AlaskOmega Review – Should You Buy?

AlaskOmega is a fish oil supplement that is designed to help prevent issues caused by multiple heart conditions. This is our review.

What is AlaskOmega?

AlaskOmega is a form of omega-3 concentrates and fish oil products. For this particular type of supplement, Organic Technology starts with catching wild Alaskan Pollock to produce oil. These fish are caught from Alaska’s Bering Sea. Once caught, the oil is refined in the family-owned and operated NSF-certified GMP facility in Ohio.

According to Organic Technologies, AlaskOmega® omega-3 concentrates are available up to 85% Total Omega-3 content in both EE and TG form.

The fish that produce the oil used in this supplement comes exclusively from MSC-certified sustainable Wild Alaska Pollock, which is part of the Cod family. Since the company only uses a very specific type of fish to produce their fish oil, the company is able to give consumers certainty when using this product, ensuring it can give them a pure and effective dose of fish oil.

To ensure that this fish oil maintains its effective properties, the Wild Alaska Pollock are used within hours of being caught. In fact, there are specific employees known as “processors” that extract the oils they need in enough time to maintain the potency.

Once extracted, Organic Technologies uses TOTOX, which is a measure of both primary and secondary oil oxidation. The measure is a common occurrence in the omega-3 industry as a proxy for oil freshness.

How AlaskOmega Works

The first question you may have at this point is, what exactly AlaskOmega does. AlaskOmega is derived from fish oil, which is used to help lower triglyceride levels in the blood. High levels of triglycerides can lead to coronary artery disease, heart disease, and stroke. Essentially, by taking a regular Fish Oil supplement, like AlaskOmega, you reduce your risk of major heart problems presently and in the future.

In addition to the vascular issues it can help with, fish oil is capable of helping with many different areas of the body. For instance, there have been several studies done to see if the way that fish oil helps to prevent heart disease is equivalent to the way it can help with hypertension.

AlaskOmega meets specific certifications for safety and quality. Those certifications include:

  • NSF Certification 2016 and NSF for Sport Certification 2016
  • MSC Certification Aug 2017
  • IFANCA Halal Certificate 2016

One of the main risks of using any fish oil product is the ability to increase your risk of bleeding. That being said, you should speak with your physician before you begin to take fish oil in your regular nutrition need. If your physician does not approve the change, you can still speak with him about alternative ways to naturally impact your heart and body health.

  1. Wrong description on how fish oils are made. “Raw fish oil triglycerides are broken down into Ethyl Ester.” is not correct even though you got this from their website. Correct statement should be fish oils, natural triglycerides, are reacted with ethanol and NaOH (catalyst) to destroy the fish oil and turn it into fatty acid ethyl esters (FAEE).
