Eat the Bear – Quality Clean Lean Protein Fitness Supplements?

on

Eat the Bear is a Charlotte, North Carolina-based supplement manufacturer that promises to provide clean, lean nutrition without compromises. Read our Eat the Bear (ETB) review to learn more.

What is Eat the Bear?

Eat the Bear, also known as ETB, is a supplement manufacturer that offers a wide variety of products available for sale online and in stores.

Today, ETB supplements can be found online at ETBFit.com or through popular grocery stores like HEB, Harris Teeter, and Meijer.

The company describes itself as “a sports nutrition-based lifestyle business” whose goal is to provide “clean and lean supplements to support pure achievement”.

The name of the company, by the way, comes from a colleague who was diagnosed with leukemia a number of years ago. During challenging times, that colleague would say, “Some days you eat the bear, and some days the bear eats you.”

Using Eat the Bear supplements, you can “eat the bear” every possible day.

ETB was founded in 2011. Today, it’s best-known for its Grizzly Protein powder, which has strong reviews on Amazon and other major review websites.

Eat the Bear Supplements

Eat the Bear currently sells about 10 different supplements. You can purchase the supplements individually or as part of a package deal. The company makes some common promises about all of its supplements, including:

  • Free of banned substances
  • Disclose all ingredients on labels
  • Source all ingredients from within the United States

The first two advertised benefits sound good. However, it’s hard to give the company too much praise. After all, it’s illegal to add banned substances to nutritional supplements. It’s also illegal to not disclose ingredients on labels. That being said, ETB does seem to be more transparent about its ingredients than other supplement manufacturers, and doesn’t seem to use many proprietary formulas with hidden dosages.

The prices listed below are for a one-time purchase of Eat the Bear supplements. However, Eat the Bear lets you save 30% if you subscribe to an autoship program. Typically, most supplement autoship programs save 10 to 15% off the price, so a 30% discount is very generous.

In any case, let’s take a look at the Eat the Bear supplements available today:

Bare Mass Gainer Protein ($59.99)

ETB Bare Mass is a pre/post workout shake designed to add extra calories to your diet while providing your body with the protein it needs. Each serving is 4 scoops (151g), and there are approximately 15 servings in each container. Servings contain 610 calories, 53g of protein, 26g of protein, and 86g of carbs. The formula uses a whey protein concentrate.

Bare Isolate Whey Protein ($47.99)

This protein powder is available in unique flavors like Chocolate Peanut Butter, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Cinnamon Bun. Based on the hundreds of customer reviews on the official Eat the Bear website, it appears to be the company’s most popular product. The protein is non-GMO, gluten-free, and lactose-free, and there’s less than 1g of sugar, fat, and carbs in each serving. There’s 24g of protein in each serving and a surprisingly strong amino acid profile.

Naturally Casein Protein Powder ($43.99)

Available in chocolate or vanilla, the ETB Naturally Casein protein powder contains 23 servings per container along with 23g of protein per serving. It’s flavored and sweetened with natural flavors and stevia.

Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder ($44.99)

The ETB Grass-Fed Whey Protein Powder comes from grass-fed cows free of recombinant bovine growth hormones (rBHG). The protein is also sweetened with stevia – which is something we see with other ETB products as well. You enjoy a light and clean flavor with minimal aftertaste. There’s 20g of protein in each serving and 26 servings per container.

NaturaLean Fat Burner ($39.99)

The NaturaLean Fat Burner is priced at $39.99 and is designed to be taken before your workout. Key ingredients in the formula include amino acids (L-carnitine and L-tartrate) along with a whopping 250mg of caffeine (approximately 2.5 cups of coffees’ worth). There’s also a mood enhancing complex (which contains vinpocetine) as well as a surprising range of botanical extracts. Altogether, the ingredients should energize you while helping you stay focused and alert – both physically and mentally.

ETB Uncaged 2.5 Pre-Workout ($20)

ETB’s Uncaged pre-workout formula is available in pink lemonade, mango, or fruit punch varieties. There are 0 calories and 0g of sugar in each serving, but there’s a large dose of amino acids, creatine, caffeine, and choline. ETB doesn’t list the amount of caffeine in each serving, although there’s 1500mg of beta alanine, 1000mg of arginine, 1000mg of creatine, and 500mg of agmatine sulfate. Priced at $20 for 30 servings, Uncaged 2.5 seems to be a very powerful preworkout formula at a competitive price.

Bare Essentials Multivitamins for Him/Her ($25)

ETB sells multivitamins for men and women, both of which are priced at $25 for 30 servings (3 tablets per serving). It contains strong daily doses of all of the ingredients you’d expect to find in a good multivitamin, along with some surprising additions like ashwagandha root extract (100mg), spirulina (50mg), lutein (2mg), grape seed extract (20mg) and turmeric root extract with 95% curcuminoids (100mg). The formula varies slightly for men and women, but the core ingredients and dosages are similar.

Bare Aminos BCAA ($39.99)

ETB Bare Aminos BCAA is a BCAA supplement in a 4:2:2 ratio. You take it before your workout to widen your blood vessels, enhance your pump, and kickstart your muscle recovery. Some of the key ingredients in the formula include 4000mg of L-leucine, 2000mg of L-isoleucine, 2000mg of L-valine, 1000mg of L-citrulline malate, and 2000mg of L-glutamine. It’s flavored with citric acid, natural flavor, and sucralose.

Bare Energy Pre-Workout ($20)

This is the original version of the Uncaged 2.5 preworkout formula. It’s not quite as powerful, but still contains a modest dose of caffeine (125mg of caffeine) with a strong dose of amino acids (similar to the Bare Aminos BCAA supplement mentioned above). There’s also a nootropic blend containing Alpha GPC, Huperzine A, and TeaCrine.
