Total Cleanse Plus Review – Worth Using?

Total Cleanse Plus is a nutritional supplement that promises to cleanse your colon, promote digestive regularity, and eliminate waste and toxins from your body. Here’s our review.

What is Total Cleanse Plus?

Total Cleanse Plus is a nutritional supplement that promises to detoxify your body using all natural ingredients.

The ingredients in Total Cleanse Plus encourage your body to maintain digestive regularity while also cleansing toxins from the body. In layman’s terms, it means you poop more while using Total Cleanse Plus.

To do that, Total Cleanse Plus uses ingredients similar to the ones we see in other digestive health supplements – like the fiber-rich psyllium husk.

The manufacturer of Total Cleanse Plus recommends taking one capsule in the morning before your first meal and another capsule before dinner. If you can do that, then you can eliminate waste in your digestive tract – including your colon.

How does Total Cleanse Plus actually work? Let’s look at its methods of action.

How Does Total Cleanse Plus Work?

Total Cleanse Plus claims to use a 100% all natural formula to gently remove toxins from your body. Those ingredients are hidden within a proprietary formula and include:

  • Oat Seed
  • Alfalfa
  • Psyllium Husk
  • Rhubarb Root
  • Gentian Root
  • Aloe Vera
  • Buckthorn Bark

These plant-based compounds are all extracted, condensed, and then added to the Total Cleanse Plus powder.

The manufacturer claims the ingredients are packed with fiber to gently push waste through your digestive system. Meanwhile, ingredients like aloe vera and buckthorn bark have a mild laxative effect. Together, these ingredients work to remove toxins from your body while also treating bloating, upset stomach, constipation, and other issues.

Total Cleanse Plus Ingredients

We’ve touched on the Total Cleanse Plus ingredients above. But what about the specific dosages and label information? Here’s what the supplement’s label looks like:

As you can see, that label isn’t very helpful: it hides all of the information inside a proprietary formula while only telling us the dosage of one ingredient, calcium carbonate.

That’s a problem because it makes it difficult to compare Total Cleanse Plus with other digestive health supplements.

For example, psyllium husk is commonly found in a variety of digestive powders. However, the amount of psyllium husk in Total Cleanse Plus is considerably lower than the recommended daily dose for adults.

The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center reports that a typical adult dose of psyllium husk is 3 grams to 6 grams, taken 2 to 3 times per day. There’s just 500mg of formula in total across all of the ingredients in Total Cleanse Plus.

Psyllium husk is the one ingredient in Total Cleanse Plus backed by the most scientific evidence. The other ingredients work in a similar way to psyllium husk by delivering fiber into your diet, although research shows they don’t work quite as effectively as psyllium husk.

Ultimately, with just 250mg of digestive formula in each capsule of Total Cleanse Plus, the dose in this supplement appears to be significantly lower than the recommended dose for virtually all of the ingredients. Total Cleanse Plus should provide mild digestive benefits, but nowhere near the powerful detoxification benefits that it claims to have.

Total Cleanse Plus Pricing

Total Cleanse Plus isn’t a very powerful digestive supplement. So is it priced accordingly?

Unfortunately, Total Cleanse Plus is priced higher than almost any other digestive supplement we’ve ever seen. It’s priced at $88.92, although the manufacturer advertises a price of only $4.94 (for “trial shipping”).

It’s only after you read the fine print of the terms and conditions that you learn about the full $88.92 price tag. Here’s how pricing breaks down:

-You pay $4.94 for shipping today and receive a 30 day supply (60 capsules) of Total Cleanse Plus in the mail within 3 to 5 business days

-14 days after you order your trial, you’ll be automatically charged the full retail price of $88.92. You’ll also be automatically enrolled in the Total Cleanse Plus autoship program, which sends you a monthly supply of Total Cleanse Plus at a price of $88.92 for the rest of your life (or until you cancel).

-If you want to request a refund, cancel your trial, or cancel your autoship subscription, then you’ll need to call 1-877-409-4137 or visit www.mycleansesupport.com to receive an RMA number. You won’t get a refund on any shipping costs.

All of the information about the free trial is deliberately hidden on the Total Cleanse Plus page: it’s listed under a section that says “30 Day Satisfaction Guaranteed” and is made to look like a certificate. Many customers won’t read this information because it looks like a refund policy.

Ultimately, reputable manufacturers don’t have pricing policies like this. That’s why many customers online have called Total Cleanse Plus a scam.

Should You Use Total Cleanse Plus to Detoxify your Body?

“Detox” is one of the least-understood buzzwords of recent years. Many people want to detox simply for the sake of detoxing.

That means supplements like Total Cleanse Plus can advertise themselves as “detox” supplements when in reality, they’re just overpriced fiber supplements priced 5 times higher than similar supplements like Metamucil. Total Cleanse Plus has never been clinically studied or scientifically tested by any third party.

Metamucil contains more fiber than Total Cleanse Plus and essentially the same active ingredient (psyllium husk). It also doesn’t come with a scammy autoship program or shady pricing policy. For all of these reasons, there’s little incentive to buy Total Cleanse Plus with its high price and low dosage.
