CWC Labs – Food & CBD Contamination Testing & Analysis?

on

CWC Labs is a screening and quantitative testing service that offers expert analysis of food, water, supplements, cosmetics, and other compounds.

Here’s our CWC Labs review.

What Is CWC Labs?

CWC Labs is a state-of-the-art laboratory that offers a wide variety of testing services. The lab claims that its accreditation is recognized internationally and goes “beyond the scope of most U.S. university labs.” As proof of that accreditation, CWC Labs claims its lab results can be cited as evidence by any court of law anywhere in the developed world.

CWC Labs test all types of foods and supplements. However, the company has recently become well-known for its CBD testing services.

The laboratory recently created a breakthrough CBD validation method catered towards the “hemp” (i.e. cannabis) industry.

That test claims to provide accurate information about the CBD, THC, and other chemicals in a cannabis strain. Other testing methods are inaccurate and have led to huge regulatory problems with the FDA. CWC Labs, on the other hand, claims its tests use a “high precision analytical method that overcomes all the deficiencies of previous methods.”

CWC Labs CBD Analysis: How Does It Work?

How does CWC Labs actually test cannabis and hemp? The company has created a mass spectrometer time-of-flight CBD test that claims to lead to zero loss of analyte during sample prep. That test was developed through months of research and development.

Compared to other CBD tests available today, CWC Labs claims to offer a number of powerful benefits. There’s a high carry-over from sample to sample, for example, and less variability. They also have no difficulty separating CBD from THC – something that other tests often struggle with.

Some of the specific benefits of CWC Labs CBD analysis include:

  • Extreme reproducibility, with RSDs less than 1.5%
  • Extremely sensitive test, offering a sensitivity many orders of magnitude higher than HPLC methods
  • Simultaneous quantitation of CBD, CBG, CBN, and THC (conventional testing like CBDA requires additional procedures because it denatures at room temperatures)

Benefits Of Working with CWC Labs

Whether you’re testing a new strain or developing a cannabis product, CWC Labs can help test your product for its chemical structure. Some of the specific benefits of working with the lab include:

-Cannabis analysis is “personally overseen by Mike Adams, lab science director and lead scientist for [the above testing method]”, explains the official website. Adams is described as “a pioneer in food and supplement testing”. He’s also the author of Food Forensics.

-CWC Labs describes itself as a “pro hemp” independent science laboratory and a “friend of the industry”. The lab claims that your samples are safe with them.

-CWC Labs works with you to ensure your CBD extracts are accurate and legal. They want your CBD extract supplement to succeed – and they understand the regulatory challenges you’re facing.

The main “downside” of working with CWC Labs is that the pricing is significantly higher than HPLC methods. HPLC tests start at around $50, while CWC Labs CBD tests start in the $400 range, with prices dropping to $300 per test with volume.

About CWC Labs

CWC Labs, or Consumer Wellness Center Labs, is a food and supplement testing laboratory built “from the ground up” by Mike Adams. Adams is the author of Food Forensics and has created two patent-pending dietary supplements called Heavy Metals Defense and Cesium Eliminator, both of which protect your body from toxic elements.

CWC Labs uses mass-spec time-of-flight instrumentation to provide a wide variety of testing services for unknown products.

The lab can screen “almost any liquid or solid sample for over 25,000 known chemicals, covering pesticides, industrial chemicals, recreational drugs, food additives, and more.”

The lab is well-known for its CBD testing services. However, a wide variety of other testing services are also available, including:

  • Lead in municipal water
  • Fluoride in beverages
  • Pesticides in processed foods
  • Mercury in fish or vaccines
  • Active phytochemicals
  • Chemical runoff in soils
  • Heavy metals in soils
  • Lead in calcium supplements
  • Arsenic in seaweed

CWC Labs is a laboratory based in Tucson, Arizona. The lab is affiliated with the non-profit organization, Consumer Wellness Center.
