Meratrim – Rebody’s Fruit & Flower Weight Loss Formula?

on

Rebody Meratrim is a nutritional supplement that claims to use a blend of fruit rind and flower extracts to help you lose weight. Here’s our Rebody Meratrim review.

What is Rebody Meratrim?

Rebody Meratrim is a non-stimulating weight loss formula. Instead of using harmful chemicals to help you lose weight, Rebody Meratrim uses a blend of mostly natural ingredients – including fruit rind extracts and flower extracts.

Rebody Meratrim doesn’t claim to be an instant overnight cure for obesity. It doesn’t claim to help you drop 20 pounds in a week. Instead, it simply claims to complement a diet and exercise regimen to help gradually boost your weight loss results.

The supplement makes it seem like it has dozens of ingredients. When you look at the ingredients label, however, you’ll realize there are just two ingredients, including one flower head extract and one fruit rind extract.

Can two extracts really have that much of an effect on your weight loss results? Let’s take a closer look at how they work.

How Does Rebody Meratrim Work?

Rebody Meratrim uses a 400mg proprietary blend of Sphaeranthus indicus extract and Garcinia mangostana extract.

Sphaeranthus indicus, also known as Asteraceae or East Indian Globe Thistle, is an herb widely used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat a variety of ailments and conditions. It’s purported to treat epilepsy, mental illness, diabetes, fever, cough, skin diseases, and more using its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Nevertheless, the herb has minimal research supporting any health benefits.

Based on the minimal research we do have (most of which involves rats), the dosage for this flower extract is 2200mg per day for a 150lb person or 3600mg per day for a 250lb person. Considering there’s about 200mg in this formula, this dosage seems relatively weak.

Garcinia mangostana, on the other hand, is also known as mangosteen or purple mangosteen. Not to be confused with the similar garcinia cambogia (one of the trendiest weight loss ingredients on the planet today), garcinia mangostana fruits “were mentioned generations ago in Chinese records”. Like Sphaeranthus indicus, they’re used as a general cure-all.

WebMD.com reports that mangosteen is “used for many conditions, but so far, there isn’t enough scientific evidence to determine whether or not it is effective for any of them.” Just like with Sphaeranthus indicus, mangosteen hasn’t undergone many scientific studies to determine its effectiveness. It could work as advertised – or it might not.

Overall, these two ingredients make up the weight loss formula Meratrim. The individual ingredients in Meratrim aren’t backed by much independent scientific evidence. But the formula as a whole has undergone at least one major clinical study, which we’ll talk about below.

Scientific Evidence for Meratrim

Meratrim is the active ingredient in this supplement. The formula has actually gone through a clinical trial where participants took 800mg of the formula (two capsules) once a day, leading to weight loss results. Here’s how that study worked:

-Participants took 800mg of Meratrim per day

-After 16 weeks, Meratrim showed a significant difference in waist and hip size among participants

-This was a double-blind, placebo-controlled study, which means neither the participants nor the researchers knew who was taking Meratrim and who was taking the placebo

-At the end of the 16 weeks, participants lost an additional 8.8 pounds compared to the placebo group

-The Meratrim group also lost an addition 2.46 inches from the waist and 2.07 inches from the hip compared to the placebo group

-The study took place in India on overweight adults between ages 21 and 50

-The participants in both groups (placebo and Meratrim) were given a 2000 calorie per day diet, including 58% carbohydrates, 17% protein, and 25% fat) and were also told to walk 30 minutes per day 5 days a week

-There were a total of 100 people involved in the study, including 23 men and 77 women

Meratrim isn’t actually made by Rebody: it’s a registered trademark of Laila Nutraceuticals and is exclusively licensed by InterHealth Nutraceuticals in Benicia, California.

One of the things that distinguishes good diet pills from bad ones is clinical evidence. With Meratrim, we have a double-blind, placebo-controlled study where the formula proved its effectiveness in terms of hip size, waist size, and weight loss. The study involved a good number of participants (100 people) and led to more weight loss than the placebo group.

Based on this clinical study, we have to assume that Meratrim works as advertised when you take one 400mg capsule twice per day.

What Do Customers Have to Say About Rebody Meratrim?

On Amazon.com, Rebody Meratrim has an average rating with 2.8 stars (out of 5) and a total of 288 customer reviews.

Some of the pros and cons of those reviews include:

Pros

-Noticeable weight loss results, especially after two weeks of taking the supplement while eating and exercising regularly

-“If you exercise this definitely works”

-Curbs your appetite in addition to its other benefits

-Soy-free, sugar-free, gluten-free, and lacks any chemical additives or artificial flavors

-“I am gradually and steadily losing weight”

Cons

-Made me nauseous

-I did not experience any benefits

-“Another gimmick that does nothing”

-“I am through listening to Dr. Oz. I have tried so many of the things he has suggested and the only thing I have lost is my hard earned money.”

Ultimately, the reviews for Rebody Meratrim follow a similar trend as other diet pills: there are certain people who are looking for a miracle weight loss result, where they sit on the couch and eat a pill to lose weight. If that’s what you’re looking for, then Rebody Meratrim isn’t likely to work for you.

However, reviewers who put in the hard work in terms of dieting and exercising were able to successfully enhance their weight loss results using this supplement – at least, based on the information listed here.

Should You Take Rebody Meratrim to Lose Weight?

There are plenty of scammy weight loss products available online today. Most of them promise enormous weight loss results – but have little scientific evidence supporting their benefits.

Rebody Meratrim was surprisingly effective in our research. In one clinical study involving 100 participants, the Meratrim formula (at the exact same dosage used in Rebody’s supplement) was shown to enhance the weight loss and hip size reduction results of participants to a greater extent than a placebo group.

There are also few ingredients or filler compounds in the supplement: there are just two extracts, including one flower head extract and one fruit rind extract. It’s also vegetarian friendly.

If you’re willing to put in 30 minutes of walking (or more intense exercise) per day for 5 days a week while also reducing your caloric intake, then Rebody Meratrim may be the weight loss supplement you’re looking for. It’s one of the few we’ve found online that’s proven to work as advertised.
