Kuju Coffee Features: How Does It Work?
Kuju Coffee’s Pocket Pullovers feature an innovative design where the top of each coffee pouch features an elastic band that fits over the rim of most coffee mugs or travel flasks. This anchors the product, allowing the filter to fit inside the container while you pour hot water through it and into the mug.
Kuju Coffee recommends using water that is just under boiling temperature. Much in the same way that you would steep a tea bag while making hot tea, you simply leave the Pocket Pullover in the brewing coffee for anywhere between 3 to 5 minutes, and you have 8 to 12 ounces of fresh brewed coffee.
Who Makes Kuju Coffee?
Kuju Coffee was founded by Jeff and Justin Wiguna, two brothers and Eagle Scouts who grew tired of having to settle for instant coffee while out camping, hiking, and otherwise enjoying the great outdoors. This led to the development of the Pocket Pullover.
Kuju Coffee is dedicated to not just making coffee more accessible while on the go but also to making the world a better place. The company sources its coffee beans from a farm that employs 80 former victims of sex trafficking and donates 1% of all its sales to the National Park Foundation.
In addition to its core coffee products, Kuju also sells company-branded mugs, pour-over kettles, hydroflasks, stickers, and field pouches. The company also offers gift cards in values ranging from $10 to $195.

Should You Buy Kuju Coffee?

Combined with the socially conscious bent of the company itself, placing a Pocket Pourover in your mug every morning not only provides you with tasty coffee wherever you like but leaves you feeling like you’ve made a difference in the world.
The only downside is that this is an extremely expensive product when you think about it as cup per cost. The main takeaway here is that it’s ideal for weekends spend camping or a week spent hiking, but isn’t really sustainable for daily regular use.
This is largely fine – nobody is expecting Kuju Coffee’s Pocket Pourovers to replace Keurig coffee machines or your local Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts; it’s just important to keep in mind that this coffee product isn’t meant for those of us who never stray too far from running water or an electrical outlet.
That being said, it’s a damn fine alternative to instant coffee on the go.
