Cellucor Super HD – Real Weight Loss & Nootropic Effects?

on

Cellucor Super HD is a new weight loss formula that promises to give you a “sharper focus on the bigger picture”. That’s why it’s called “HD”. Get it? Here’s our Super HD review to check whether or not it works.

What is Cellucor Super HD?

Cellucor Super HD is a weight loss supplement that uses ingredients like caffeine and green tea extract to help you lose weight. The formula is called “HD” because it claims to give you a “sharper focus on the bigger picture” of weight loss.

Super HD is made by nutritional supplement company Cellucor. It claims to provide the following benefits:

The formula comes in the form of a capsule. You take the capsule with a glass of water – once in the morning and another in the mid-afternoon. Cellucor recommends you take one more pill during the day as your body builds tolerance. However, you should not exceed 3 capsules per day (there’s a high amount of caffeine in each serving).

How Does Cellucor Super HD Work?

Cellucor Super HD works using a blend of proprietary formulas, weight loss ingredients, and caffeine. Here are the three main proprietary formulas:

— SuperHD ThermoSculpting Blend (250mg): Contains green tea extract, Slimpro protein hydrolysates of blue whiting (a type of fish protein), and dandelion root extract.

— SuperHD Sensory Impact Blend (250mg): Contains N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine. Rhodiola root extract, amla fruit extract, yohimbe bark extract, Capsimax Cayenne fruit extract, Vodia fruit extract, Toothed clubmoss, aerial parts extract (Huperzine A), and Rauwolfia root bark extract.

— Caffeine Anhydrous (160mg)

Cellucor claims these ingredients give you the energy to hit the gym hard while also providing you with the focus to motivate yourself. Rounding out the formula are thermogenic ingredients that “turn your body into a fat burning furnace.”

Obviously, the biggest ingredient in the formula is caffeine. The two other blends in total contain just 250mg, while there’s 160mg of caffeine on its own. That’s the same amount of caffeine as you’d find in two Red Bulls. Caffeine is a known thermogenic and weight loss agent. It will increase your heart rate, encourage fat burning across your body, and contribute to weight loss.

The other ingredients are found in relatively small amounts. They include mostly botanical extracts – like dandelion root extract and yohimbe bark extract. These botanicals have shown some evidence they can help you lose weight, but they’re not a sure bet. Plus, Cellucor Super HD doesn’t contain a very high dosage of any ingredient, so they’re unlikely to have a major impact on your weight loss goals.

We’d be okay with all of these ingredients if Cellucor had performed any clinical trials on its supplements. They haven’t. For all we know, Super HD is just as effective as a caffeine pill. Based on the ingredients listed, this is a caffeine pill mixed with trace amounts of a handful of other weight loss ingredients.

Slimpro, by the way, is a synthetic formula that “helps the body trigger the feeling of satiety to control appetite.” It makes you feel full, so you eat loss.

Cellucor Super HD Pricing

Cellucor Super HD is available in two packages: a 60 capsule or 120 capsule package.

  • 60 Capsules: $49.99
  • 120 Capsules: $79.99

You can purchase it online from Cellucor’s official website. However, third party retailers – including The Vitamin Shoppe – sell the 60 capsule package for as little as $39.99. You can also find it at GNC, Amazon, and other supplement retailers.

About Cellucor

Cellucor is a nutritional supplement manufacturer best-known for its C4 pre-workout supplement. The company also sells protein powders, weight loss formulas, and testosterone boosters.

Should You Take Cellucor Super HD to Lose Weight?

Cellucor Super HD is essentially a caffeine pill mixed with Slimpro fish protein along with a handful of botanical extracts. The supplement has never been studied on its own to demonstrate its weight loss benefits. However, Slimpro – which is made by a third party manufacturer – has demonstrated strong evidence that it can positively alter your weight composition.

Nevertheless, at a price of $50 for a package of 60 capsules (one month supply), Super HD seems a bit pricey for a package of what are essentially caffeine pills. The supplement also makes odd claims about its nootropic benefits (it contains Huperzine A) but they refuse to tell us how much Huperzine A is actually in the supplement. In the nootropic world, dosage is extremely important (especially if you want to stack Cellucor Super HD with other ingredients). Without knowing the Huperzine A dosage, it’s difficult to say whether or not Super HD would provide any nootropic effects.

Based on all of this information, Cellucor Super HD appears to be a capable weight loss pill if you believe in the power of caffeine, Slimpro, and botanical extracts – it’s just available at a premium price tag.
