Nutritional supplement manufacturer PuraThrive recently released a nutritional supplement called Liposomal B12 with Fulvic Acid. Find out how this supplement works today in our review.
What is Liposomal B12 with Fulvic Acid?
Liposomal B12 with Fulvic Acid is a nutritional supplement that was recently launched online through the official PuraThrive.com website.
PuraThrive, which was formed in 2015, is a nutritional supplement manufacturer.
PuraThrive claims that 120 million people across America – approximately 40% of the population – are vitamin B12 deficient.
They claim that 40% ratio is true around the world: nearly half the planet is not getting enough vitamin B12 on a daily basis.
That’s a problem. As PuraThrive explains, vitamin B12 deficiency “is one of the most destructive illnesses in the western world.” The vitamin is responsible for giving your body energy.
It’s a tough problem to diagnose, as symptoms typically include feeling sluggish, light-headed, or suffering from brain fog or fatigue – which is something pretty much everybody experiences on a daily basis.
Why Do You Need a Vitamin B12 Supplement?
You probably don’t know much about vitamin B12. Many people only know it because it’s found in energy drinks and certain multivitamin supplements. However, it’s increasingly being sold on its own.
PuraThrive wants to convince you that vitamin B12 deficiency is the root of all your health problems. Here’s what the sales page has to say about it:
“Yes, B12 is essential for your energy levels, yet that’s just the tip of the iceberg. B12 is also crucial for your brain, your heart, your nervous system and so much more. It’s been called a primordial molecule responsible for the health of all the DNA in all of our cells.”
I searched the internet for “primordial molecule” and “vitamin B12” and couldn’t find anything.
In any case, PuraThrive recommends that you use their supplement to treat things like bouts of depression, brain fog, tingling limbs, lightheadedness, memory loss, irritability, fatigue, and “feeling run-down”.
They even claim that you can reduce your risk of cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, Alzheimer’s, and cardiovascular disease – all you need to do is take a vitamin B12 supplement daily.
What Does Liposomal Mean?
Obviously, there are a number of vitamin B12 supplements on the market today. So what makes Liposomal B12 with Fulvic Acid the best supplement? What exactly is “liposomal” B12?
PuraThrive makes a big deal out of the fact that they use methylcobalamin, which is a naturally-occurring version of vitamin B12 that your body can immediately use.
Like other methyl group molecules, methylcobalamin is “fundamental to liver detoxification, metabolism”, and other crucial bodily functions.
PuraThrive makes a bold statement about the effectiveness of their supplement: they claim the only way to get a purer form of vitamin B12 is if you injected it into your body.
The liposomal delivery system is that effective. Liposomal simply means that the supplement uses liposome molecules, which are uniquely-shaped molecules designed specifically to help enter your body.
How Does Fulvic Acid Help?
The liposomal delivery system is just one part of what makes the PuraThrive B12 supplement unique. The other part is fluvic acid.
PuraThrive claims they added fluvic acid for “its superior absorption capabilities”. It contains 77 macro and trace minerals and can help detoxify the body.
PuraThrive does not post any research that specifically shows fluvic acid can enhance the absorption of B12.
However, it appears to enhance the overall absorption of a wide range of nutrients by making it easier for water – and the molecules within that water – to enter your cells.

PuraThrive B12 Review Summary
Ultimately, vitamin B12 is an essential molecule in the human body.
Unfortunately, there isn’t enough current research to back up most of the health benefits claimed by PuraThrive. PuraThrive, for example, claims vitamin B12 deficiency is linked with everything from depression to Alzheimer’s to fatigue.
WebMD.com says otherwise, and reports that vitamin B12 has “insufficient evidence” linking it to Alzheimer’s, fatigue, and other health problems.
It’s also important to note that you can find similar vitamin B12 supplements for a cheaper price online.
Now Foods, for example, sells a vitamin B12 supplement that contains 5,000mcg of vitamin B12 (as cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin), good for 83,333% of your daily value. That supplement is priced at around $10 USD and contains 24 servings per container.
Based on this information, PuraThrive’s B12 supplement seems a bit pricey compared to others on the market.
PuraThrive hasn’t given us enough evidence proving that its use of liposomes and fulvic acid enhance the effectiveness of their formula.
Yes, liposomes and fulvic acid both seem to mildly enhance the absorption of the ingredients – but it’s unclear just how much they boost absorption.
Ultimately, you can get a stronger dose of vitamin B12 at a lower price tag from other nutritional supplement manufacturers.
