What is Byrdie?
Byrdie is an online blog that features a diverse range of how-to guides, reviews, and tutorials about fashion and makeup. The blog also features lifestyle articles catered towards a female audience.
At the Byrdie.com homepage, visitors are greeted with a number of articles spanning a variety of topics.
Sample articles include “Foods to Eat (And Avoid) on Your Period” or “13 Real Women Share Their Cures for Under-Eye Circles.”
Byrdie Topics and Categories
Byrdie separates its content into the following sections:
- Hair
- Skin
- Makeup
- Health
- How-To
Each topic is self-explanatory: the Hair category features things like celebrity beauty secrets for great hair, for example, while the Skin category features articles like “Quick Fixes and Long-Term Solutions for Your Eye Concerns.”
Articles are accompanied by high-quality images and are packed with comprehensive information about each topic. For example, the “Eye Concerns” article tackles pretty much every eye concern someone could have, including puffiness, fine lines and wrinkles, droopiness, dryness and irritation, and dark circles. The article recommends certain products that can be used to alleviate these eye concerns, or natural solutions that help eliminate these problems.

The Byrdie Shop
Byrdie’s online store is different from many online stores we see today. The online store works sort of like a blog: you can read articles like “Sephora’s Best Color-Correcting Products” or “The Top Face Masks to Try Now”. These articles are curated by Byrdie editors and list a variety of products you may want to try.
After opening each post, you’ll see a selection of products along with links to where you can purchase the products. Most of the links appear to be affiliate links, so Byrdie appears to earn some money when you make a purchase through these links.
The company’s affiliate disclosure section confirms that Byrdie may earn money through referring visitors to affiliated products. Some people may believe this introduces bias into the shopping process. However, Byrdie claims that they still strive to be unbiased and impartial:
“Even though we may receive compensation in connection with your purchase of Affiliate Products as outlined above, we still seek to provide our honest opinions, findings, beliefs, and experiences as they relate to the products and services that are featured on the Site.”
Affiliate links aren’t necessarily a bad thing. All websites need to make money from you in one way or another. However, you should take some of the information listed on Byrdie with a grain of salt, and consult other review websites before making a choice on products you wish to purchase.

While Byrdie focuses on beauty products, WhoWhatWear focuses on fashion and style and MyDomaine focuses on lifestyle products.
