TrueBroc Review – Worth Trying?

TrueBroc is a nutritional formula that contains a high dose of glucoraphanin, which is the part of broccoli that delivers its health benefits. Here’s our TrueBroc review.

What is TrueBroc?

TrueBroc is a nutritional supplement made by a company called Brassica. That company sells its own Brassica tea and coffee as well as a TrueBroc supplement.

The TrueBroc supplement, as you may have guessed from its name, contains a purified version of a compound found in broccoli. That compound is glucoraphanin, and broccoli is one of the best natural sources of the compound.

We all know that broccoli is healthy. But many of us don’t like the taste of broccoli, or find it difficult to add to meals. TrueBroc promises to solve that problem by giving you the healthy parts of broccoli in a convenient capsule.

Food manufacturers can also contact Brassica to license the formula for use in their own nutritional supplements.

Benefits of TrueBroc

TrueBroc uses glucoraphanin to achieve all of the following benefits:

  • Works as an antioxidant in your body for up to 72 hours
  • Meets intestinal microflora and is converted to sulforaphane, which delivers the antioxidant benefits of glucoraphanin
  • Protects DNA from damage through antioxidant and anti-inflammatory capabilities

Ultimately, glucoraphanin is one of the key nutrients in broccoli that makes it a superfood. However, it’s only within the last 20 years that scientists have discovered how to extract glucoraphanin and place it in nutritional supplements and formulas.

Brassica has performed a number of studies on its formula and on glucoraphanin. The formula has been extensively studied since 1992 by researchers at Johns Hopkins. You can view a list of clinical trials here.

How Does TrueBroc Work?

Brassica extracts glucoraphanin from broccoli seeds using a “natural, hot water process”. The resulting extract is then added to beverages like Brassica Tea & Coffee or nutritional supplements like TrueBroc.

After entering the body, TrueBroc delivers many health benefits. First, its antioxidant capabilities help to fight back against oxidative stress caused by pollutants and toxins. And, it protects our cells from free radicals caused by environmental contaminants.

TrueBroc also helps to deliver a healthy inflammatory response while boosting phase 2 enzymes, enhancing the detoxification of cells.

You get more glucoraphanin in each serving of TrueBroc than you get from raw broccoli. 1 cup of chopped, raw broccoli has 15mg of glucoraphanin. Meanwhile, TrueBroc-branded supplements typically contain between 30 and 100mg of glucoraphanin in each serving.

TrueBroc Products

Brassica, the makers of TrueBroc, have two core product lineups, including their Brassica Tea & Coffee as well as their TrueBroc formula.

Instead of selling their TrueBroc formula in their own nutritional supplements, the company licenses the formula out to other nutritional supplement manufacturers. So you may buy a multivitamin supplement that uses TrueBroc as an active ingredient, for example.

Brassica Tea & Coffee

Brassica Tea is a type of gourmet Sencha green tea and black tea that contains 15mg of TrueBroc glucoraphanin in each tea bag. You can buy it in five different varieties.

By drinking the tea daily, you can purportedly support your body’s natural detoxification system and protect your body from damage caused by pollutants and toxins. The tea is available in caffeinated and decaf varieties.

The coffee, on the other hand, is available in light or dark roast varieties. No decaffeinated version is available. It was launched in April 2016.

The Brassica coffee comes in the form of a K-Cup capsule designed for use with your Keurig. Each K-Cup contains 15mg of TrueBroc glucoraphanin. Two cups of brewed TrueBroc coffee gives you the same amount of glucoraphanin that you would consume if you ate half a head of broccoli.

The manufacturer reminds everyone that neither the tea nor the coffee tastes anything like broccoli: it just contains one compound from broccoli: glucoraphanin. It doesn’t have any broccoli flavor.

TrueBroc Formula

TrueBroc is a branded version of glucoraphanin. Brassica claims that the formula was created in collaboration with researchers at Johns Hopkins.

Today, Brassica sells their TrueBroc formula for use as an ingredient in foods, beverages, or supplements.
