KIND Snack Bars Review – Worth Buying?

KIND Snack Bars are a new lineup of granola bars that promise to give you a healthy and delicious snack any time of the day. Here’s our KIND Snack Bars review.

What Are KIND Snack Bars?

KIND is a food manufacturer that launched in 2004 with 8 snack bar varieties. Today, the company has grown to sell over 22 different types of bars along with 6 “Healthy Grains” snackable clusters.

The company promises to give you flavors you’ve never experienced before while also enjoying a healthy nutritional profile. KIND emphasizes natural ingredients and believes that if you can’t pronounce an ingredient, then you shouldn’t be putting it into your body.

Most of the company’s products consist of just nuts, fruits, and honey to bind it all together. That’s it. The company is committed to natural, whole foods and clearly-labeled ingredients. All products are certified gluten-free and come with non-GMO ingredients.

The only grain used by the company is gluten-free crisp rice in certain varieties sold by the company.

KIND Products

KIND separates its main snack bar lineup into three separate categories, including Fruit & Nut, Plus, and Nuts & Spices. Here’s a brief overview of what you’ll find in each category.

Fruit & Nut

These bars contain just whole nuts and fruit bound together with natural honey for a snack “that’s easy to recognize, pronounce and enjoy.”

Varieties include all of the following:

Almond & Apricot, Nut Delight, Fruit & Nut delight, Apple Cinnamon & Pecan, Almonds & Apricots In Yogurt, Peanut Butter & Strawberry, Raspberry Cashew & Chia, Dark Chocolate Almond & Coconut, Blueberry Vanilla & Cashew, Almond & Coconut, Almond Coconut Cashew Chai, and Fruit & Nuts In Yogurt.

Plus

Plus bars contain fruits, nuts, and honey along with an extra boost of ingredients like antioxidants, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids. The bars promise to be tasty, healthy, gluten-free, and made from non-GMO ingredients.

Available Plus bars include all of the following flavors:

Almond Cashew With Flax + Omega 3, Blueberry Pecan, Cranberry Almond + Antioxidants With Macadamia Nuts, Almond Walnut Macadamia With Peanuts, Pomegranate Blueberry Pistachio + Antioxidants, Dark Chocolate Cherry Cashew + Antioxidants, and Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate.

Nuts & Spices

The Nuts & Spices category mixes the standard fruits and nuts of KIND bars with spices like chili pepper, cinnamon, and vanilla. All of the bars are gluten-free, contain non-GMO ingredients, and use 5 grams of sugar or less.

About KIND

KIND is based in New York and can be reached at the following mailing address:

KIND recently made headlines after the FDA told the company to stop using the word “healthy” on its granola bars. The FDA claimed the company was using the word healthy in violation of a regulation. Specifically, the FDA forbids you from using the word “healthy” if your food has more than 3 grams of total fat or 1 gram of saturated fat per serving.

KIND argued against that ruling and, 13 months after the FDA first warned the company, the ruling was reversed. The FDA even claims that as a result of this case, it’s going to reevaluate the definition of the word “healthy”.

Ultimately, KIND snack bars are some of the healthiest and most natural snack bars you’ll find on the market, with most of them containing only a handful of ingredients, all of which come straight from nature.
