Stage One: Pre-Filter

I wanted to buy one but after I have read these posts about how awful service they have I am not so sure if I want to buy this water unit. Just terrible!
I ordered this about a year ago and it’s still working perfectly fine. I love it and for the price and convenience of not having to install anything (I live in an apartment) – it’s worth every penny!
Gave up and sent back the second unit after it also stopped working within a few days. The pushy customer service will try and convince you to keep it. They will try and charge you shipping fees that were supposed to be free. They do have a facebook page but I noticed they delete all the negative reviews. If you do call don’t select the if bought after this date selection. It’s not real. No matter when you bought it the other selection will talk to you.
AquaTru cannot be trusted.
To help them get started last year, I paid many months before the filter unit was delivered. At that time, they were happy to take money from an Australian customer and they did ship the unit to Australia after several months.
Now I need more filters and they informed me that they no longer ship to Australia, even though I am happy to pay the overseas postage. This means that I have paid hundreds of dollars for a water filter unit and its overseas shipping and will only be able to use it for six months. Bottled water would have been cheaper!
US customers might think that AquaTrue’s refusal to sell follow-up product overseas does not affect them in the US, however, if AquaTrue stops selling replacement filters to overseas customers now, when will they stop selling replacement filters altogether?
They pretend to be conscientious but seem to be just after a quick buck. It also makes me wonder about the quality of the filter itself and whether ‘The Truth About Cancer’, the site that promotes Aquatrue, is an equally dodgy entity.
I certainly agree. The customer service is lousy. Why would a company with such a god product have one of the lousiest customer service. I had credit card issues with the company; the company cancelled my order without notifying me, and, twice, cs reps (Indians) hang up on me. One of the things the company needs to realize is tha they have a good product, but it takes loss of customers and no sales to shut down a product or a company because of services not rendered to customers.
Worst company and product I’ve ever dealt with. They sent me a defective unit, so I sent it back. They sent a defective replacement, so I sent it back. They sent a third one – again defective. Then they sent replacement filters. Still didn’t work. They twice sent items to the wrong address, even after I tripled-checked the address with them on the phone. I wasted hours on the phone with them and at the post office. When I’d ask to speak to a manager, I was always told they’re in a meeting. I asked for a manager and repair engineer to call me. No one ever called. One time I insisted they put a manager on the phone, and the rep (ironically named Angel) rudely shouted me down and then hung up on me. I finally gave up and told them to send a refund – they said that after this whole nightmare, I’d have to pay return shipping. I finally got a rep who said they’d pay return shipping. Defective product, incompetent staff.
Don’t bother with this company! Customer service is a joke. Impossible to contact them if you have a problem. You can email them and they will tell you to call but you will always get a recording telling you to call during business hours no matter what time you call. I tried for three months. No resolve. Wish I had never bought this.
