Aquatron is a new company creating innovative and groundbreaking buoyancy aids and launching a kickstarter campaign in order to get the final tick of approval they need before starting mass production.
What Is Aquatron C-Pal?
C-Pal is a personal flotation device in the form of a wearable and inflatable life jacket. Unlike common life jackets, C-Pal is comfortable and has been designed to be easy to use in various contexts and therefore provide users with effective safety measures regardless of what water activity they are practicing.
Although water is associated with calm and serenity, it’s one of the most dangerous natural element. In fact, the World Health Organisation or WHO recorded 360 000 drownings in 2017. More than 300 Australians drown in rivers, tides, and the ocean. Therefore, it’s crucial to find a functional alternative to existing products as they are restrictive and difficult to inflate.
However, even the most experienced swimmer can encounter difficulties and be in need of a floating device. The founder of Aquatron had this idea of creating C-Pal after a life-threatening experience following a leg injury whilst snorkeling. The injured limb couldn’t be used to stay afloat which led to him repeatedly going under and having to hold his breath for several minutes before resurfacing.
Luckily, other snorkelers were nearby and managed to save him. This near death experience made him realize the importance of having an effective emergency flotation device. In this article, we will introduce you to the two types of C-Pals in order to help you decide if you should support Aquatron’s kickstarter campaign.
Aquatron C-Pal Swim Training Personal Flotation Device Products
Aquatron C-Pal provides two types of personal flotation devices suitable for distinct water activities. There is the C-Pal Neptune and the C-Pal Titan. The first one has been designed to be worn as an armband so that it’s simple to deploy if needed. It’s comfortable and easy to use solely by pulling on its red trigger.
C-Pal Neptune is suitable for water sports such as surfing or distance swimming whilst C-Pal Titan is more suited for rock fishing, boating, sailing or even kayaking. In fact, this second device is not as compact and is meant to sit deflated around the neck and shoulders of the user. In addition to the red trigger, this design features reflective tape, a whistle, and a light beacon.
Both revolutionary life jackets allow a wide range of motion and suit all water environments. Thus, they can also be used in swimming pools and are not only meant for extreme aquatic sports, they may also be worn by children. Furthermore, both C-Pal Neptune and C-Pal Titan comply to Australian and International standards for buoyancy aid.
