because it works as a “calorie restriction mimetic”. Bulletproof cites tests on animals where calorie restriction extended lifespans by “up to 50%”.

Then, they also cite tests that specifically pertain to oxaloacetate. For example, this test published in Aging Cell in 2009 showed that oxaloacetate supplementation increased lifespan by mimicking the effects of reduced caloric intake. Researchers summed up the study by stating that oxaloacetate provided a more reasonable method of enjoying the health benefits of calorie restrictions without actually restricting calories.

In another study published in Cellular and Molecular Neurobiology in 2009, researchers looked at whether or not oxaloacetate could be used to protect the brain after it experiences injury. Researchers found that oxaloacetate had powerful neuroprotective effects due to its blood glutamate-scavenging activity. Bulletproof claims that excess glutamate can accumulate in the brain, which then leads to chronic stress, sleep problems, and even mental impairment.

Bulletproof has published dozens of other studies linking oxaloacetate to improved cognitive function. Many of these studies are performed on rats or roundworms, while few of the studies have been performed on humans. The studies also don’t mention the ideal dosage of oxaloacetate for humans – so we can’t definitively say whether the Bulletproof Aging Formula dose is the appropriate amount.

Nevertheless, overall, early research seems to support the use of oxaloacetate. Most of the studies have involved rats or smaller animals, and we need to see more human studies before we determine an approximate oxaloacetate dosage.

Bulletproof Aging Formula Ingredients

Bulletproof spends a lot of time talking about oxaloacetate. However, the actual formula consists mostly of vitamin C. Here are the two ingredients in the Bulletproof Aging Formula:

— 250mg of “Upgraded Aging Formula” (consists of 150mg of vitamin C and 100mg of oxaloacetate)

Bulletproof claims their oxaloacetate is thermally stabilized. Typically, you have to store the compound at -40 degrees C. Bulletproof claims that’s not the case with the ingredient, and that it will arrive in your bloodstream 30 minutes after you ingest it.

Bulletproof also claims that the vitamin C isn’t just for filler: vitamin C is a key ingredient in the formula because it acts as “an electron acceptor”, which stabilizes the oxaloacetate and unlocks its full potential.

Bulletproof Aging Formula Pricing

Bulletproof Aging Formula is priced at $49 for one bottle (30 capsules).

You can subscribe to the autoship program and save 5% off your order, dropping the price down to $46.55 per bottle. You can choose to automatically receive shipments of the supplement every 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, or 12 weeks – so you don’t necessarily have to buy one package every month.

Should You Use Bulletproof Aging Formula to Repair Brain Injury and Reduce Aging?

Bulletproof Aging Formula makes big claims about its benefits. The official Aging Formula sales page even has one review were someone “started to speak again after my poisoning caused brain injury”. Most reviewers on Bulletproof.com indicate that they take it daily and feel stronger mental clarity after taking it.

The existing research on oxaloacetate isn’t quite where we like it to be. We don’t know the ideal dosage in humans because, up to this point, most of the studies have been performed on rats or worms. However, research on these animals – and early research on humans – is generally positive in support of the use of oxaloacetate.

With Bulletproof supplements, you either believe in the effects or you don’t. If you’re willing to try a new supplement, then Bulletproof Aging Formula is one option available to you online today.
