What is Birkenstock Naturally Ageless?
Birkenstock Naturally Ageless is a lineup of anti-aging beauty products that promise to help your skin maintain its youthfulness for a long time. Like other anti-aging products on the market, Naturally Ageless promises to use a “unique combination of highly effective active agents” that “successfully prevents the signs of aging skin and visibly smooths the skin”.
Birkenstock hasn’t yet launched the product lineup. They’re preparing to launch the products in fall 2017 as part of a broader launch of 28 health and wellness products under the Natural Care family.
Why is Birkenstock Making Skin Care Products?
Yes, Birkenstock is the same company known for its comfy sandals, clogs, and slippers. The fact that they’re launching a skin care brand is big, unexpected news.
However, it’s not quite as weird as you might think: some of the skin care products use suberin, a derivative of cork oak extract. Birkenstock’s footwear is made from cork oak. In other words, you’re putting a footwear ingredient on your face to reduce the effects of aging.
The company’s signature cork material is also found on the skin care products’ packaging.
Birkenstock is launching a skin care lineup as part of its goal of becoming a broader health and wellness brand beyond just footwear.
In total, Birkenstock is planning to release 28 products as part of its Natural Care lineup. 7 of those products fall under the Naturally Ageless anti-aging product family. Other products in the lineup include a lineup of cleansers called Naturally Fresh Cleanse, and a lineup of skin and lip products called Naturally Pure Prevent.
In addition, three of the Birkenstock skin care products will be targeted towards male consumers. The products will cost between $17 and $74. The Naturally Ageless products don’t appear to have female or male-centric marketing – so they may appeal to a broad spectrum of users.
Birkenstock Naturally Ageless Products
Naturally Ageless is Birkenstock’s lineup of anti-aging moisturizers. There are 7 members of the product family so far. All products are launching in fall 2017, so we haven’t tried them yet. However, we know basic details about each of the products in the lineup, including:
- Anti-Aging Day Crème: Facial care product that provides an intensive moisturizing effect while also boosting cell regeneration and reducing wrinkles.
- Anti-Aging Night Crème: Facial care product that moisturizes, boosts cell regeneration, and reduces wrinkles.
- Anti-Aging Eye Crème: Facial care product that protects the sensitive area around your eyes from moisture loss while also reducing wrinkles.
- Anti-Aging Face Oil: A special facial care product that stimulates cell regeneration, reducing the visible signs of aging skin.

- Anti-Aging Hand and Nail Crème: Body care product that offers an intensive care and moisturizing effect that reduces the visible signs of aging skin.
- Anti-Aging Body Lotion: Body care product that moisturizes the skin and reduces the visible effects of aging.
As you can see, each of the products makes similar promises: they promise to moisturize your skin, provide powerful hydration, and reduce the visible effects of aging. That’s it. But how do they achieve those effects? Keep reading to find out.
How Do Birkenstock Naturally Ageless Products Work?
The Naturally Ageless products work in similar ways using similar ingredients. They’re just designed to target different parts of your skin. The two core ingredients in all products are cork oak and argan oil, although Birkenstock also adds a range of other botanicals and extracts into the mix.
Here are some of the active ingredients used in Naturally Ageless:
Cork Oak: Cork oak is the reason Birkenstock decided to make skin care products. This is the same stuff used in their footwear. Apparently, Birkenstock realized you can enjoy powerful skin care benefits from cork oak as well – particularly the suberin in cork oak.
Suberin is derived from cork oak extract. It has a mesh-like surface structure. This causes the active ingredients in suberin to be distributed evenly, which increases the absorption into the skin. This ultimately leads to enhanced skin firmness and smoothness.
Argan Oil: Along with cork oak, argan oil is the key product in the Naturally Ageless family. Argan oil comes from argan fruit, which is about the same size as dates. The fruit has a bitter pulp with almond-sized kernels that contain tiny, precious seeds. The cosmetic properties are based on a unique composition that is rarely seen in nature: the oil contains phytochemicals along with more than 80% linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and oleic acid. Together, these ingredients stop the skin from drying out.
Botanical Hyaluronic Acid: This acid has an intense moisturizing effect that also firms and smooths the skin.
Ginger Root Extract: This extract reduces reddishness, balances out the complexion, and smooths the skin.
Prickly Pear Seed Oil: Combats premature skin aging and regenerates the skin’s natural barrier.
Pomegranate: Regenerates skin cells, boosts elasticity, promotes cell regeneration, and reduces the formation of wrinkles.

Natural Ingredients: The ingredients in Naturally Ageless are BDIH Cosmos Natural approved, which means they include certified organic ingredients, and the raw ingredients meet certain production processes. This seal also ensures there are no petrochemical ingredients used in the formulas.
Nothing from Dead Animals: Naturally Ageless promises that none of its ingredients are made from dead animals.
Vegan: All ingredients are vegan and free of any animal-based components.
No Parabens: Parabens are similar to the hormone estrogen. They’re synthetic preservatives that have been linked to cancer, according to the Birkenstock website. There are no parabens in Naturally Ageless products.
No Paraffins: Paraffins are petroleum distillates that form a film on your skin, acting as a seal. This causes the skin below the seal to swell, leaving your skin chapped. Naturally Ageless products contain no paraffins.
No PEGs: Polyethylene glycols are water-soluble, chemical molecular compounds that make the skin permeable to harmful substances, causing the skin to dry out.

Should You Buy Birkenstock Naturally Ageless Products?
Birkenstock is best-known for its footwear. But later in 2017, the company is launching a lineup of skin care products based on cork oak extract – the same cork oak found in the company’s footwear.
The skin care products – including the Naturally Ageless anti-aging moisturizer lineup – come with unique, cork-fitted bottles and a range of certified organic, natural, vegan-friendly ingredients.
If you like the Birkenstock brand, and trust them to make good skincare products, then the Naturally Ageless anti-aging products may be the right choice for you.
